McNeese State (1-0) at Kansas State (1-0)

Why to watch: Kansas State is obviously going to win, but McNeese State isn't a bad DI-AA team. However, this will be a great chance for Ell Roberson to tune up his passing skills a little more.

Why McNeese State might win: The Wildcats could be looking ahead to UMass.

Why Kansas State might win: The only question will be how much KSU is up after the first quarter.

Who to watch: With Darren Sproles hurting, Kansas State needs to get the rest of its backs more work. Jermaine Moreira, Danny Morris and Ayo Saba will get a chance to see some action even though Sproles has said he'll play. Ell Roberson is obviously the star quarterback in this game, but MSU senior Scott Pendarvis isn't bad. He's coming off a 14 of 17 passing performance against Henderson State.

What will happen: Need you ask?

CFN Prediction: Kansas State 58 ... McNeese State 0

Damn. Whatever happened to Houston? They were actually a good team during the Andre Ware/David Klingler days. Now, they are just cannon fodder.

Probably suffering from a lack of the "Run and Shoot" offense.

and some other stuff too

Michigan now has 61-7, 42-21 and 50-3 wins over Houston.

Houston did kick the crap out of Rice (48-14), but this is Rice we're talking about here!

and how did Washington State end up unranked?

They're leading Notre Dame, 19-6

Well, they aren't doing THAT impressive. The way the Notre Dame offense seems to be playing, this game is a lot closer than it has any right to be.

Well Gesser graduated and they typically can never put back-to-back great seasons in a row.

Speaking of Washington schools, UW looks like they might suck this year. Blown out by OSU who barely beats San Diego St. this week and they are struggling in the first half to beat an Indiana team that was blown out last week by UConn. 10-10 at the half.

I'm going to be keeping an eye on Tulsa/Arkansas. The CFN previews are interesting

"108. Tulsa - If nothing else, Tulsa will play some fun games this season. With an offense that should be more exciting with a new coaching staff led by an offensive coach like Steve Kragthorpe, and a defense that still might not be able to stop anyone, the potential is there for some wild games."

"28. Arkansas - The defense has some issues, but it should be fine. The question is in the passing game where the Hogs have to figure out its quarterback situation and has to start giving defenses a scare through the air. Every year head coach Houston Nutt says he's going to boost the passing attack, and every year the Hogs fall back on a fantastic running game."

Arkansas v. Texas shall be good!

The Virginia game was abhorrent. Why Al Groh insisted on keeping Anthony Martinez in for the second half after he threw for a whopping *25 yards* in the first half stuns me. For years Groh's been the guy with balls who did whatever he needs to win. And he's got Marques Hagans, who was starting QB at the beginning of last year, playing as a third wide-out. Hagans isn't good, but he's better than frickin' Martinez.

Our run game was fine today, but without a quarterback it's over. Gross. I just hope Schaub heals up before Wake so the season's not a wash.

Notred Dame has cut the lead to three already. This is the typical ND game last year...play like shit for three quarters and then pull a win out of their ass in the 4th.

There's really no reason why Rutgers shouldn't be a good program. They're the only school in New Jersey. There's alot of talented kids in New Jersey and the NYC area.

There's nothing wrong with pulling a win out of your ass, as long as they can do it consistently, a win's a win.

And if only Tennessee hadn't given Marshall some 50 yards in penalties on Marshall's last drive, it would still be 21-10. Ehh, Tennessee's size and speed advantage will have Marshall begging for mercy by the 5:00 mark in the 4th Quarter. They were already being worn down right before the half.

Damnit tough week for the Pac-10 so far. Oregon St. loses on a late field goal to Fresno St., Washington St. blows a big lead and loses in overtime to Notre Dame, and now UCLA loses on a late touchdown to Colorado. Washington did wake up in the 2nd half and realize they were playing Indiana and are now up 38-13.

Temple is getting the boot from the Big East next year in football for UConn and they might as well move to I-AA. They could join the Sun Belt conference for a shot at a conference championship but not sure if they could beat out North Texas.

Yes, Tennessee's RBs do indeed rule...

... but let's hear it for the dude from Maryland who punked Rix the FUCK out on that interception return! I nominate him for the Heisman just because I hate Florida State THAT MUCH.

As for Tennessee's game though, it shouldn't have been so close. Look at their penalty totals, and you see that they gave Marshall a touchdown, yard-wise. However, that they won by 10 despite all of that says a lot. Marshall came to play today, no doubt. Now we have a week off to sit in our rooms and think about what we've done before the FLORIDA~ game. We can't commit half of the penalties we did today if we want to win. Let's hope Miami neuters Florida to the point where they're so mentally wrecked that they can't focus against Tennessee.
