Guest Trivia247 Posted September 3, 2003 Report Posted September 3, 2003 The reason why WWE failed to explain how Kane survived the "burning" on last week's RAW was that the company feels they are the storytellers and don't have to give the fans any in-depth explanation. (Thanks to 1wrestling.com) So... There! If we want Marty Jenetty to dress like the Undertaker and suspend himself above the titontron like he was the Dead spirit they will do that too.. Wait...they already did that.

They could say that for any unanswered / discontinued angles! *who lifted the briefcase at KOTR 99 and GTV / F-View immediately come to mind If we want Marty Jenetty to dress like the Undertaker and suspend himself above the titontron like he was the Dead spirit they will do that too.. Wait...they already did that. Marty played Taker's ghost at the RR?!!

Guest wrestlingbs Posted September 4, 2003 Report Posted September 4, 2003 That's a good idea. It used to be when you couldn't write a decent and logical story you were incompetent. Now it's just being "creative". Sorry Vince, you just suck.
AndrewTS Posted September 4, 2003 Report Posted September 4, 2003 Okay...I've read that 3 times and it still makes no sense. *reads own sig again* Oh right. Carry on.
Lightning Flik Posted September 4, 2003 Report Posted September 4, 2003 Seriously, THAT'S their explanation? Have they gone mad? Oh my...
Repo Man jr Posted September 4, 2003 Report Posted September 4, 2003 Could of been worse. Fan: Uh, On last weeks show Kane died, but the very next week he was alive again? WWE: Uh, whenever you see something like that, a wizard did it.

Guest Mulatto Heat Posted September 4, 2003 Report Posted September 4, 2003 This was at Rajah's Take the following for what you will. When writers were asked about exactly what happened to Kane after Shane threw him into the pit of fire, the word from the top (mainly McMahon’s office) was that fans have to give them a “poetic license” sometimes since this is entertainment. I never, ever fail to be amused at WWE's ambiguous definition of 'entertainment', especially how it only seems to apply to angles or wrestlers that they are completely behind, anything else be damned.
Guest Super Pissed Smark Posted September 4, 2003 Report Posted September 4, 2003 Yup. Vince is just totally fucking gone.

A poetic license to do what? Writer storylines and angles like a complete idiot with a neurotic disorder?
Tawren Posted September 4, 2003 Report Posted September 4, 2003 *who lifted the briefcase at KOTR 99 and GTV / F-View immediately come to mind I'm pretty sure they just said the briefcase was Steve Blackman or one of the Corporation. F-View was Eric Bischoff.
Guest EternallyLazy Posted September 4, 2003 Report Posted September 4, 2003 remember when Austin turned heel at Mania and the next night when they hyped his explanation, he basically said that the fans didnt deserve an explanation, and that was that Over time it was established that he was so desperate to get the title back that he "sold his soul to the devil" but after a huge turn like that, people were expecting more and they took the lazy way out

Guest wrestlingbs Posted September 4, 2003 Report Posted September 4, 2003 Austin's heel turn was a bad omen of things to come. Austin did the character beautifully, but it looks pretty bad when you can't explain the biggest heel turn of the year. Even if you think Kane has mystical powers (he's a witch!) it still doesn't explain half of what Shane or him do. For instance, where did Kane's security escort go? Magic?
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Posted September 4, 2003 Report Posted September 4, 2003 It's like when you get caught in a lie, so you make another one to get out of it. And they get bigger and bigger and more bizzare, and after a while complete strangers can take one look at you and go "bullshit". What was supposed to just be a heel turn has now become some kind of slasher flick parody. Soon Kane will be hypnotizing people to do his bidding.
Mecha Mummy Posted September 4, 2003 Report Posted September 4, 2003 Actually, a columnist on 411 had a lot of evidence that Bossman was behind the briefcase. No Corporation member was allowed to interfere in Vince/Shane vs. Austin. Bossman was kicked out on Heat. Then he was re-inducted on Raw without any mention of what happened. Thank god for Russo's thorough booking, ne? Oh, and as for the WWE's explanation... Jesus Christ, this company gets worse every week.
Guest Deviant Posted September 4, 2003 Report Posted September 4, 2003 There wasn't a mystery to F-View. Bischoff said he had the cameras installed when they first started... Anyone who gets paid to write things has an obligation to explain and explore the events they write. Talk about taking the cheap way out. If you're getting paid to write a TV show, shouldn't your ideas have some sort of thought process put into them. I mean besides "Fire pretty. Me want fire." Anyway, where do we sign up for this job? Write utter crap with no need for thought and say "Yes, Mr McMahon" and "Yes, Champ" when they finish a sentence, I want that job.
AndrewTS Posted September 6, 2003 Report Posted September 6, 2003 "Anyway, where do we sign up for this job? Write utter crap with no need for thought and say 'Yes, Mr McMahon' and 'Yes, Champ' when they finish a sentence, I want that job. " You can't sign up. You can't be a fan and you have to have some experience writing for shitty soap operas.

Guest Sakura Posted September 6, 2003 Report Posted September 6, 2003 Nobody raised the briefcase. At least not anyone important. It was never made an issue. I don't understand why people always bring it up as something unresolved. It was never supposed to be. It was just some random person who controls the wire. It's not like Ross was like "bah gawd who did this!?" for weeks.

The Czech Republic Posted September 7, 2003 Report Posted September 7, 2003 Oh, fun! Professionals admitting to being lazy, stupid incompetents, and then staying on pay. My favorite remark about them being idiots was I believe Jester's: "I wish I could work for a company where I could say 'I think we should hook up jumper cables to his crotch!' and not only would I not get fired, but they would actually use my suggestion." *If I misattributed, please tell me who deserves the massive props.

Yeah, go fuck yourself, Vince. I'll stop watching your product and go watch something where the writers actually tell a story properly.
