WukenBloodstar 0 Report post Posted August 11, 2003 Well, that explains a lot. Are the Type Rs RWD or FWD? And how the heck did your friend get a hold of one? Don't they only import 500 or so real ones a year? The Type R's(I believe..only ran a year or so) Which means..Honda are too chicken to release the Civic and RSX Type R, I would kill for a US release of the NSX-R tho', that car is flat out sweet. Like most Honda's..I'd presume it'd be FWD...the type R I mean, instead of products from like..AEM and Venom..he should have dropped in Spoon, APEX`i and fucking TODA~! Racing parts. Guest HBK16 Report post Posted August 11, 2003 The SRT-4 is a model of the Neon. Base price - $13,000 SXT - $14,000 R/T - $17,000 SRT 4 - $19,000 Its like comparing the Civic LX, DX and so on. Therefore still be a Neon. Neon's ave a history of being a girls car.
WukenBloodstar 0 Report post Posted August 11, 2003 The SRT-4, for when you and your girlfirneds..need that ratty car..get this! Goo look at Dodges's website..scroll to cars..funny...the SRT-4 isn't listed with the Neon car..so..does this mean it's NOT a Neon..tune in next week! Guest HBK16 Report post Posted August 11, 2003 Every where you go you will see it listed as neon. I guarantee it. Neon SRT-4.
Guest HBK16 Report post Posted August 11, 2003 And if more proof is needed, check out... Autotrader.com Ebay.com Caranddriver.com They all have it listed as the Dodge Neon SRT-
WukenBloodstar 0 Report post Posted August 11, 2003 Since When? I didn't know Dodge suddenly changed their minds and started calling it the Neon SRT-4, it's been the SRT-4, not the Neon SRT-4, just..the SRT-4.
Guest HBK16 Report post Posted August 11, 2003 You may be right Wuken. I am going by what I know and what I heard. From what I heard everyone is calling it a model of the Neon. I dont know too much about domestics so I could have this all wrong.
El Psycho Diablo 0 Report post Posted August 11, 2003 Wuken's right. It's listed as the "Dodge SRT-4". ..and the Neon is not a girl's car. (That's a New Beetle, really.)
WukenBloodstar 0 Report post Posted August 11, 2003 Other than sharing the same platform with a Neon, the SRT-4(model history wise) Shares nothing with a Neon..it's listed as the SRT-4, and the Neon..IMO..never was a girls cars..ever seen a Neon turbo charged to nearly 300 hp(1st Gen Neons..not the SRT-4) The Neon..(1st gen) has some tuning you can do to make it a quick car. I don't count the Maita has a girls car either..the new beetle however...that's a chick car.
Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted August 11, 2003 The Cobra isn't listed with the Mustangs on Ford's site, but it's still a Mustang. Anyways, yeah, an NSX-R would be simply beyond sweet. I've kinda always wanted a Zinc Yellow NSX like the one I have in Sega GT 2002.
Guest HBK16 Report post Posted August 11, 2003 Just got back from the Dodge site. Its listed as the SRT-4. You were right. Sorry. I was just going by what I saw.
Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted August 15, 2003 The Miata and new Beetle are girl cars, end of story. Now then, I'm starting to get really pissed off that we get these little sprinklings of rain every fucking day since I've had the GT, so I ALWAYS have these water spots ALL OVER it. It's getting really annoying. What's worse is when it happens at work and then the guy comes by to blow all the debris out of the parking lot and blows crap onto the already-wet car. Grr... Guest El Satanico Report post Posted August 15, 2003 Mustangs were considered "chick cars" back in the early years when they were owned mainly by Nurses and other young women. Besides I don't think you can call the Neon a "chick car" since there were no aspects that "spoke" to women more than to men. It was just an economy car. Hey, I think I found my point. If the car in question has real power, it doesn't matter what roots it was born from. Unless you want to call all English style sports cars "chicks cars" you can't call the Miata one. If you make that claim, the Truimph owners amoung others would like to have a word with you.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted August 15, 2003 I see more chicks in Neon's then just about ANY car... I'm getting annoyed seeing more chicks driving big trucks like mine...
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted August 15, 2003 Because they are cheap and it's all daddy will buy or all they can afford to pay on. It's not because they appeal to them. Neons, Cavaliers and base model civics are the most common new(er) cars for people under 20, not just girls.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted August 15, 2003 I've driven Neons plently of times... WHY do people like that box Death car? It's seriously annoyingly small and compact...
SteakGrowsOnUecker 0 Report post Posted August 15, 2003 I absolutely hate Neons I know 3 people with them and those things are the worst car. They run like crap and constantly need maintenance. Same thing goes with Cavaliers, my sister has one. It's uncomfortable to drive. The thing is just too compact. God knows what a Geo Metro would be like. Guest Choken One Report post Posted August 15, 2003 Exactly...Which is why they cost $13,000 bucks... Treat yourself nice and buy a nice used Truck or Bigger car and stop buying compact death traps because they were in Fast and Furious.
SteakGrowsOnUecker 0 Report post Posted August 15, 2003 That movie alone raised the price of Honda Civics, which don't really even impress me all that much.
Guest HBK16 Report post Posted August 15, 2003 Maybe someone can help me out here. My brother installed a cold air intake. Now the car doesnt run. The engine goes dead. We tried to raise the idle a little but it still dies. Anybody have any more solutions?
Guest Choken One Report post Posted August 15, 2003 Umm...Take it out ?
Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted August 16, 2003 Have someone really qualified do it.
Guest HBK16 Report post Posted August 16, 2003 Cold air intakes are really easy to install. I have done it to hundreds of cars. I just dont know why my brothers Mirage cant handle it.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted August 16, 2003 because it's a fucking Mirage...
SteakGrowsOnUecker 0 Report post Posted August 16, 2003 It's always a bad idea to start dicking around with the idle. When someone says lets try adjusting the idle when something doesn't work then you know they really don't know what to do.
Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted August 16, 2003 Yeah, I only messed with the idle on my Caprice because it was carbureted and I had the hexagonal screwdriver heads to adjust it with. It wasn't for the hell of it though, it was so the engine wouldn't shut off at intersections since the fuel lines were so clogged with varnish from gas sitting in them for a year. I could drive around without touching the gas pedal, my top speed idling was 40.
SteakGrowsOnUecker 0 Report post Posted August 16, 2003 Whoa, that's definitely when you have to mess with idle. If it's dying out at intersections you have to do something. I once saw a perfectly good car gets idle messed with by someone who just liked messing around with idle and the car was never the same again. They never could get the car to run the same way again. That's why I make messing with the idle a last resort case. With your Caprice that was definitely the right thing to do to fix the problem. You just have to be really careful. Guest HBK16 Report post Posted August 17, 2003 Well since messing with the idle it has worked pretty good. No reports of the engine shutting off.
