Mole 0 Report post Posted December 18, 2003 I just watched "Lullaby" and I noticed something about Holtz. He looks SO much like Page McConnell from Phish.
Max Danger 0 Report post Posted December 18, 2003 I am sure he is catching up on sleep since he doesn't have to do Buffy or Firefly anymore. Well, I'm sure he would be if it weren't for that baby he has. Which is probably more work than having to oversee two other shows.
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted December 18, 2003 The Las Vegas episode was okay at best "Okay at best"? It was "Okay at worst" - the main henchman should have been the fucking big bad for (a) year; he was bringing the dickery in spades. The GvE guy was also nice and sleazy and sorta reminded me of Harland Mathers. Gunn was fun and him and Fred at the blackjack table was fun-ny. Fred in a showgirl outfit was actually a lil bit spanktacular, and apathetic Angel ruled - but not as much as "well, it's not like I was invited to the wedding reception... funny story" vegas-hot-shot Angel. It also put a focus on Angel's destiny which would come into play later on in the season. Fred's explanation of Lorne vanishing is classic.
LaParkaMarka 0 Report post Posted December 18, 2003 Yeah, gotta agree with Rudo here. I loved that Vegas ep. Nice and fun, especially in light of the sad/depressing stuff Angel was doing before that. Good change of pace. Plus that Asian chick was quite hothot.
Mole 0 Report post Posted December 18, 2003 Well, I'm sure he would be if it weren't for that baby he has. Which is probably more work than having to oversee two other shows. Joss has a baby? Compared to the rest of season 4, the episode was okay at best. I have only seen the episode once, so I'll give it another shot in a few minutes.
Cavi 0 Report post Posted December 18, 2003 Joss has a baby? Yeah, had it just about a year ago. In regards to that article you posted from Buffy.nu, the "SMG quit and that's why it ended!" hype always bugs me. It was like this huge shock to some that the show was ending, yet I thought it was to be expected. Back when the two season deal with UPN was signed, both Joss and Marti said they weren't too positive it would continue after that. If this is indeed the last season of Angel, then I'm alright with that (just as long as they finish everything out, of course).
Max Danger 0 Report post Posted December 18, 2003 This is from Buffy.nu: Did Whedon End Buffy? Will He Cancel Angel? All fans believes that Buffy ended because of Smg`s decision. But now, new information has come out...and Whedon perhaps may also end Angel. Whedon seems to achieved that to some degree and is relieved that, thanks to renewal, no one will show up to the set of Angel and say "stop filming that now," but one day that phrase may well be spoken, and possibly by Whedon himself. "It could happen," said Whedon. "I did that on Buffy. I was definitely done after seven years. A lot of people attribute that to [sarah Michelle Gellar], but after seven years I was burnt out. I was just really worn down as we came into the seventh season. Of course we tried hard to make it great, but seven years is a long time and I was tired. Now were in the fifth year of Angel and I’m in a situation where we’ve gotten to the hundredth episode and I feel like the show has...found it’s place in the world." Anakin Flair 0 Report post Posted December 18, 2003 Buffy had to end after season 7. There was no where sesle to go. I think Angel can last till a seventh season. At least I hope it does.
Mole 0 Report post Posted December 18, 2003 I'd be happy with 6.
Hank Kingsley 0 Report post Posted December 20, 2003 So, "Happy Birthday" was on today, and Cordy is now part-demon. That's just so weird, especially looking back and seeing how far she's come since Season one of Buffy (heck, even season one of Angel).
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted December 20, 2003 Yeah, Cordy probably had the biggest jump in terms of Character - well, cept maybe for Wes - in the whole 'verse... not for the better, mind you. Fuck "Champion" Cordy.
Mole 0 Report post Posted December 20, 2003 Cordy is a champion. Sort of...
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted December 20, 2003 "Cordy" is not a champion.
Mole 0 Report post Posted December 20, 2003 Sort of.. I'm too drunk and tired to explain it right now, so I will tomorrow.
Guest Vitamin EC Report post Posted December 20, 2003 I hate "champion" Cordy too. I watched 'Hero' yesterday, I hate that episode... I always seem to have something in my eye.
LaParkaMarka 0 Report post Posted December 20, 2003 Cordy in Buffy > Cordy in Angel. In all ways. Especially sexiness. Which is what matters.
Hank Kingsley 0 Report post Posted December 20, 2003 Cordy in Buffy > Cordy in Angel. In all ways. Especially sexiness. Which is what matters. Actually, I think she looks a lot better with short hair.
Mole 0 Report post Posted December 20, 2003 I did like Buffy Cordy, but she couldn't stay that way her whole life. Cordy needed to have some sort of character development, so they had her become Hero Cordy. It made sense she became that way, because of her hanging out with Angel all the time, a true champion and getting the visions which would change ANYONE. I didn't like heel Cordy though, that didn't do it for me. Even though season 4 owns.
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted December 21, 2003 FUCK champion Cordy - sometimes some characters don't need that sort of development. FUCK Character Development. In other news, I watched a bit of that Buffy Season 6 eps. where she goes in and out of a mental instititution.... that episode sucks. I couldn't watch it all. I didn't like it when Ds9 did it, and it was actually done worse here.
Ravenbomb 0 Report post Posted December 21, 2003 Anybody wonder if Buffy'll show up for the last episode of Angel?
Mole 0 Report post Posted December 21, 2003 Bah, you're crazy RRR. "Normal Again" is a great episode. And Buffy won't be in any Angel episodes this year.
Ravenbomb 0 Report post Posted December 21, 2003 ok, but lets say it goes one more year. I meant in general
Mole 0 Report post Posted December 21, 2003 Ohoh... If it goes one more year, I am sure she'll show up. She shouldn't, however, been in the last episode. Angel is its own show and does fine without Buffy. Angel's last episode should be about Angel's characters, not Buffy.
Ravenbomb 0 Report post Posted December 21, 2003 To be fair, Angel showed up the last episode of Buffy
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted December 21, 2003 "Normal Again" fucking sucked. Was there any bigger way of saying "Hey, you're watching a TV show" than that??? I don't need to be reminded of it; it totally kills suspension of disbelief.. PLUS THEY COPIED STAR TREK!
Cavi 0 Report post Posted December 21, 2003 The thing that really bugged me about that ep was Buffy telling Will she actually was in an institute. What was that crap? Hello, Season Two! Granted, the episode was written by someone who had never written for them before (and never again, mind you), but you would think someone on the staff would have pointed out how ridiculous that was. RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted December 21, 2003 Hello, Season Two! In the dark on that one... wuh??
Mole 0 Report post Posted December 21, 2003 Yeah I second that. Huh?
Cavi 0 Report post Posted December 21, 2003 When Buffy tells Joyce about the whole vampire bit in Season Two, she is in shock. If Buffy had actually been in an institute for bringing the subject up years earlier, don't you think Joyce would have said something?
Ravenbomb 0 Report post Posted December 21, 2003 yeah, whoever wrote that, they are no Drew Goddard when it comes to continuity
