alfdogg Posted August 10, 2003 Report Posted August 10, 2003 And with NEW LEVELS~! I read about it in some magazine at Wal-Mart. I think it's set for winter, but don't quote me on that. Rest assure, though, that I will run out and buy it the minute it hits the stands. Also, if you haven't heard (but you probably have, it was in the June issue of Game Informer), there will be a new Mario Kart game released this winter, called Mario Kart Double Dash. You can play it with up to 8 players (I don't know how anyone could get eight people together to play Mario Kart, though), but you need two TVs and two Gamecubes linked together for that. There are two players in the cart, and it seems a lot more challenging than the other MK games.
Guest Eagan469 Posted August 10, 2003 Report Posted August 10, 2003 ? Mario Advance 3 will not have any new levels other than the same Mario Bros. game that has been included with 1 and 2. It's a straight port of the Super Mario All-Stars version of Super Mario Bros. 3.

It will be released as Super Mario Advance 4 2. Nintendo plans to upgraded the original 8-Bit version from scratch as opposed to them simply porting the SNES Super Mario All-Stars version to the Game Boy Advance without any major changes to the game like they did with Super Mario 2/SMA1. 3. It will be the first major game release by Nintendo for the GBA to make HEAVY use the E-Card Reader. 4. One of the major rumors about the game is that Nintendo will be eleminating the ability to get power-ups and the Super-Suit power-up through-out the game via Toad Houses, Hammer Brothers, and treasure chests and instead will require you to buy packs of E-Reader cards and scanning them into the game in order to get power ups and Super-Suit power-ups.
razazteca Posted August 10, 2003 Report Posted August 10, 2003 The japanese ROM has been out for weeks. Listed as 1093 Super Mario Advance 4 (J) (Eurasia).zip It was made for the new Game Boy Player so it should look good on the tv if you have a Gamecube.
Guest I'm That Damn Zzzzz Posted August 12, 2003 Report Posted August 12, 2003 (edited) The game has been dumbed down a tad bit: 1. The first Venus Fire Trap in level 1-1 is replaced with a scrub pirannah plant, as were some others. 2.In level 1-6: the platform that looks like this: XX XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX ...B....LLLLL Has an extra block where B is XX XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX ...BB....LLLLL (key: X - platform B - block L - Floating Lift) so it's easier to land on. 3. Coins that automagically appear when a P switch is stepped on now spin rather than just face forward. Those were the most apparent changes I noticed, there may be more. Karnage Posted August 12, 2003 Report Posted August 12, 2003 Anyone know if those hidden flutes are still at those same places?

THAT would suck.

Are you sure his name is Shigeru Miyamoto, and not Shigeru McMahon?

Are you sure his name is Shigeru Miyamoto, and not Shigeru McMahon? My Super Mario All Stars + Super Mario World cartridge still works fine. I'll keep it and pass on this ripoff. If they added some exclusives that the E-Reader was needed for, that'd be one thing. However, taking something that was already in the game and making it only usable with the E-Reader is another.
alfdogg Posted August 25, 2003 Author Report Posted August 25, 2003 There *are* new levels and new powerups in the game, but you have to use the E-cards to get them. The September GameNOW magazine is my source, and there are a couple screenshots of new levels in the magazine as well.
Lightning Flik Posted August 25, 2003 Report Posted August 25, 2003 No offense, but I'm supposed to pick this up why? After having FFO, FFA & FFC be tediously pissy, why would Mario 3 on the GBA be any different to be badly redone? I learned my lesson after FFO. Sure I don't own either game in FFO, but neither was worth the purchase of $50-60 (CDN). And this certainly will not be.
