Too hosscentric to compare to the greatness of other shows this month, but still a rockin' show. I'd think whenever you watch Raw you really appreciate SD a lot more.

I wish Stephanie would have inserted herself into the triple threat match. Thought she would at least. I don't really mind Brock losing, if he ain't the champ, he doesn't have to win every match except for against Kurt.

Guest Ray Posted August 29, 2003 Report Posted August 29, 2003 I really enjoyed this show. I thought it pissed all over Raw is bore. Eddie is the fucking man. Seriously, has he ever been THAT over? Goddammit Vince, push him! The cruiser title match was fun, as was A-train/Benoit. Cena/Guerrero was also fun. I love Eddie's cheating, and the DVD on the tire was a nice touch at the end. Brock Lesnar is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better as a giant asshole, without a doubt. Quite possibly the best promo he's done. Asshole Brock > Goofball Brock I only had one problem with SD.....obviously, Taker going over Brock. Fun show that beat the hell out of Raw.
Austin3164life Posted August 29, 2003 Report Posted August 29, 2003 Cena vs. Eddy was a sweet match for tv. Nothing sloppy, and Cena has learned quickly how to be economical in the ring. Didn't do too much, but what he did made sense. Eddie of course is his usual great self. Both these guys have definite chemistry, and a feud all the way until Survivor Series would be sweet. The main event scene has also shaped up really well. Angle has become a very credible champion, and this could be his legacy title reign. The US and World title division alone are much better than the entire Raw brand.

I'm thinking it'll last maybe till the next SMDN PPV where Cena will win the US title (a good belt for him at this point). I'd move Eddie up to challenge Kurt at S. Series, and you know Eddie would be over as hell in Dallas. That place would go nuclear if he won the title.

Guest TheGame2705 Posted August 29, 2003 Report Posted August 29, 2003 This show wasn't better than TNA? This was the first Smackdown in a while that I thought was interesting enough to watch and thankfully it wasn't as bad as RAW. I usually like it but RAW this week couldn't have gotten any worse.

Cole tried briefly to do the Ross crap of denigrating his reaction (a la Jericho in Canada), stuff like "Gee, Eddie is grandstanding for his hometown fans." He quickly realized Eddie was getting such a huge pop that he stopped. None of the Canadians get this kind of response in Canada. Not since Bret anyway.
