The One and Only Angel Season 5 Thread

We could do one disk at a time for the "DVD" club.

 

I just watched "Couplet" om repeats today. I love the little scenes, how they use the music from Cordy and Gru for Angel and Connor at the end. They really pushed the Gru thing in and out really quickly, and I'd like to have seen more of his effects on the dynamic with Angel, but I think they did a fine job with what they were aiming for in terms of how it ended, especially with Wes' discovery. Not to big on the middle of the show, what with the networking tree. Still, this has to be one of the most touching lines in the series:

 

Wes: "I thought I was alone."

 

Angel: "Yeah. (Looks at Connor with a smile) So did I."

Groo should have been around more, he's so cool. They need to do a special where Groo, Illyria and Anya all hang out. They could play Crash or something.

Today I was thinking about how Anya said that she wonders what it would be like to hang out with the Scoobies now and what not.

 

I was thinking the same thing, and I don't think I would enjoy it too much. I would enjoy the research portion, but I think it would get a tad bit boring at times.

 

They don't seem to party too much either.

We only see the interesting monster stuff though. Days, even weeks, go by with them just leading their normal lives. Like Xander and Anya have a lot to do, they both run businesses. We hardly ever get to see them alone just chilling out in their apartment. I am like obsessed with their normal lives. I want to see it more. No baby sitting Dawn or calling Buffy to warn her about monsters. Just them like having breakfast and getting ready for work. That would be so cool. I also want to see more of their apartment. You only see Xander's room and the main room. And even then, you only see the bed in Xander's room.

 

 

I can't figure out when she moved in with him. You would think it would be right after The Replacement, because he got the place for her, but she still has her own place in Into the Woods. Then in All The Way Giles asks if she is moving in but in OMWF she is there. I want to know this. I deserve to know.

does anyone know where i can download 'your welcome.' i have my vcr setup to tape angel every day, but it didn't work today. i was checking tvtome's episode guide and it said cordelia was in it. i would really like to know what happened/ will happen with cordelia. I have tried buffy.nu, but the download just stops after a couple minutes without completing the download. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

buffy.nu starting working ago so i was able to see the episode(i'm watching season 5 for the first time), and i loved this episode so much, but let me tell you it is one of the most depressing things i've seen(tv, movies, etc). i love lindsey's charcter, the sword fight was great and i love the little nods to doyle, but why can't joss let two people be happy?!?

I am sooo hyped for season 7. It's only a few weeks away. I can't wait to watch Selfless over and over and the other eps. I need to memorize every Xanya scene in them. No more fast forward through commercials when I want to watch Chosen too.

 

I wish they'd show the disc art. I want to know if Emma got one. No, wait, that will never happen. When I mean is I want to know who stole her spot. Probably Kennedy.

I know it's been said before, but Forgiving is a badass episode. It's not the highlight by any means, but I loved this line from Angel to Justine. It's just so mean.

It makes no sense to me that Buffy DVDs don't come out in America for AGES, yet, season 7 has been on sale here in Australia for the best part of 6 months.

all this talk about wondering about the normal lives of the characters led me to think, that yes we do need a spinoff that has nothing or little to do with fighting evil. just a sitcom with the scoobs.

When I get S7, I will be able to watch the Xanya scenes. I can't wait. Sometimes I will put in a DVD and just skip to the Xanya scenes then rewind and watch them over and over. It will be great to do that with S7, since i've only seen the eps like 2 or 3 times. The only thing I am not looking forward to is seeing Anya's horrible outfits and hair in the first 4 eps and her ugly pink hat in LMPTM. Yes, I am so hardcore I can remember what they wear in the different eps.

 

 

Real life spin off would be so great. It should take place during season 5 and 6. They should do a Xanya movie based on the time when Buffy was dead.

I thought the recommendation was to start at Angel Season 2.
