Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted July 31, 2003 I'm from the same town as former Vice President Dan Quayle. Other than that, we have some sick fucker now and again that makes the news. Like the person that killed some woman with a crossbow and got away. Or Dr. Bodkin, the guy who was castrating willing people, who went to jail for practicing medicine without a liscense. In 1999, Klein High School was voted 2nd Snobbiest School in the nation (behind Beverley Hills) on David Lettermen's Top Ten List. Part of the movie Tin Cup was filmed at the country club right down the road from me. Wow you don't live far from me at all. I'm talking 10 - 15 minute drive at the most. I'm on 1960 now, a block after Wolfies.

Guest papacita Report post Posted July 31, 2003 Philly is known for the World Famous PAPACITA, of course... Or cheesestaeaks...whatever. You live in Philly? Do you ever check out CZW or ROH? Not really. CZW never really did anything for me and ROH dropped off my radar after they cancelled their TV show. Plus I've pretty much stopped going to wrestling shows all together. Rochester, New York? Eh, we're famous for ... um, our lake effect snow, Kodak's birthplace, and we're called the Flower City, we've got these Lilac Festivals... You know, Chyna was born in Rochester... Just sayin...
Guest Aero Report post Posted July 31, 2003 Toms River, NJ... In the summer of 1998, the Toms River Little League team won World Series by beating Japan. The team went on a few talk shows (I remember Rosie O'Donnel) and they even met then-President Bill Clinton. The event even warrented mention by the WWF because at Summerslam 1998, during the Oddities vs. Kaientai match, JR randomly says something like, "Kaientai isn't doing good.. kinda like Japan did yesterday in the Little League World Series when Toms River, NJ, defeated them." Pretty cool having JR & King talk about your small hometown at a major PPV.
Guest edotherocket Report post Posted July 31, 2003 Brunei Darussalam is famous for the Sultan of Brunei who used to be the richest man in the world until his brother squandered 40 BILLION dollars of his fortune. His son Prince Malik who went to my school is a bigtime wrestling mark. He actually was in phone contact with some of his favourite wrestlers (Psycho Sid and Bret Hart). I think he is largely responsible for Michael Cole and Jim Ross occasionally mentioning Brunei (despite only having a population of 300,000) when they do the rundown of countries the PPV is running live in so he can mark out over hearing his country being named. Murmuring Beast: I picked up a Queen's Park football shirt when I was there on holiday a few years back. Is it still the Irn Bru orange and blue strip? Of course he mentions it when talking about Bradshaw and that ruins the effect right there. I was in a class taught by a guy who knew Bradshaw when he went there. Said he was always in trouble with the school because of his drinking.

Guest ViciousFish Report post Posted July 31, 2003 Lloydminster is famous for a couple things even though its the asshole of the universe It's the only Canadian border city being on the border between Alberta and Saskatchewan and we have 2 giant metal carrot looking thingies to mark the border which cost the city government approximately $750K to buy and close to a million to upkeep and tear down and put back up. It was on a list of places that would be nuked in the event of Canada entering a war with several nations due to the enourmous amout of oil the city produces. Scott Hartnell from some NHL team is from Lloydminster. I actually graduated with him.
