Guest Bobby Cox is God Posted August 31, 2003 Report Posted August 31, 2003 He's probably one of my favorite wrestlers ever. But I know some guys who don't like him. What do you guys think?
Youth N Asia Posted August 31, 2003 Report Posted August 31, 2003 I like Corino. He's a ***** talker and an above average wrestler. A little much on the blading though.
Guest Bobby Cox is God Posted August 31, 2003 Report Posted August 31, 2003 Unrelated note: The Shield rules! If it wasn't for the Sopranos, that would be the best show on television.
Guest Indikator Posted August 31, 2003 Report Posted August 31, 2003 The "What?" gimmick would suit him right now He´s above average - but I´d like to see his Z-1 work
Nevermortal Posted August 31, 2003 Report Posted August 31, 2003 Corino was awesome in his match with Homicide, and along with Tajiri, was one of the bright spots towards the end of ECW.
Guest Dave O'Neill, Journalist Posted August 31, 2003 Report Posted August 31, 2003 His ring introduction at the ROH 8/16 Show was apparantley a sight to behold
Guest Jesse Posted August 31, 2003 Report Posted August 31, 2003 He's been doing a hell of a job as MLW champ, but I don't know what kind of effect his ear problem will have on his career. Also, isn't he facing possible jail time?

Corino faces a maximum of 117 years in prison according to an article in the Pottstown Mercury today."

Youth N Asia Posted August 31, 2003 Report Posted August 31, 2003 Corino vs Tajiri at Hardcore Heaven 2000 was just awesome. That match got him over pretty well.
LucharesuFan619 Posted September 1, 2003 Report Posted September 1, 2003 People make him out to be like Terry Funk, like Mick Foley, like Abby. Yes, there is NO DOUBT that he is very, very talented and very, very charismatic. However, he does not deserve to be portrayed in the same light as those guys, and I'll be damned if he isn't. He never made it to WCW. He never made it to the WWF/E. That alone should stop him from being mentioned in that same light. He's portrayed as a living legend. What did he do in ECW? He was there for two years, feuded with Dusty Rhodes, had a bunch of classic matches, but he was their champ during their dying days. Before ECW, he worked in various indy feds. It's through ECW that he gained his fame and in all honesty, he did nothing in ECW compared to the likes of Mikey Whipwreck, Spike Dudley, and Balls Mahoney, all of whom had influences on the promotion that are very, very underrated.
Brush with Greatness Posted September 1, 2003 Report Posted September 1, 2003 He never made it to WCW. He never made it to the WWF/E. That alone should stop him from being mentioned in that same light. And Abby was such a mainstay in those two feds? Not to mention Bruiser Brody, another guy Corino could be compared to. Where was his North American mainstream success? I really enjoy Corino. I thought his ECW stuff was really good and he was one of the best, if not the very best, reasons to watch ECW in it's dying days. His feud with Dusty was excellent. And on top of that Team Corino was great. Both Rhyno and Tajiri got their start as members of Team Corino and got the rub from Corino to start their pushes. Long live the King of the Old School.

Where was his North American mainstream success? Would Puerto Rico count? Because he and Abby were huge there. Not to mention Brody was a pretty big name for the NWA. He was just an even bigger one in Japan. Honestly, I must have missed all these comparisons between Corino and guys like Brody and Abdullah because I've never heard it brought up before. Corino's Z-1 stuff is pretty good. He plays the cheating comedy heel, and while the matches aren't great, they're always entertaining.
Guest The Real Nosferatu Posted September 1, 2003 Report Posted September 1, 2003 Corino = former NWA World Champion. Hes the King of Old School DAMN IT!

Abby worked in WCW. Corino didn't. Abby was in the Wargames cage match and some other memorable bouts. Wasn't there for long, but was a key guy while there. You have a point w/ Brody, but Brody was around for MUCH longer than Corino. How long has Corino been wrestling? How long did Brody wrestle before his death?
Guest The Real Nosferatu Posted September 1, 2003 Report Posted September 1, 2003 Abby was the the Elimination Chamber of Horrors. Not War Games. Two completely different cages, match concepts, and a sucky sucky match. Maybe Corino doesn't want to work in WWE. Because he spends a lot of time touring with Japan I can assume.
