Darn it..I lost almost 400 in the gambling thread.

 

Better than some people did though.

I was considering sticking everything (I have less than a thousand left) on Gowan.

 

I'd say that I'm glad I didn't, except I kinda don't care. Bah well, the day I go broke on the gambling thread means the WWE isn't head-poundingly predictible in it's booking. This show was a good show. I even enjoyed the Vince match.

 

 

The only time I stopped watching and did something else was the catfight match.

Angle's title chase should have been better. I could see Brock turning heel at Summerslam to get the title back and then a real title chase for Kurt... Bah, I don't like this much. Angle with the title does open up newer and better matches, but in terms of _best for angle_ this ain't it.

man i must say i am soo glad I ordered the ppv tonight... i was hesitant with two mcmhaon matches and the possiblity of big show winning the title but that show rocked....only thing i hated was the steph/sable match/finish... the rest was ok to awesome stuff...

Angle wins clean, holy shit. A very good PPV, save for Vince vs. Gowan and Cena vs. Undertaker.

Well, I just got back from the bar and I only read the last page of the thread because if I read the whole thing, people would be done talking about the PPV for the night.

 

However, I want to say that PPV was AWESOME! I think that was the most fun PPV I've seen since No Mercy. Benoit/Guerrero, Filthy Animals/Suck Squad, and the Triple Threat were all ****+ matches. And since I'm a huge mark for Angle, I thought the main event was perfect. He didn't just win the match, he pinned Brock. The powerbomb and the Angle Slam through the table were both great holy sh*t moments too. In fact, the whole match went a lot better than anyone could have expected.

 

As far as the booking goes, I'm almost positive this will be the trigger for Brock's heel turn. Losing the title and losing a match clean for the first time ever would be enough for him to flip out or even side with Heyman again. The booking's excellent, and when you think about how great Angle is as a performer, why shouldn't he look strong enough to beat both of those men?

 

Finally, just to gloat a little, I wanna say that I won $500 on Eddie escaping the crossface, and whatever a $500 bet on Angle pays ($900?) in the gambling thread.

Awesome show, and it just goes to show how much better SD is than RAW in some cases. I was actually a little reluctant to order the show, but I'm glad I did. Seeing as how I actually missed the majority of this thread, I'll give my thoughts on the matches.

 

Benoit vs. Guerrero was MOTN for me. I was sure Guerrero was winning, going in, but when Benoit kept busting out the Germans and reversals into the Crossface, I was split. The start was a little slow, but they fired right back with nearfalls and classic wrestling in the end. Eddie's performance was amazing, too. As the sign in the crowd said... Eddie deserves an Oscar. The playing possum bit was gold. I don't care what anyone says... I like the look of the new US Title.

 

Gunn vs. Noble didn't do much for me. I was surprised that Noble got the nearly clean win with the roll-up with the tights. I figured Torrie would accidentally cost Gunn the match.

 

Bar brawl was garbage, save for a few moments. I loved watching Sean O'Haire go Steve Blackman on everyone with the pool cues. Shannon Moore's crossbody off the stage was cool. Too bad for Matt Hardy as his table couldn't break. Maybe I missed it, but why didn't Faarooq win, too? Was it because of the last person drinking rule or what?

 

WGTT vs. Kidman & Rey was awesome as well. Great tag team spots, particularly the finish and Kidman tossing Rey into the top rope rana. Kidman's SSP off the rope to the outside was great, as well.

 

Steph vs. Sable wasn't as bad as I thought it would be... but A-Train!?

 

Cena vs. Undertaker... the match wasn't that bad, although the constant punch-punch-kick-punch did get on my nerves. The finish, though, disappointing. What good does this match do for Cena? The Last Ride off the second rope... too predictable. I saw Cena go for 10 punches and cringed.

 

Vince vs. Gowen.. the first 8 min. or so were BORING, although interesting to see Gowen on one leg. I got into the match a little when Gowen made his comeback. Vince being busted open was SICK. The blood was pouring, and in a matter of seconds, the blood on the mat was near Austin-Bret WM 13 proportions! Still, I wonder where this finish gets Gowen in terms of a push. Am I supposed to believe that Gowen can beat someone like Kanyon or Funaki (It'll probably happen sooner or later), but not Vince McMahon?

 

The Triple Threat was a great match, although I liked last years Rock-Taker-Angle a tad more. Too many finishers in the early part of the match. I was loving the portion where Brock and Angle were left all alone, with bloody faces, to wrestle after Show went through the table. Another great spot was the Ankle Lock on Brock... He charges into the post, and Angle pulls him back. The Angle Slam ending was quite surprising, though. You have kick-outs of chokeslams and other impact moves, but one Angle Slam put Brock out like that? Don't get me wrong, though, I'm not really complaining.

 

Bottom line... this is a show that WWE and SD wrestlers should be proud of. Smart order of matches, too. They spread out the three best matches evenly in the US Title, Tag Title, and main event.

Just got home from watching Vengeance with Devin Thunder, Stardust Kid, Convict & Sonny Direnzo (Friends from the NWF...CHEAP POP in the sig!) and we all loved the show: A few notes.

 

-Vince getting busted open hardway was fucking sick. Unreal.

 

-The technical difficultes in the first match showing the outside arena was funny as hell.

 

-The randomness of the Easter Bunny coming out of nowhere was funny as hell.

 

-Powerbomb from Brock to Big Show was sick.

 

-We all cheered when Angle won, just like we did at Armageddon.

 

That's all I can think of right now. Big Thumbs Up.

Vengeance was alright. It was better than Bad Blood at least even though I hated most of the results of tonight's event.

 

Benoit / Guerrero - I was shocked they opened the PPV match with this. Simply amazing performance from them as usually. The match also went pretty long which was another shocked, but it was a good shocker, I knew Rhyno was gonna make the inevitable turn though. Great, great match though. I loved it, props to both guys. Thumbs up.

 

Noble / Gunn - Billy lost so I was happy. LOL @ Torrie! Thumbs up.

 

APA Invitational Bar Room Brawl - was surprisely and actually entertaining. It was great to see Kanyon and Matt Hardy on the PPV at least in some way. Too bad, Bradshaw won, I was marking for Doink, Kanyon, or Funaki! Great segment, bad ending.

 

TWGTT Vs. Mysterio / Kidman - Another great match. Kidman was f'n crazy doing the top rope SSP. I knew Haas / Benjamin were gonna win, but I agreed with the crowd that it was BS that Haas kicked out of the top rope hurricarana. I was disappointed they didn't do the Leapfrog Special. Kidman also didn't make his rumored heel turn to my surprise. Great match, bad ending.

 

Stephanie Vs. Sable - We got this on the PPV and Ultimo Dragon . Kanyon on Heat? This women's match had sheer gayness written all over it. Sable was made to look completely frail. No idea what was up with A-Train, wasn't he supposed to be in the Bar Room Brawl? I'm glad Sable won, but I HATED the way she was potrayed. Bad match, good ending.

 

John Cena Vs. The Undertaker - Cena got screwed! He had that match won. FUCK YOU UNDERTAKER! Great match, bad ending.

 

Vince McMahon Vs. Zack Gowen - Despite how much I hate the guy, when his head got busted with the way his blood was pouring out, I was actually concerned for his well-being. Zack lost so HA HA! Thumbs up.

 

Brock Lesnar Vs. Kurt Angle Vs. Big Show - All I got to say about this is...NNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! I didn't want Brock to lose, not tonight anyway. If the match was gonna turn out like that, why did they bother sticking Big Show in? I didn't get the screwjob I was expecting either. :? Thanks God, Big Show didn't win. Congrats to Kurt, but they should have waited 'til SS. Brock didn't do his heel turn either to my disappointment. Oh well. Thumbs up.
