Guest wrestlingbs Report post Posted August 30, 2003 The WWE is trying very hard right now to put the EC match as the hardest match to go through. But after last week's match and HBK's match at S-Series, I am failed to be impressed. Sure, it LOOKS worse, but the matches so far have been substandard compared to HiaC's better ones (vs. Cactus Jack, 6 man, HBK, and Mankind). And HHH has basicly foiled the whole purpose of it: he hid in his chamber throughout the entire match. Does anyone else think that the EC will go the way of the dinosaur and HiaC will still be the "big" gimmick match?

Guest Mulatto Heat Report post Posted August 30, 2003 Simply put, the difference between the Cell and the Chamber is that the wrestlers know how to work with the cell to create some memorable spots (e.g. falling off or being thrown off the top, getting backdropped through the ceiling), while the Chamber hinders matches because the wrestlers have to work around it (e.g. RVD's botched 5-star). And that is why the EC won't be 'the next' HIAC.
TheFranchise 0 Report post Posted August 30, 2003 The EC will always be a fun match. HiaC is HARDLY any fun.

Tawren 0 Report post Posted August 30, 2003 WWE is just saying "most dangerous match" to get the EC over. They also did that with the HIAC in June and Stretcher match in May.
Jack_Bauer 0 Report post Posted August 30, 2003 I think EC could be good with the right guys. Van Dam used some cool spots on the chamber. As for comparing it with the HIAC, you'll never compare an EC match with the HBK v Taker from 1997.
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted August 30, 2003 Umm....how exactly is a stretcher match dangerous? I mean you have to knock the guy out enough to strap him down....I mean in a regular match you have to knock him out enough to get a 3 count....what's the big difference? The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted August 30, 2003 You know what's better than BOTH COMBINED??? A CAGE MATCH. Since HIAC is solely used for HHH and Taker there are no big spots...and the EC is a joke. Cage matches own them both...and WWE should those instead.

Damaramu, (you see, someone can spell your name correctly) a stretcher match is more dangerous because it's assumed that more physical damage has to be dealt out in order to place them on a stretcher. Gaining a 1-2-3 pinfall only means that you have to temporarily put them on the mat. Dames

Dames I still don't buy it as so damn dangerous.....it always seemed like the goofiest gimmick match this side of a coal miner's glove match.
Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted August 30, 2003 I don't like the Chamber at all. With the hell you have a little more room with what you can do...plus there won't be 5 other guys in the way...plus the darn thing always seems to give out on a door or side...so there's more possibilities. Guest JumpinJackFlash Report post Posted August 31, 2003 WWE is just saying "most dangerous match" to get the EC over. They also did that with the HIAC in June and Stretcher match in May. Hey! That's my line! I like the chamber because it may make for exciting spots in Smackdown 5(e.g. Rey Mysterio doing a sommersault into a hurricanrana off the pod and onto Jericho, in the trailer. Damn that was awesome!).
Guest ManKinnd Report post Posted August 31, 2003 IMHO, both ECs have been ***+, so there's no real problem there. It's just that you tell a different story in the EC than in HIAC. EC has a brawl story, naturally, due to the fact that there's 6 guys in there. Easy stories are one guy avoiding another or everyone wanting to kill the same guy, etc. HIAC may have better stories, but overall I think the EC can grow and people will use it better. But no, it will never gain the mystique HIAC had. However, with that mystique all but totally gone, EC could take over popularity wise.
