Leni Riefenstahl finally dead

Not sure whether this should go in Current Events or movies, but I saw on CBS news this morning that Riefenstahl, filmmaker famous for Nazi propaganda such as "Triumph of the Will" and "Victory of the Faith" died last night at the age of 101. Riefenstahl remained completely unrepentant about making these films throughout her life and was heavily rumored to be one of Hitler's mistresses.

As a future film/television professional and more importantly, a devout Jew, the pure hatred I felt for this woman expressed in words would probably get me banned from here, so I'll just leave you all to discuss this amongst yourselves.

i never thought she was particularly talented, & seriously doubt her stuff would be recognized so much if she hadn't done some of it for hitler. 'the blue light' (or 'da bloo lyte', as my german-born professor called it) and what i've seen of 'triumph of the will' bore the shit out of me.

With 2004 seeing the end of such individuals as Idi Amin, Uday & Qusay Hussein, and now Leni, this IS a very good year for death.

If that son of a bitch death is trying to make up for Gregory Hines and Barry White, he's got a ways to go.

Actually, she's more recognised for writing the book on documentary film-making. A lot of her camera work was revolutionary at the time.

I'm not saying that justifies what she did or shows what kind of person she is. I'm just saying that's why she's so imfamous.
