Guest El Satanico Report post Posted August 13, 2003 Oh don't worry...If it lasts past this season Fox will move it to Friday to replace Boston Public.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted August 13, 2003 Fox Makes no sense...B.P had good ratings and it moves it to shit central? OC has that Dawson Creek hit written all over it... but I have a feeling it'll get canceled because it's good and fox can't have that...
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted August 13, 2003 Fox believes Fridays is a ratings hot spot and that it's just a matter of finding the right show. Hopefully Boston Public bombing out will show them that X-Files being a big hit on Fridays was a fluke.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted August 13, 2003 Yeah...Ratings went UP for X-Files anyways when it moved...
Astro101 0 Report post Posted August 13, 2003 I think they said they will move OC to Thursdays after a few weeks. Ryan seems too laid back, but I guess that's cool because he's not the typical bad boy. He's just "troubled". And who knew the boyfriend had a heart?
OldSchoolWrestling 0 Report post Posted August 13, 2003 And who knew the boyfriend had a heart? I thought it was a bit too early to turn the main heel into a tweener. Ok so last week I thought the neighbor's wife was the hottie. This week I think the blonde wife is the hottie.
Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted August 13, 2003 Funny that Choken compared O.C. to being a Dawson's Creek style hit, because last night I was getting the total early-Creek Joey/Pacey vibe from Seth and Marissa when they kept bickering. Next week looks good, with Ryan in juvy and it looks like he'll win the mom over by defending her (from what I saw in the previews).
Vyce 0 Report post Posted August 13, 2003 If Friday's such a goddamn hot spot, they shouldn't have cancelled John Doe.
Guest ErekT2k Report post Posted August 13, 2003 Second episode was not bad but there was a scene that was overly corny IMO. It was the scene where Ryan and Marissa were alone together in Ryan's secret hideaway and wen Marissa came in, started yapping on and Ryan said she couldn't stay and all, it was really predictable cuz its been done. That was the downside to me. Overall, I really love the series, really making me hate waiting one week for a new episode.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted August 18, 2003 *Bump* Show comes on at 8. Finally some non football goodness on Monday!
Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted August 19, 2003 Bump. New ep tonight. It sucks that it's being moved to Thursdays now, as that'll fuck up my whole taping schedule. At least I'll have something to entertain me if we keep getting Steph/A-Train matches on Smackdown.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted August 19, 2003 Thursday? That's a death sentence... What happened to it going to Monday? It may have succeeded if it was scheduled at 8 on Mondays.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted August 20, 2003 Yeah...Or give it the Tuesday 24 lead in...
Guest Choken One Report post Posted August 20, 2003 dUG THE COUNTDOWN...Reminds me of
Guest Choken One Report post Posted August 20, 2003 Good Show again..but They need to just have the dude get beat up more often...and Don't make seth cool and popular...like David and Pacey...they were more fun when they were scarcastic losers
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted August 20, 2003 I doubt they are making Seth into a cool or popular kid. I'm sure by next episode that girl won't even remember him.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted August 20, 2003 True...But I had flashbacks of David Silver and Donna with that Whole casino scene...
OldSchoolWrestling 0 Report post Posted August 20, 2003 On the previews last week and early this week they show Ryan and Marissa in a swimming pool looking like they are about to kiss but I didn't see that last night. Is that from a future episode or what?
Guest Choken One Report post Posted August 20, 2003 future episode
Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted September 12, 2003 This past week's episode had to be one of the best ones aired so far. Next week is the last show on Tuesdays before it moves to Thursdays (pretty sure it's still keeping the 9pm timeslot but honestly I haven't checked Fox's site yet). They've done a great job of building things up, and the preview for next week looked AWESOME. If you missed this week's, or the preview/commercial for this Tuesday... Spoiler (Highlight to Read): Jimmy Cooper asks Kiersten what it would be like if they were still together, and then another scene shows him kiss her. The kids (Ryan, Seth, Marissa, Luke and I would assume Summer) go on a final fling before school starts, and Ryan winds up knocking Luke on his ass once again, telling him that he doesn't deserve Marissa. It then showed Ryan and Marissa waking up next to each other. This week was great as well, with Kiersten's father coming to visit (along with his 24 year old girlfriend). Basically, Luke was trying to not be a dick after getting shot, the g/f of the grandfather hit on Ryan, Summer kissed Seth after realizing how much attention he's paid to her, and Jimmy Cooper's wife said she wants a divorce, and it looked like she was flirting with Kiersten's father. Then, of course, Marissa walked in when the 24 year old was all over Ryan, and she wound up leaving with Luke and supposedly lost her virginity to him (it showed them messing around and she said she was ready, but then it cut to when she got dropped off at home. Ryan approached her and she turned and said "It's too late", then walked inside). Sorry for the rant, but I know this show gained some fans on this board. It surprised me at how good it really is (I thought it would just be more teen fluff that only I liked, lol). Chalk it up as an update to anyone who hasn't seen the last ep or two. OldSchoolWrestling 0 Report post Posted September 12, 2003 For me its a can't miss show. I love all the characters and for me that's saying something. Summer kissing Seth was a huge swerve for me and I thought it was great. Ryan actually blowing it by getting caught was cool, and why is it that the next door neighbor reminds me of IC Champ Christian???

Ryan actually blowing it by getting caught was cool, and why is it that the next door neighbor reminds me of IC Champ Christian??? Jimmy Cooper reminds you of Christian? And I tend to agree on the characters. They've been developed way past the teen show staples (outsider, nerd, popular-yet-sweet girl, preppy dick). Seriously, when Marissa walked in on Ryan and Gabriella, I went "SHIT!" I couldn't believe after building up everything between them the last few eps, he would blow it like that. If anything, I figured the grandfather would have walked in and accused Ryan of putting unwanted advances on Gabriella (remember how he kept calling him a delinquent and berating the Cohens for adopting him?). Then Kiersten would have stood up for Ryan, and eventually herself.

Guest DonWestMark03 Report post Posted September 12, 2003 I really enjoy the show, it's nice that they drew out some of the storylines, instead of immediately making Ryan part of the family in the first episode. It's pretty similar to "Everwood," a show I also like.
Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Report post Posted September 13, 2003 The high school kids look like they are 27. Its just a low rate Dawsons Creek....and that should say a lot.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted September 13, 2003 I thought it was a melodramatic piece of crap.
Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted September 14, 2003 Any of you guys that are fans of the show, I was able to download the theme song on WinMX. It's called "California" and it's by Phantom Planet.
Hogan Made Wrestling 0 Report post Posted September 15, 2003 I like it a lot. Benjamin McKenzie (Ryan) is great, and everyone is picking up on the Russell Crowe similarity, both in look and in his subdued, smoldering style of speech. He's got a lot of potential for the future. OldSchoolWrestling 0 Report post Posted September 15, 2003 Another note I wanted to add was the coolnes off the dad, Sandy. He's a surfer and his father in law outed him as a previous pot smoker from Berkeley. Gold. He looks like a previous hippie.
