The One and Only Angel Season 5 Thread

Recommended Posts

I've been loving Angel Season 3 so far, but sadly I've missed a few episodes lately on the TNT reruns.

As I did, but it's pretty good so far.

Something I've been wondering. How is it that Baby Connor didn't equate to true happiness to Angel?? He seemed so happy around baby Connor...happier than they ever showed him on the show.

You'd think that the first time he held Connor it would have been...wow....bam.....Angelus. I guess we're supposed to assume that true happiness can only come through sex??

I'm sorry if this has been asked already.. but scouring through 43 pages doesn't look tempting right now.. when does the next new episode of season five air?

January 17th I believe....or the 7th....I know it had a 7 in it.

It's too long a wait.....but not as bad as waiting until March for The Shield Season 3.

You wouldn't happen to know the date for the next new Smallville, as well, would you? :P

No, but I can look it up.

EDIT: January 14th is the next new Smallville.......which means the next new Angel is the 14th as well....so much for my 7 thing.

This is my take...

He had sex with Darla, kept his soul.

He was having sex with Eve, kept his soul.

I think he has to be in love with the person, and then have sex. That is true happiness.

In season 4, when Angel lost his soul, the dream sequence was that he had sex with Cordy then lost his soul. He loved Cordy, banged her, lost his soul.

Just my guess.

Well, you'd figure the "true moment of happiness" would have taken place *right* at the moment of birth - which is the 'peak'. But, when Connor was born, you had Holtz chasing them and Darla staking herself; not a lot of time for the joy joy.

I think the difference is that while Angel loved Connor and did have true happiness, he never had a single highpoint that would have been considered perfect happiness. If Connor had been conceived naturally, maybe he would have had that perfect moment, seeing him being born into the world... as it was, he was fearing for his life the second he was born, so no perfect moment there. Also, there was always something in the way with Connor, be it people wanting to kill him, Connor himself wanting to kill Angel or any of the other shit that went down, when he hit climax point with Buffy he was in a perfect place in his life, no worries, no nothing, just great sex with the person he loved.

Edit: Ah, RRR got in before me.

So, in today's ep Holtz jumped into the hell dimension with Connor...that's how Connor comes back about 20 years older, right?

Great ep today, by the way. Wes getting slashed across the throat was a big "holy shit!" moment.

:D  I got an 8X10 buffy cast pic signed by Tony Head, Alyson Hannigan, Seth Green, Nick Brendon and SMG and Buffy season 5  :D

is it real, or is it Autosig?

it's got a CoA, that means it's real, right? I got a Taxi Driver and Kevin Smith 8X10, too

I felt really bad for Angel.

He was SO HAPPY with Connor. Whenever I see Angel smile that much, its good, because he never is happy.

Holtz is a very interesting character though. I wish there was more of him.

I'm eager to find out where he's been for the past couple of years. And why suddenly he wants to take out Angel again.

Maybe he heard what happened to Darla.

I want to see what he plans to do Wolfram and Hart and more specifically the senior partners.

I know this is supposed to be the Angel thread, but what the heck.

Just got Buffy season 4, I haven't seen a lot of the eps, especially the beginning stuff. So I saw "The Freshman" for the first time. I can't believe how emotionally involved I get with this show. I really wanted to kill that evil 80's vamp after she snapped Buffy's little prom umbrella thingee.

Must say, I also enjoyed Living Conditions quite a bit.

Making this post vaguely Angel related, I also saw "City Of" for the first time. That was pretty weak. Doyle is cool, and the ep has a decent story, but I just wasn't feelin it. Nice little intro to Wolfram and Hart though. And Cordelia was insanely fuckalicious.

Well, since there isn't another Buffy thread, I figure any Buffy talk is fair game here. Anyway, I downloaded and watched "Seeing Red" for the first time today...wow. I don't know how they pulled it off, but they made Warren go from laughable nerd to downright scary. First when he was kicking Buffy's ass, and then the big incident at the end.

Spoiler (Highlight to Read):

I think it was pretty evil of them to put Amber Benson in the credits for that episode just to have her die...but I guess they wanted her in one set of credits since she had gone two seasons as a guest star (despite the fact that she was an established scooby)

Andrew: "Man, I want to get my hands on his orbs." and Andrew later crashing his jetpack was downright gold~

About the opening...

Spoiler (Highlight to Read):

If I remember back to the 'City of' commentary, I think Joss always wanted to put someone in the opening credits then surprise everyone by killing them off. The original guy he wanted to do it with was Xander's friend in 'Welcome to the Hellmouth' but they couldn't add him into the credits due to budgeting reasons. He kinda did it with Doyle as well but I'm thinking Tara is the way he wanted to do it, show that no character is safe, even if they're given starring credits for just one ep.
