WrestlingDeacon 0 Report post Posted August 24, 2003 I got a DVD player for Christmas and haven't bought that many DVD's or played around with it much yet. I have noticed that some DVD's play great on my player while others do not. Some have really dark colors and the picture has a wave to it that goes in and out. Some are worst than others. I'm not sure what technical specs of my player and DVD's to give, but what are some general things that might cause that in the picture? Thanks for any help. Mole 0 Report post Posted August 24, 2003 What kind of DVD player is it?
Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted August 24, 2003 If it's a cheaper DVD player, that'll be your problem right there. Other than that, you may just need to clean it. Any CD cleaner should work the same way on your DVD player and can actually make some improvements. Maybe you should give that a try.
WrestlingDeacon 0 Report post Posted August 24, 2003 I'm guessing cheap DVD player is my problem. Being a gift from my mother I know she went cheap and doesn't know enough about DVD players to find a good one. It's an Apex that also has the ability to play mp3's, cd's and kodack picture disks. It does have dolby digital sound and picture, but I would take that to be standard.
Guest Crucifixio Jones Report post Posted August 25, 2003 Is your DVD player hooked up to your VCR? If so, that may be the cause (copy protection on some DVDS). Try hooking it directly to your television and see if that changes anything.
WrestlingDeacon 0 Report post Posted August 25, 2003 It is hooked to my vcr, as my t.v. is a little older and doesn't have the proper jacks to hook up directly. I should see about getting a newer t.v.
MrRant 0 Report post Posted August 25, 2003 Either that or get an RF modulator from Best Buy for $30. It should fix the issue and if it doesn't.... return it and get your cash back.
