Downhome 0 Report post Posted August 20, 2003 Here, this is from 1wrestling... WWE has been advertising a Zach Gowen vs. Brock Lesnar match with Vince McMahon as special ref for the Smackdown taping tonight. The company not only announced the main event days ago, but has been heavily advertising the match in the local Detroit area (where the taping is). The company has now pulled the match from the taping. It appears that WWE already knew last week that they weren't going to go through with the match, but failed to pull ads anyway. ...I pulled that from another thread here, heh. MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted August 20, 2003 I thought we were getting a OLM beatdown by the REAL BROCK LESNAR? That would be worth the price of admiss..er..uh.. you get the point. They cancel a match that many people would actually wanna see, probably in favor of Big Show/Albert/Lesnar vs Taker/Angle/????

Guest Boomer Sprinklespax Report post Posted August 20, 2003 Not necessarily my favorite SD! match, but the one I always remember for some reason is HHH/Rock with Shawn Michaels as the special guest referee, the match where Shawn superkicked Rock just before the People's Elbow. I remember really liking that match at the time.

Guest Boo_Bradley Report post Posted August 20, 2003 Bubba Ray Dudley apparently came up with the angle last night on RAW where they dress Rob Conway up as a serviceman and bring him in the ring to honor the U.S.A., only to have him turn on the Dudleys and join La Resistance. At the K-1 pay-per view on Friday, Mike Tyson, who was in attendance, jumped the rail and confronted Bob "The Beast" Sapp after his knockout victory over Kimo Leopoldo. Tyson challenged Sapp to a gloveless boxing match right then and there, but Sapp then said he would fight Tyson in a boxing match, K-1 match, or MMA match. After Raw went off the air, HHH rounded up evolution and headed to the back. Nash and HBK also got up and headed backstage, which left Goldberg in the ring. Stone cold came down in a drinking mood, and after a few beers tossed a few to Goldberg. They drank for a while, and Goldberg gave a few out to fans (is that legal?) while Austin layed the cans down and stomped on the, spraying it into the crowd. The Austin grabbed the mic and informed us it was Lilian Garcia's birthday. Both he and Goldberg made comments about coming back to their hotel rooms, which she laughed off. Then the two of them, arm in arm, sang her happy birthday! Never thought I'd see the day...she then toasted Austin style while slamming beers, and Austin and Goldberg both cracked one open and poured it all over...end of show.
