Either it's for the title, Kurt wins, and nothing changes, or it's for no title and Kurt gets demoted and the whole thing is viewed as ultra-midcard. Besides, Kurt can't feud with the US champ. Someone needs to fight for that belt.

AS, who would you rather face Angle then? Angle won't lose the belt to Cena, thus won't look 'weak'. Cena would be elevated by wrestling in a high profile match, no matter if he wins or loses. It's win-win.

And the only reason the Brock match did nothing for Cena was because WWE did nothing for him after. If it had a follow up, there is no way for Cena to lose. And if Angle wins, it's good for him too.
