Trish starts to use Austin's moves

Recommended Posts

Guest TheGame2705

Has anyone noticed when she started to use the main event spinebuster and the thesz press she started blowing spots more frequently? I can't even defend that botch as it looked noticeable she screwed up. Even though they screwed up though, they're still trying to be legit wrestlers but Lawler was asking if there would be an Old Man Madonna and Brittney action with the divas. Ugh. If they switched the teams it'd be so much better as puppies are the only thing making a Sable match watchable.

trish doesn't do the spinebuster like austin did it.

and i don't like her frankensteiner spot. it's fine if only done as a special occasion when the opportunity arises (like the way angle's top rope belly-to-belly was for a while), but having it in almost every match is just stupid & contrived.

Yeah.

I'm so happy their trying is spotlighted on national television while other, better, wrestlers who try and are successful remain hidden away.

Gotta love amateur night getting to the big stage.

I would take a Women's match over a La Resistance match anyday.

Even if Hurricane's in it, like tonight.

And I would take a Ultimo Dragon match over a Womens match any day. But I'm kinda whacky like that with my good-wrestlin-lovin.

Yeah...but that's on Smackdown, so no chance of that.

Hence, I take what I can get on Raw.

And I find the women's wrestling 9 out of 10 to be the best wrestling on Raw.

I'm going with Rudo here....I mean why does Dragon get locked away on Velocity while these biatches get the spotlight? *is confused*

Even if he wasn't...he's on Smackdown...so it doesn't even effect Raw.

Though I do agree Dragon's been getting the shaft.

Vince thought Ultimo can pop the crowd like Rey does. Ultimo doesn't.

Relax Chris Waters. To some of these guys, if it isn't Manami Toyota or Aja Kong out there, the women should not even bother trying to wrestle. I love them too, but not at the exclusion of others. At least Japan clap for the Divas.

Wait, wait, wait... is this going to end up like another "Why isn't Trish pulling a Chris Benoit, they're both Canadian" thread?

Because I've seen so many of them, it's downright painful.

If you don't want to watch women wrestle, just change the channel for the *5* minutes they get ANY attention.

Dragon gets no TV time. The women do. It's all WWE, the same wrestlers are contracted, so the time given to one is taken away from another no matter what show it is on.

The women are horrid. You can see their spots coming from a mile away and their wrestling is not natural at all. It's amateurish and the only reason they are out there is because of their looks. Meanwhile, competant wrestlers get shortchanged. But hey, as long as "they're putting out the best matches on Raw" and are "better than La Resistance", who am I to argue with such lofty standards??

If we look at the Raw side of things, why do the women get wrestling time while people like Lance Storm, Val Venis, Tommy Dreamer & Steven Richards constantly get left on the sidelines? What about Al Snow or Goldust? Rico? There are a line of wrestlers that should have their spot/shot.

What they really need is an established IC division for the midcarders. Instead of just saying Jericho or Lawler will get a title shot this week because of the GM's whim, all the midcarders should be fighting to get a shot. If they rotated through Dreamer, Storm, Goldust, Henry, Mack, Snow, and the like with the winners fighting to eventually get a shot, it would make the Raw midcard more interesting.

You know what would be cool is if they had a tournament of the people who get on Raw occasionally, where the winner got an IC Title shot on PPV, and the winner got permanently banished to Heat. I really think they should have completely different rosters for Raw and Heat, where once a month, the best wrestler on Heat goes to Raw, and the worst wrestler on Raw goes to Heat. It would help both programs.

I never said I hated the women at all. They personally are one of the reasons I watch RAW. I just thought it was funny that she starts using Austin's moves and trying to wrestle WWE style and she starts blowing spots every match when before she was pretty good.

I agree,

however I think as soon as Shane has bumped for Kane at Unforgiven he should get off TV along with the rest of the McMahons

I think Trish has turned into the 2000-2001 unmotivated Chris Jericho of the Women's division recently.

Lay off Trish.

For someone that looks that good, anything she does in the ring is a bonus.  She can do more than 75% of the divas.

Yeah, if you're into transvestites...

The women's division gets about one segment per show. I think that there are many other things to complain about when it comes from taking time away from other wrestlers. For instance, if they just did away with all the lengthy entrances, you would have at least enough time for another five minute match. Or if they stopped devoting an entire segment to a GM setting up a match later in the show. As is, the ladies put on better matches than most of the men who currently are featured on Raw.

I'm just glad that Trish is getting the crap beat out of her for the past few weeks, hopefully setting up a return by Lita!

The Women usually get a PPV match as well. It all add's up after a while. Not to mention women get featured on both Raw and Smackdown while Cruiserweights (barely) get featured on Smackdown. Sure, there are other things to complain about - but that doesn't make this complaint any less valid.

Can someone tell me when the women are not blowing spots or using overly contrived moves or setting up their shots 5 seconds in advance, where these "best matches on Raw" are coming from???

I wouldn't say the women are FEATURED on SmackDown. They mostly play second-fiddle for the men, thus they are not taking away time from the Cruiserweight division. Speaking of that division, the big problem there is WWE's obsession with using smaller guys in the heavyweight division and not pushing the rest of them past Velocity.

In comparison to the crap we are usually dished out every week, more often than not the women's match is on the higher end quality-wise. Sure the recent addition of Gail Kim has hurt them, but they seem to be getting their act together again.

Oh Please, Torrie Wilson is promoted more-often-than-not as the #3 babyface on Smackdown and Steph is #2. Torrie/Sable/Steph took A TON of time away from potential matches. Then there was Dawn Marie/Torrie with went on for 4 months, at it's peak had something around 6 segments per show, and blew off in a throw-away match at the Rumble and then the main event on Velocity. Countless time spent on these angles - total amount of money made from them??? 0??? Again, it all adds up. You're not looking at the big picture.

The womens matches suck. Ok. The pacing is all over the place, the moves are contrived, they set up their shots like they're building a house of cards and they're nearing the top -gotta be careful, don't want to make it look natural!- the crowd, aside from the "we want puppies" chant and the hootin and hollerin, is usually dead during these matches and don't really care about who wins or not, the selling generally consists of biting down and showing your teeth while looking constipated. The Amount of Good Womens matches - none of this "oh they try real hard" bullshit where standards are so fucking low that successfully entering the ring gets an automatic ** and then botching no spots gets a bonus *** - the amount of truly good womens matches, I can count on one hand. And you know what? THE BEST of those womens matches is NOWHERE NEAR as good as the best cruiserweight match, or even the worst cruiserweight match.

I'm tired of this "best match on Raw", they're not the best match on Raw. If the mens' matches are that bad then they all suck so badly that it's ruled a no contest and no match is the "best match".

The "big picture" is that Torrie and Dawn Marie have done next to nothing since the Rumble. Yeah Torrie had a month long feud with Sable. Big fucking deal. Dawn Marie has all but disappeared. Sable and Stephanie just follow Vince around. Torrie and Nidia stand in Gunn and Noble's corner. It has been that way for quite a while.

But what does that even matter? The Women's Title doesn't take anything away from the Cruiserweight Division or interfere with it. Sure the matches aren't all good, but take into consideration that people we are talking about. On top of that, I would not say that the best Jazz-Trish match from last year does not come anywhere close to a NUMBER of the cruiserweight matches we have been getting.

How do you figure? If a women's match is better, even slightly better than the rest, it is therefore the best match of that show.
