Interesting bit on necrophilia angle

"Tongue", which is Kiss Star Gene Simmons men's magazine recently interviewed HHH. In the article when asked about the necrophilia angle, HHH said that when he originally pitched the idea to Vince, it was meant to be a parody in the vein of the old DX skits. Then he said Vince changed the tone to be more darker. He said Vince wanted the fans to think "man, what a sick fucker" as opposed to HHH just trying to be tastelessly funny which was more consistent with his character.

Some people thought it was nastiest shit they ever saw on RAW (because of the concept) and others thought it was funny as fuck (because it was a blow-up doll after all). Depends on how you looked at it.

My thing is HHH wanted it to be a funny, mocking bit while Vince wanted it to be anything but. He wanted it to cross the line into sickness. It makes the bit go from passable to notorious and it's Vince's mind that took it to the next level.

Also I remember the night HHH returned from the quad tear, he got like a 5 minute ovation and when it went quiet, a fan shouted 'You suck!' at the top of his voice. Good times.

I remember an HHH promo from just before Judgment Day 2002. Someone shouted VERY loudly "You suck!" in the middle of it. Then Edge came out, got 'what'ed, and after that HHH told him "For all the things I am, there's one thing I'm not.." and before he can finish a fan shouted "A wrestler!"

 

And how can I be the first in this thread to bring up the HHHonk? I'm still amazed at how he was able to make that noise.

My thoughts are... I wished the angle had never been thought of.

 

BUT... if it was going to be done, HHH's way was the right way to do it. Shroter, more over the top, less serious, etc.
