Mik 0 Report post Posted August 31, 2003 And I shed a tear. Hopefully my Marlins can pull together, but this is bad news. Real bad.
the max 0 Report post Posted August 31, 2003 They should be OK. Encarnacion stepped up last night, driving in all 4 runs, and Derrek Lee has to get hot soon.
MrRant 0 Report post Posted August 31, 2003 Broke hands? As in both?
Mik 0 Report post Posted August 31, 2003 Typo...whoops. Just one hand.
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted September 1, 2003 It really wouldn't have made a difference. At least the Marlins have an excuse now when they lose.

Mik 0 Report post Posted September 1, 2003 Well, they are in the market for a replacement. However, whoever they get isn't going to be nearly as good as Lowell. As long as they are in Pro Player, I'm confident they'll be ok. They win there. Â As for the Phillies, I am just sitting back and waiting for them to choke. Like they do every year they have a contendor, as well as every other team from the pathetic, cheesesteak infested hole that is Philadelphia (especially the Eagles)
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted September 1, 2003 The Phillies have choked exactly once in their lives, in 1964. The rest of their history they haven't even had the chance to choke.
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted September 1, 2003 And as long as we're taking cheap shots, I'm just waiting for the Marlins to sell their entire team again.
the max 0 Report post Posted September 1, 2003 And as long as we're taking cheap shots, I'm just waiting for the Marlins to sell their entire team again. BURN. Â One of the teams will drop, and it'll end up with St. Louis or Florida/Philly
Mik 0 Report post Posted September 1, 2003 Hey, at least they had a CHAMPION to sell the players off of. Something the Phillies haven't been able to claim since 1980. Â (Not that I condone the fire sale, it was a terrible experience in my life as a sports fan)
Dogbert 0 Report post Posted September 1, 2003 As an Expos fan, I know where you're coming from, Mik...
Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted September 1, 2003 Marlins get Conine.  espn.com  Nice pickup.
treble 0 Report post Posted September 1, 2003 I hope he breaks his hand.
Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted September 1, 2003 So you're a fan of the Phillies.
treble 0 Report post Posted September 1, 2003 Well, anyone is better than the Marlins. I want the Expos to win it (and I kind of don't want the Phillies to make the playoffs again before the Jays do), but I think I've said here before that I'll be happy so long as Pro Player Stadium is only used for football once October rolls around.
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted September 1, 2003 Conine has played 1 game at third the last two years.
the max 0 Report post Posted September 1, 2003 They're probably going to move Miguel Cabrera to 3rd, and stick Conine in the outfield.
Mik 0 Report post Posted September 1, 2003 Max is correct. Conine will play LF and Cabrera is the new 3b. Go Fish!
