The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted August 18, 2003 Now I know this is going to get the usual amount of "You're just HHHating" responses... But I have to say it. I was bothered a great deal going into WrestleMania this year by the WWE's refusal to acknowledge Kurt Angle's bad neck. It was a SERIOUS injury that could have ended his career that night. Now...he was the heel and all...so they just didn't mention it going in. Fine. Then why do I have to see HHH bring up his hurt groin going into a match where he'll most likely FINALLY drop the title? How cheap is that? HHH will finally lose and the excuse has already been presented on TV. Angle could have died and nothing.
Guest CronoT Report post Posted August 18, 2003 Because Triple H is a "kitty cat," and a coward who will use any means necessary to keep control of his gravy train, even if he has to run it into the ground.
Guest TonyJaymzV1 Report post Posted August 18, 2003 Kurt Angle is a badass motherfucker who'll go out there and risk his life, not wanting any pity and not caring if someone comes off beating him with no strings attached. Triple H is a whiny, obsessive, prick who cares more about himself and how he is percieved than how the company and his opponents are. Basically, Angle is a Man's Man! no regal remarks, please.... Bored 0 Report post Posted August 18, 2003 Because he's HHH...I mean that's as simple as it gets. He will never, ever again be beaten when the odds are even and he is considered to be completely healthy. He can only lose now if the odds are against him and even then he still wins 9 times out of 10. I don't think one can even assume he will be dropping the title this weekend. I thought it was a lock when the first changed it to an elimination chamber but now I'm leaning towards him retaining once again.
the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted August 18, 2003 Because Angle was a heel so Brock couldn't look like an underdog, unlike HHH who is a.....hmm thats not it. How about this, they want to stack the odds against HHH so that when he loses it gives the winner a rub.......don't think so. How about the fact he hasn't wrestled a normal Raw schedule in at least a year now and they don't want fans to think he is a worthless piece of shit. Anyway, stop your HHHating. The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted August 18, 2003 I remember a time when Kane was injured and he was the last remaining person on the roster that HHH hadn't avenged his loss too and I told everyone that HHH would be sure to collect that one before too long. With interest too, I might add now. The only person on the roster who's up on him is HBK...by one fall.

Someone should shoved a spiked "instrument" up Levesque's ass, so he'll know how he's been treating everyone and everything in the company.
jester 0 Report post Posted August 18, 2003 Bps is right. With Angle you can understand why they were in a tight spot because if they said anything, there's an excuse for Angle, or worse, sympathy, which they can't have if he's a heel. But in HHH's case, they are not even presenting the injury like it would be with 99.9% of other heels--using suspicious injuries as a cop-out excuse not to face guys like Goldberg. Nope, instead we have to know that he exhausted himself having sex. Yeah, I'd say there's a double standard.
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Report post Posted August 18, 2003 Because it would've cheapened Brock's win in the resolution to the biggest storyline of the year, at the biggest match, on the biggest card of the year. Now go cry about HHH bitches, his show gets better ratings then Angle's.

JHawk 0 Report post Posted August 18, 2003 Now go cry about HHH bitches, his show gets better ratings then Angle's. Because UPN affiliates show local sports programming in that timeslot, so half the country can't find the damned thing.
the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted August 18, 2003 Lets see. They "injured" Lesnar before the match to make him look better in the end I guess. It would have been such an awful storyline if you had these two wrestlers, both injured, both willing to sacrifice everything to win the title at WM. And just because Raw gets a better rating doesn't mean more people watch it over SD.
JHawk 0 Report post Posted August 18, 2003 And just because Raw gets a better rating doesn't mean more people watch it over SD. Also true, as I think the difference between a 1.0 in cable and a 1.0 in broadcast is around 200,000 homes. So a Raw 4.0 = app. 3 million homes while a SmackDown 4.0 would equal about 3.8 million homes. So the audiences are about the same each week, depending on preemptions of SmackDown
Guest The Old Me Report post Posted August 18, 2003 I HHHate him as much as the next guy, but does it ever stop? No wonder he hates you. He's going to always protect himself. Deal.

Yeah he's off the roster but you know Levensque is writing up the contract as we speak... The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted August 18, 2003 I'm sorry but It's ridiculous to have this long of a heel title reign and then discredit any payoff going in. And as for Angle/Lesnar being the biggest storyline of the year... I seem to recall Hogan/Vince getting 99% of the advertising and buildup. "20 years in the making" and all. You can use the "Well it went on last: line...but not without trying to explain how HHH/Jericho was the draw over Hogan/Rock at Mania 18.
Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted August 19, 2003 I was bothered a great deal going into WrestleMania this year by the WWE's refusal to acknowledge Kurt Angle's bad neck. It was a SERIOUS injury that could have ended his career that night. Now...he was the heel and all...so they just didn't mention it going in. Well, Kurt did admit about the neck problem at the WM XIX when asked by a journalist about the rumor. It was after that, Cole/Tazz mentioned it on SD. Kurt was then interviewed by WWE RAW Magazine later on and said he risked paralysis or death by toughing it, but didn't want to miss out on Wrestlemania (finally working to the top by main eventing it and missing it because of bad luck)? He was concerned about that experimental surgery and said that if it didn't work out, he wanted to give 100% percent in his thought to be last WWE match. I'm glad he went through with it. He certainly deserved to have the spot and he did help put on a outstanding match.
Jobber of the Week 0 Report post Posted August 19, 2003 Why? Because Kurt Angle is the most legitimate tough-as-nails son of a bitch on the entire roster. If these fights were a shoot, you'd pretty much have Angle, Lesnar, Benoit, and Jericho. HHH & Undertaker would be tear-down crew.

iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted August 19, 2003 I certainly was in favor of them announcing Angle's injury before Wrestlemania. The whole storyline was so damn weak anyway that it was just begging for a double turn. Angle retaining and then Benoit beating Brock in a tournament at Backlash would have been a hell of a lot more entertaining than what actually happened. Instead we have the double turn anyway, but instead of it kind of making sense, it comes out of nowhere with half the impact, and Angle/Lesnar at SS has 1/10 the heat it would have if Brock was illegitimately holding "Kurt's" title. As for HHH announcing his injury, it doesn't bother me in the least. He's still losing the title to Goldberg Sunday, and he's still gonna job clean to Goldberg at Unforgiven. The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted August 19, 2003 " and he's still gonna job clean to Goldberg at Unforgiven" BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Silly rabbit. He'll be a face by then so they can cut the legs off of Goldberg

Fökai 0 Report post Posted August 19, 2003 Why will he be face? Everyone will boo him anyway. So? They'll rectify that by putting HHH over every heel on the brand. Take last year for example - on a SD!-brand show in a match against Billy Gunn (with Palumbo and Rico on the outside), he defeated Gunn cleanly, then took out Chuck and Rico with seperate Pedigrees. The only time he jobbed as a face last spring/summer, was to an even BIGGER face - one that was FIFTEEN YEARS older than him, and a top-tier character that didn't need the job, unlike every HEEL during that time: I would've loved to see HHH's reaction, if the writers booked HIM to job to Lesnar on a Smackdown! show, back when Brock had no heat. iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted August 19, 2003 He also jobbed to Taker at KOR. In fact, Jericho was the only person he beat on PPV from when he won the Royal Rumble until when he beat RVD for the World Title 6 months later.
