AndrewTS Posted August 24, 2003 Report Posted August 24, 2003 The Coach--ha! Another wrestlecrap inductee!
AndrewTS Posted August 24, 2003 Report Posted August 24, 2003 Cool finish...although why does WWE insist on not showing full matches for FTV?
Guest Choken One Posted August 24, 2003 Report Posted August 24, 2003 Perfect tapped before bret even applied it...I always dug that...
Guest Dmann2000 Posted August 24, 2003 Report Posted August 24, 2003 Little slo-mo at the end..that was classy.
Guest Dmann2000 Posted August 24, 2003 Report Posted August 24, 2003 Brain-"He hit a man with glasses!" I always loved that quip from the Brain.
Bruiser Chong Posted August 24, 2003 Report Posted August 24, 2003 Perfect didn't tap. As much as I love that match, Hebner calls for the bell so fast in that match that it ends up looking more like a screwjob than Montreal did.
Guest Fook Posted August 24, 2003 Report Posted August 24, 2003 Nice slow mo there with Bret kissing the belt.
Guest Dmann2000 Posted August 24, 2003 Report Posted August 24, 2003 Perfect tapped before bret even applied it...I always dug that... I know, he doesn't even sit back and Hebner's already ringing the bell. Hart looks surprised, like Hennig gave up quicker than he was supposed to.

I know he didn't tap but Modern Day Wrestling makes me infer any submission=tap. So when even in 1982 clip...I still say now "He tapped".

Henning's back was so severely fucked...He "tapped" the second pressure was applied...He likely couldn't stand that little pain as it was and just "tapped" right away...

Yeah, sometimes I get jumpy when I see some one tapping in a submission hold in old matches. "Tapping" as a way to submit didn't come into WWE until Shamrock came in and they started to build up the anklelock.
Guest Choken One Posted August 24, 2003 Report Posted August 24, 2003 It's funny because watch some early 90's wwf matches wrestlers in submission holds would tap the living hell outta the ring and yet it was not a sign of giving up...
Guest Dmann2000 Posted August 24, 2003 Report Posted August 24, 2003 I'm watching COTC XVIII and I just had a thought. The Steiners (circa 90-92) vs Angle/Lesnar
AndrewTS Posted August 24, 2003 Report Posted August 24, 2003 It's funny because watch some early 90's wwf matches wrestlers in submission holds would tap the living hell outta the ring and yet it was not a sign of giving up... WCW, too. I noticed it in some Flair matches as well.
Guest Choken One Posted August 24, 2003 Report Posted August 24, 2003 Or better yet Steiners Vs WGTT.
Guest Choken One Posted August 24, 2003 Report Posted August 24, 2003 Or better yet Steiners Vs WGTT. But yeah with the Amatur awesomeness there...wow.
Guest Choken One Posted August 24, 2003 Report Posted August 24, 2003 Scott Steiner Circa 1992 Vs Kurt Angle...Would be in my mind would blow almost anything away
AndrewTS Posted August 24, 2003 Report Posted August 24, 2003 Or better yet Steiners Vs WGTT. But yeah with the Amatur awesomeness there...wow. Pfft--Steiners in their prime vs. WGTT when they peak.
Guest Dmann2000 Posted August 24, 2003 Report Posted August 24, 2003 Who knows maybe if you put Kurt in whit Scotty today, it might rejuvinate him.
Guest Choken One Posted August 24, 2003 Report Posted August 24, 2003 Or send him back to Dr. Jho... I don't trust Steiner throwing Angle around...
AndrewTS Posted August 24, 2003 Report Posted August 24, 2003 Who knows maybe if you put Kurt in whit Scotty today, it might rejuvinate him. *remembers Steiner nearly fucking up majorly on a powerbomb vs. HHH* Er, hell no.
Guest Dmann2000 Posted August 24, 2003 Report Posted August 24, 2003 When you think about the number of dream matches we never got, it's heartbreaking.
Guest Dmann2000 Posted August 24, 2003 Report Posted August 24, 2003 Or send him back to Dr. Jho... I don't trust Steiner throwing Angle around... Can he fix ankles?

Guest Choken One Posted August 24, 2003 Report Posted August 24, 2003 Or send him back to Dr. Jho... I don't trust Steiner throwing Angle around... Can he fix ankles? I don't think Angle will be going in for Ankle repairs with Steiner's shall we say...ERATIC overhead suplexes.
