RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted June 14, 2004 You do NOT no-sell Firefly in here Mole. I have pictures of you! Pictures with Bunnies. I WILL show them to Anyanka if I have to. Don't force my hand. I watched HITW and Shells back to back yesterday - which is not a good idea, because half-way through Shells I was done. At this point in time, I'd rank Season 5 Angel like so... El Supreme-o Episode-o (1) 5-22 Not Fade Away ***** The Gold-Star Playaz (2) 5-15 A Hole in the World ****3/4 (3) 5-8 Destiny ****1/2 (4) 5-20 The Girl In Question ****1/2 (5) 5-5 Life of the Party ****1/2 (6) 5-12 You're Welcome ****1/2 These... These were the quality. (7) 5-19 Time Bomb ****1/4 (8) 5-16 Shells **** 1/4 (9) 5-17 Underneath **** 1/4 (10) 5-18 Origin **** 1/4 (11) 5-14 Smile Time ****1/4 These are not bad... they're just... not _as_ good. (12) 5-10 Soul Purpose **** (13) 5-1 Conviction **** (14) 5-21 Power Play **** (15) 5-4 Hell Bound ***3/4 (16) 5-13 Why We Fight ***1/2 Not Horrible. They just had some bad in em. (17) 5-7 Lineage *** (18) 5-11 Damage *** (19) 5-9 Harm's Way *** (20) 5-3 Unleashed *** (21) 5-2 Just Rewards *** Should have been gone from the Season... (22) 5-6 The Cautionary Tale of Numero Cinco **1/2 Looking back, there's a TON of good shit here. ***** = Best Episode Ever (Angel) **** 3/4 = Best Episode Ever Candidate ****1/2 = Episode of the Year Candidate ****1/4 = Between Excellent and *&^%*&^(*^~~!!!! **** = Excellent ***3/4 = Very Good ***1/2 = Really Good *** = Good ** = Not bad * = Bad
Tawren 0 Report post Posted June 14, 2004 Should have been gone from the Season... (22) 5-6 The Cautionary Tale of Numero Cinco **1/2 BAHHH! Fuck you! Fuck you Rudo! Die!
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted June 14, 2004 Your hate gives me joy. Enough joy that I shall live a long life, fueled on your hate. Yes, fuck me indeed.
Tawren 0 Report post Posted June 14, 2004 No no no, this isn't "yougotmeonFirefly" hate (I need to post there again, come to think of it), this is pure hatred! That episode is absolutely classic if just for being "mark out because I love wrestling and Angel". Also was very funny (most of 5's dialogue).
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted June 14, 2004 I thought it was a pretty poor representation of wrestling with really basic moves done and the premise was just... blah... It was interesting in concept and pretty boring in execution - IMO. Granted, I've only seen the episode once and that was in its original airing, so things can change. It's just, when I think of the episodes I really liked and go down the list, it ends up at the bottom.
Hank Kingsley 0 Report post Posted June 15, 2004 How the FUCK are Lineage and Damage so low? See, this is why I hate lists. I never agree with anyone.
Anya 0 Report post Posted June 15, 2004 I just got ahold of season 4 of Angel. I'm so hyped.
Hank Kingsley 0 Report post Posted June 15, 2004 ...how'd you do that? I mean, I spent a week downloading the entire thing on the computer, but do you actually have the DVD's?
Anya 0 Report post Posted June 15, 2004 Just borrowed tapes from someone.
Tawren 0 Report post Posted June 15, 2004 Rudo, I certainly agree it wasn't at the top of the season. But it wasn't that bad that it "should have been gone from the season".
LaParkaMarka 0 Report post Posted June 15, 2004 The Gold-Star Playaz (4) 5-20 The Girl In Question ****1/2 Are you drunk? Smile Time should be up in Gold-Star Playaz, if a comedy ep is needed there. Smile Time >>>>>>>>>> The Girl In Question.
Anya 0 Report post Posted June 15, 2004 I just watched Deep Down. Lilah called one of the Senior Parters by name. Like Mr Survavo or something. So where did this whole eternal powers in another plane thing come from? "The Wolf, The Ram and the hart" deal? In seasons 1-3 they never said exactly what they were but at the end of season 5 Angel talks about them like he knows they are just invincible and all that. Is that explained in season 4 and early season 5 or what?

In season two, in either the episode 'Epiphany' or the one before it, a Senior Partner actually came to the office- and angel killed it, I believe. and the whole "the Wolf, The Ram, and the Heart" deal was alluded to during the Pylea arc. Anya 0 Report post Posted June 15, 2004 It's Reprise. I'm not sure if that was real though. The whole thing seems to have been a set up so that Holland could give his speech to Angel. If it is real then it contradicts season 5 because he killed it and it could manifest itself on Earth. I thought the plyea thing was just to show that W&H exists in many forms in many dimenions. On Earth it is Wolfram & Hart, the lawfirm, there it was the religion. Illyria speaks of the whole "Wolf, Ram and Hart" thing as if they were 3 demons or species of demons that used to be weak but just got powerful. Yet Angel puts them over as eternal. Anya 0 Report post Posted June 15, 2004 Angel asks if it can be killed. Lorne says the downside of manifestation here is that it can be.
Guest Brian Report post Posted June 15, 2004 Eh, it could only manifest itself on earth in the form of that demon. In Reprise, Holland put over evil as always being there, and that's what Wolfram and hart thrives upon. That's what Angel alludes to, that they can't be defeated. By establishing the firm, they've built up their power on Earth as well as using the other influences in seperate dimensions.

BRING IT ON. 22) 5-6 The Cautionary Tale of Numero Cinco **1/2 Defiently agree. I find it funny that the guy from the Buffy.nu article gave it a 9, but a "A Hole in the World" a 7.5. I bought season 5 on VCD from eBay for only $35.00. I figure the whole season for 35 isn't bad, plus I want to see the season in whole so I can fairly rate it with the other seasons. As of right now here is, GoD not again, the season list. 1. 4 2. 5 3. 3 4. 2 5. 1 5 might jump in front of 4, but I doubt it. And after watching season 6 AGAIN, it passed season 3 on my list, well for right now. 1. 5 2. 6 3. 3 4. 2 5. 7 6. 4 7.
Anya 0 Report post Posted June 15, 2004 According to Ilyria they haven't always been all powerful and eternal though. Was she the first to call them the wolf, ram and hart? Gunn's goatee is cool. And this really wasn't what I was imagining Gwen being. I pictured a chinese person with a straw hat.

Anya 0 Report post Posted June 15, 2004 Ram and Hart are pretty lame names for demons.
Guest Brian Report post Posted June 15, 2004 The books in Pylea were the Wolf, Ram, and Hart. And they weren't always powerful, they just managed to survive. They found their way into the cracks and crevasses, and they worked their way in.
Mole 0 Report post Posted June 15, 2004 Ram and Hart are pretty lame names for demons. I believe Joss and crew decided that were demons after they had named the law firm, Wolfram and Hart.
Hank Kingsley 0 Report post Posted June 15, 2004 Alexa Davalos (Gwen) is in "The Chronicles of Riddick", I think. I miss that outfit of hers. "I said discrete!" "What, do you see a nipple?"
Mole 0 Report post Posted June 15, 2004 Alexa Davalos (Gwen) is in "The Chronicles of Riddick", I think. I miss that outfit of hers. "I said discrete!" "What, do you see a nipple?" They should have put Gwen into some season 5 storyline. She would have been a BIG help in the Circle of the Black Thorn breakdown.
Guest Brian Report post Posted June 15, 2004 Nah. Gwen was rogue, she was totally out for herself. It wouldn't have fit her. Remember, she jumped ship during the rain of fire.
Guest reekspeak Report post Posted June 15, 2004 Well Wes was rogue, I'm sure they could have fit her in. Currently it's best of Angel season in the UK with viewers voting for their favourite episodes, currently 'Awakening' is on and I'm wondering, did this episode contain the only full fledged fight between Angel and Connor? The only other instances I can remember are times when they didn't really get going or Angel simply didn't fight back.
Guest Brian Report post Posted June 16, 2004 Gwen was an opportunist. She was out for herself. Wes was still fighting the good fight, even if he was seperated. Where does everyone assume she would have fit in that whole thing anyway? Yeah, she was hot, and she could have lent a hand, but what stake would she have had.
