the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted August 24, 2003 Gordon - HHH (Has achieved in the past, making people think he is still that guy. Bitches when things don't go his way) Michael Waltrip - Booker T (Took years to finally get to the top, had a brief run of high finishes, now back to midcard) Robby Gordon - RVD (Came in with a rough start [wrecking people = potato shots] finally started to get going but still seems to put foot in mouth or do stupid things sometimes)
the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted August 24, 2003 Wallace is the Undertaker... I could see that. I think that would turn Kenseth into Angle. More talented capable of running away with a race, but always in the top scene even if he isn't lighting it on fire.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted August 24, 2003 Kenseth=Benoit. Talented but lacking personality.

the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted August 24, 2003 I would give that to Bobby Labonte. A past champion, when his car allows can have a great race, but isn't given many opportunities and is likely to never see a title again.
the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted August 24, 2003 I was thinking Waltrip with Booker because even though Waltrip gets some top 10 finishes could you buy him as a race winner. Maybe a fluke victory or a DEI restrictor plate race, but noone really buys him as championship material. Like Booker T, good midcard title holder, possibly a transition champ but nothing more, plus time is starting to run out on both of them.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted August 24, 2003 Good Point. Labatone came in at the wrong time... Too young for the Old Timers (Jarrett, Elliot, Wallace, etc) but too old for the Young gunns (Busch, Newman, Jr etc) but lacks the personality that Gordon has... Jeff Burton will become the Pat Patterson of Nascar (not in that sense, sickos)...as he will become Nascar's Safety director and run Nascar...

Guest Choken One Report post Posted August 24, 2003 Just to add to the Busch/Harvick Rivlary... from Busch's mouth "I look like an idiot again," "I really didn't mean to do it," he said later. "I guess I have to go get a six-pack of Coors Light and go hang out with Sterling." This is by far the biggest win, this beats all of my wins," Busch said. "It is so sweet to come here with all of the things that dragged me down to get here." from Harvick "I hate losing to Rubberhead He's a cocky, arrogant, punk, He just has a really, really bad attitude. But he can wheel a race car." what Busch said after he spun marlin out "Nobody is going to cut me a break tonight, tell him `I'm sorry,' " Busch quickly radioed as he slid past the spinning Marlin. what Marlin had to say about Busch "Just a bonehead move," Marlin said. "I don't guess Spencer got him hard enough." what Harvick said when Busch passed him in the race for the lead "It was a clean pass, I think the only thing I saw was a little blood dripping out of his nose as he drove on by," here is what Other drivers said about Busch Jeff Gordon "I don't agree with flattening fenders," "I'm not going with him on that." Bill Elliott "I just call it dirty racing," Nascar shouldn't go corporate here...Let Busch be the asshole he is and sell that...
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted August 24, 2003 I've got some football ones: Bill Romanowski Al Davis Mike Martz Terrell Owens (sort of) Randy Moss Jumbo Elliot (that's a wrestling name right there) Bryan Cox Chris Hovan Warren Sapp (sometimes) Ray Buchanan (Cocky heel) John Randle (Kamala?/Insane heel with facepaint) And of course you have some faces also: Kurt Warner (80's style Backlund-squeaky clean babyface) Brett Favre (ORIGINAL Ragin Cajun, badass no-nonsense tough SOB with Attitude, Steve Austin) Vick (talented young fan favorite..Umm....Well since they both have one leg, how about Gowen? Oh wait nevermind... People hate Gowen. But then again, I hate Vick. )
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted August 24, 2003 Terrell Owens: A Ric Flair type of heel...you love to hate him Bryan Cox: He was always a loudmouthed prick, but I had no major problem with him until his terrible stint on NFL Live this preseason. The misinformed fucker wrote Keith Brooking who happens to be one of the top LBs in the league off as some bum. Warren Sapp: Rock type of heel. Acts like a heel but is liked by alot of people. The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted August 24, 2003 You want sports heels? The 2003 New Jersey Devils. If they had an H in their name I would write it three times whenever mentioning them. 1) The trap has ruined the league's play, akin to the WWE Main Event Style. 2) For further proof, the Eastern Conference Finals. The Ottawa Senators overcome bankruptcy and a small market to take the President's Trophy and ease past Long Island and Philadelphia in the playoffs. New Jersey gains the advantage in the third series. However, after much hard work and a rally-the-troops speech from a dying Roger Neilson, the Senators come back from a 3-1 deficit with an overtime victory in Game 6 to push the series to a Game 7. After a yearlong uphill battle, the dreams of the Ottawa Senators are crushed with a New Jersey goal 18 minutes into the third period. 3) For the first time in the ten years of their franchise's existence, the Anaheim Mighty Ducks gain incredible fan interest. With a roster of lesser names, and breakout goaltender Jean-Sebastien Giguere, the Mighty Ducks sweep the defending champions in the first round, defeat the top team in the Western conference in round 2, and sweep fellow shockers the Minnesota Wild, who themselves pulled off an unthinkable victory against Sakic, Forsberg, and Roy's Colorado Avalanche. The Western Conference's storybook season, akin to the Senators minus the financial instability and season-long dominance, is ended in an anti-climactic 3-0 New Jersey victory. Upon Giguere's awarding of the Conn Smythe trophy, the Meadowlands fans boo him out of the swamp. The Devils win their third Stanley Cup in the last nine years, and celebrate this great achievement with a party in the Meadowlands parking lot hosted by Joe Piscopo, in a fittingly mundane celebration. Find me a more unlikable team than the Devils in the NHL.

Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted August 25, 2003 I'm sure there have got to be more Raiders and Bears to put on here... Anyone notice there are certain "face" and "heel" teams also, like the NJ Devils described above? Let's go NFL... Heel: RAIDERS Rams (arrogant) Bucs Cowboys (though they're kind of tweeners) Redskins with Daniel Snyder Ravens (come on pissing on the field and claiming it as your territory isn't heelish?)
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted August 25, 2003 Why are the Bucs heels? Just because they don't give entertaining offensive games? Cowboys are currently seen as a joke. However, Jerry Jones is probably still seen as one. The 70's Raiders are probably the biggest heel teams in the history of the NFL. That's why i love the Raiders from the 70's. Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted August 25, 2003 The 70's Steelers=Stone Cold Steve Austin Barry Bonds seems to moving away from heel. In some ways he's more fan and media friendly than he was., Also people can't help but appreciate how great a player he is.

Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted August 25, 2003 Yeah like that worked to get Big Show over... And Bucs are heels, well...Their defense seems heelish. Cran Da Maniac 0 Report post Posted August 25, 2003 Going back to the Nascar wrestling comparisions, how about Ryan Newman as Chris Benoit. Neither is really flashy, both can hang with the top guys, and both can be seen as viable championship contenders. And I have to agree about Busch. Even my grandma said she wanted to punch him. Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted August 25, 2003 And Bucs are heels, well...Their defense seems heelish. Derrick Brooks is a huge babyface.

Not quite... Newman is young so he is more of a Paul London or Spanky if you will... For a Benoit comparison...Bobby Labonte is the appros one... Always *RIGHT* there...gets a fluke forgotten title run but dropped down the card for others...
Guest MD2020 Report post Posted August 25, 2003 Bobby Clarke Yes!!! And he was a "pussy champion" heel, taking cheap shots all around, but then relying on Schultz for his muscle to protect him. God, I wished I could have seen him play. Of course, he had a bit of a face turn when going against the Soviets. When asked if an upcoming game against the Soviets would be more violent than usual, due to some "creative stick play" in a previous game, Clarke replied "Oh, no. We hate those sons of bitches anyway."
