the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted August 29, 2003 "Kids aren't going to get into a loser, there gonna get into a winner, and I did." Let's see here: I am 21 years old. I am a Phillies fan. 14 of the last 16 years the Phillies have been a losing team. So most of my life the Phillies were losing, yet I am a fan of the team. Kids can get into a losing team if they are a fan of the sport.
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted August 29, 2003 Heck, cheering for a losing team can be better, because it makes it all the sweeter when they actually win. I can't think that any of the Yankees World Series win have been more memorable than the Phillies '93 season.
the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted August 29, 2003 That 93 season was the greatest season of any sport I have been a fan of. I have watched the DVD they gave out at the reunion last month at least a half dozen times.

Guest Anglesault Report post Posted August 29, 2003 Some horrible failures of seasons are more memorable than successes. I don't really remember too much of the Yankees 1999 season, (which is kind of bizzare) but 95 is burned in my memory
Cartman 0 Report post Posted August 30, 2003 Pure Art right here. This picturse tells the story of last night's game, and I believe tells the future as well.
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted August 30, 2003 I'm confused. Is it because the Boston hat guy is jovial? Because there's a kid in a Yankees hat up front? Or the disinterested guy on the left? I don't get what the story is.
Cartman 0 Report post Posted August 30, 2003 "While the dejected Contreras walks back to his dugout after being pulled from a horrible pitching performance, a young and foolish Yankee fan looks on with dissappointment. While a Jovial Red Sox fan laughs with delight.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted August 30, 2003 Poor, misguided Sox fans thinking that they still have hope. Seriously thought, this should come down to the wire and be alot of fun. But for some reason, I see Dent Version 2.0 happening this year. I've kind of had that feeling all year.
Guest Ghettoman Report post Posted August 30, 2003 *remembers about the last time the Red Sox looked good against the Yankees, the talk about crumbling empires, and the twenty or so games that follwed where the Yankees took about a 6 game lead in the east* It's so obvious, the the empire is crumbling! Cower we must!!!......that or wait until the series plays out, either way. And for the record, I'll gladly be called a frontrunner or bandwagon fan as long as it keeps coming from the same people. Guest Anglesault Report post Posted August 30, 2003 I don't think the Sox will take the division, but right now, they're my wild card pick. However, at this juncture, I see niether the Sox nor the Yankees making it past the ALDS. The Yankees are having a bitch of a time against play off calibre teams, and I think both AL West teams can beat Boston. Of course, I also don't see a standout in the AL to go all the way, and the play offs are a strange animal, so who knows
