I watched HITW and Shells back to back yesterday - which is not a good idea, because half-way through Shells I was done. At this point in time, I'd rank Season 5 Angel like so...

That episode is absolutely classic if just for being "mark out because I love wrestling and Angel". Also was very funny (most of 5's dialogue).

I thought it was a pretty poor representation of wrestling with really basic moves done and the premise was just... blah... It was interesting in concept and pretty boring in execution - IMO. Granted, I've only seen the episode once and that was in its original airing, so things can change. It's just, when I think of the episodes I really liked and go down the list, it ends up at the bottom.

I just watched Deep Down. Lilah called one of the Senior Parters by name. Like Mr Survavo or something. So where did this whole eternal powers in another plane thing come from? "The Wolf, The Ram and the hart" deal? In seasons 1-3 they never said exactly what they were but at the end of season 5 Angel talks about them like he knows they are just invincible and all that. Is that explained in season 4 and early season 5 or what?

Angel killed it's physical manifestation. The Senior Partner is still very much alive AFAIK.

It's Reprise. I'm not sure if that was real though. The whole thing seems to have been a set up so that Holland could give his speech to Angel. If it is real then it contradicts season 5 because he killed it and it could manifest itself on Earth.

 

I thought the plyea thing was just to show that W&H exists in many forms in many dimenions. On Earth it is Wolfram & Hart, the lawfirm, there it was the religion.

 

 

Illyria speaks of the whole "Wolf, Ram and Hart" thing as if they were 3 demons or species of demons that used to be weak but just got powerful. Yet Angel puts them over as eternal.

Angel asks if it can be killed. Lorne says the downside of manifestation here is that it can be.

In Reprise, Holland put over evil as always being there, and that's what Wolfram and hart thrives upon. That's what Angel alludes to, that they can't be defeated. By establishing the firm, they've built up their power on Earth as well as using the other influences in seperate dimensions.

Defiently agree. I find it funny that the guy from the Buffy.nu article gave it a 9, but a "A Hole in the World" a 7.5.

 

I bought season 5 on VCD from eBay for only $35.00. I figure the whole season for 35 isn't bad, plus I want to see the season in whole so I can fairly rate it with the other seasons. As of right now here is, GoD not again, the season list.

Currently it's best of Angel season in the UK with viewers voting for their favourite episodes, currently 'Awakening' is on and I'm wondering, did this episode contain the only full fledged fight between Angel and Connor? The only other instances I can remember are times when they didn't really get going or Angel simply didn't fight back.

Gwen was an opportunist. She was out for herself. Wes was still fighting the good fight, even if he was seperated.

 

Where does everyone assume she would have fit in that whole thing anyway? Yeah, she was hot, and she could have lent a hand, but what stake would she have had.
