Guest Insane Bump Machine Posted July 25, 2003 Report Posted July 25, 2003 The Goldberg model looks excellent! I don't think The Rock has ever done such a nasty bladejob in real life The small player symbol on the side of the Smackdown bar is probably used to show injured body parts.
TheFranchise Posted July 25, 2003 Report Posted July 25, 2003 That Rey one looks real!! This game looks so awesome... *gets it.*
Murmuring Beast Posted July 25, 2003 Report Posted July 25, 2003 (edited) I will not be buying Smackdown 5. Edited July 25, 2003 by Murmuring Beast
Guest Insane Bump Machine Posted July 25, 2003 Report Posted July 25, 2003 I will not be buying Smackdown 5. I'm saving up for an electronic piano. That's good to know.
Guest Aero Posted July 25, 2003 Report Posted July 25, 2003 Is that last shot of Goldberg at Judgment Day by any chance? I didn't see the PPV, so I don't know what the name graphic or entrance looked like.
Murmuring Beast Posted July 25, 2003 Report Posted July 25, 2003 I'm tired of the Smackdown games. They are initially great, but then get very boring very quickly.
Guest cpac Posted July 25, 2003 Report Posted July 25, 2003 The game looks great but if it still plays like a smackdown game, I will not buy it. Last wresting game I bought was No Mercy and that was fall 2000. It is now 2003. Last Smackdown game I purchased was Smackdown 2. I refuse to buy and play a wrestling game where the wrestlers get tossed off the cell and get right back up. I want REALISM DAMMIT.

LaParkaYourCar Posted July 25, 2003 Report Posted July 25, 2003 I don't think The Rock has ever done such a nasty bladejob in real life Don't forget when he bladed wrong that one time and bled all over the place. I think it was in a cage match on RAW.

I think it was in a cage match on RAW. The night after Wrestlemania XVII, right? I forgot about that one. Damn, that RAW pissed me off.
Guest Nightscrawler Posted July 25, 2003 Report Posted July 25, 2003 The graphics look good, hopefully the gameplay will be improved. I hated how some submissions only lasted a second...
Guest Insane Bump Machine Posted July 25, 2003 Report Posted July 25, 2003 The graphics look good, hopefully the gameplay will be improved. I hated how some submissions only lasted a second... With the new submission meter that will change, otherwise it wouldn't make sense to even put it in.
Guest cpac Posted July 25, 2003 Report Posted July 25, 2003 When is the release date?? All 3 wwe games looking promising. I guess if they are great nobody is going to watch the wwe anymore. I rather put on my own 5 star matches than having to watching stephanie and sable.
Guest Insane Bump Machine Posted July 25, 2003 Report Posted July 25, 2003 When is the release date?? All 3 wwe games looking promising. I disagree, only Smackdown looks like a good game to me. The other two games still need a lot of work. But I like to be surprised, so we'll see. RAW 2 - 9/16/2003 WWE SmackDown! Here Comes the Pain - 10/28/2003 (Gamespot) or 10/22/2003 (EBGames) WWE Wrestlemania XIX - 9/9/2003
Guest Memphis Posted July 26, 2003 Report Posted July 26, 2003 Thanks for posting the screens, IBM. They look even better then the initial screens for SYM did when they were released. I look forward to making Goldberg my personal bitch via Lesnar bashing when I get my hands on it. I'm amped. M
Guest Insane Bump Machine Posted July 26, 2003 Report Posted July 26, 2003 You gotta love those facial expressions. If all of the characters are that well modelled it'll be off the charts awesome! Together with the new voice-overs the wrestlers will be more life-like than ever *sounds like corporate shill and likes it*
Guest Insane Bump Machine Posted July 26, 2003 Report Posted July 26, 2003 ah hell, since I'm in the mood... Goldberg vs Lesnar Lesnar grabs the ropes to break the Ankle Lock Everybody has got a prize Abs of steel Stacy pulls Torrie's shirt off
Guest Memphis Posted July 26, 2003 Report Posted July 26, 2003 Going through the links I just realised that THE MILLION DOLLAR MAN is in the fucking game. Screw Lesnar, Goldbitch's ass WILL BE BOUGHT, AH - HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAH! *Que 'Money, Money, Money' theme music*
Rendclaw Posted July 26, 2003 Report Posted July 26, 2003 YES!!! Everyone has got a price..... for the Million Dollar Man.... This is going to kick ass big time.
PsychoDriver Posted July 26, 2003 Report Posted July 26, 2003 Looks great, Should be a good game now they added alot of features (Blood, Selling, Weight System, Good Submission feature) that should take away all that was bad in the SD series. One thing I don't like though is making your CAW have to earn Ability points and "learn" new moves. I like making CAWs to be as simple as possible, I fear all that will make CAWs a pain in the ass,
Guest edotherocket Posted July 26, 2003 Report Posted July 26, 2003 I think the fact that The Million Dollar Man is coming to the ring in one of those carts ala WM3&6 just sealed the deal for me.
LivingLegendGaryColeman Posted July 26, 2003 Report Posted July 26, 2003 Elimination Chamber, Jackhammer, backstage: http://free.inkfrog.com/pix/jdkash/030723103528_2.jpg Story sequences, catfight with submission meter, unique grapples, RVD busted open, selling: http://free.inkfrog.com/pix/jdkash/030723103807_2.jpg If you look at the page at the bottom of the links, it shows you some more of the legends. The second page shows Warrior and DiBiase. The first page confirms Sgt. Slaughter, The Iron Sheik and then Old School Taker and Old School Hogan. I love the Legends feature, but Old School Taker and ESPECIALLY Old School Hogan will probably waste spots. I can appreciate the Old School Taker, he'll probably have the older moveset (Tombstone and stuff), whole different look, but I really just don't understand Old School Hogan. More hair and shorter tights?
Rendclaw Posted July 26, 2003 Report Posted July 26, 2003 One thing I don't like though is making your CAW have to earn Ability points and "learn" new moves. I like making CAWs to be as simple as possible, I fear all that will make CAWs a pain in the ass, I look at it as a challenge.... when you make a CAW in SYM, he's jobber with 50 Superstar Points... nothing made me happier when I got a win on the Rock at 60 points and him at 95. My first CAW is a nightmare under computer control now that he's at 97 pts and former world champion (currently held by my other CAW. My point is that I like having to work my way up in the ranks and get better after every match, rather being on a par with the superstars... it gives a good sense of accomplishment.
Guest edotherocket Posted July 26, 2003 Report Posted July 26, 2003 Aww crap. Old School Hogan and Taker? Whats going on there? So out of twelve legends, confirmed so far are: Dibiase Warrior Slaughter L.O.D Nikolai Volkoff Hogan Taker That leaves only 4 left.
Guest edotherocket Posted July 26, 2003 Report Posted July 26, 2003 Okay, so I saw the pic with the full list: Snuka George Animal Steele L.O.D Sergeant Slaughter Hillbilly Jim Million Dollar Man Old School Taker Roddy Piper Old School Hogan Nikolai Volkoff Iron Shiek Man...thats a little disappointing. No Bret, Bulldog, Owen, Andre, Savage etc. Instead we get Hillbilly Jim. I suspose this leaves them with something to add for next years game.
Guest The Decadent Slacker Posted July 27, 2003 Report Posted July 27, 2003 This game has just been bought. I'm in the minority, but i liked certain things about the SD! games (primarily easily hitting your finish from virtually anywhere), & with the submission/grappling/whatever the fuck else along side that, i'm happy. The legends suck. Volkoff? Hillbilly? STEELE?! Dear god. Old School Hogan is a fucking rip off. why not just make it an alternate attire or something? OS Taker is fine, since i liked him. But damn, replace those 4 with Cactus, Bret, Savage & maybe Owen (Blassie would be cool) & it's perfect. I agree with the sound thrashing of Goldie. I hope this has injuries. nothing would be better than having DiBiase HBK up his back.
Guest Angle-plex Posted July 28, 2003 Report Posted July 28, 2003 I have a question: If Zack Gowan is in this game, would that mean that we could create our own one-legged wrestlers in CAW mode? The character model would already be there, so I don't see why not.
Mecha Mummy Posted July 28, 2003 Report Posted July 28, 2003 Dear god. HILLBILLY JIM? The HELL? Nooo, we don't get Owen, Bulldog, Cactus Jack, Bret, or anyone GOOD, we get HILLBILLY JIM. Since when was he a legend? ... Well, on the plus side, we do get DiBiase...
Guest Choken One Posted July 28, 2003 Report Posted July 28, 2003 Well Looks fine to me and Bret,Owen, Bulldog are nortiously EASY to create so I am not too pissy. when does it hit shelves?
