RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted October 23, 2003 All I know is that I'd hate to be that guy right now. And Darla + Corset = :) Julie Benz doesn't really do much for me, but there are some aspects of Darla that are so fuckly... ah, you'll see it when you get there. LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted October 23, 2003 I loved tonight's episode, but I didn't see any nudity. Next week from what I read in the spoilers is gonna be an awesome episode. It's pretty funny sounding.

And Darla + Corset = :) Julie Benz doesn't really do much for me, but there are some aspects of Darla that are so fuckly... ah, you'll see it when you get there. The only thing that I like about is her voice. It can be so damn sexy at times.
LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted October 23, 2003 I find Julie Benz hot personally. I don't know about you guys. And you're right her voice is damn sexy.
Guest EQ Report post Posted October 23, 2003 Julie Benz is extremely hot. So is Mercedes McNab. Actually, a lot of hot women have been on Angel (Kate)
Mecha Mummy 0 Report post Posted October 23, 2003 Oh shit, episode previews! Forgot all about it. What's on tap for the next ep?
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted October 23, 2003 I believe it's a halloween eps. gone wrong... which is self-explanitory. (Eps preview, nothing spoiled but, ya know...) Spoiler (Highlight to Read): At Wolfram and Hart's Halloween party Lorne's timely advice to his friends starts happening literally leading to trouble when his subconscious manifests itself with a little help from a bedgrudging demonic guest at the party. Mole 0 Report post Posted October 23, 2003 Julie Benz is extremely hot. So is Mercedes McNab. Actually, a lot of hot women have been on Angel (Kate) McNab doesn't do much for me at all. Charisma is the hottest lady on Angel, IMHO.
LaParkaMarka 0 Report post Posted October 23, 2003 I liked this ep. Really enjoyed the whole "He's going to hell!", "Well, yeah", "Of course", "Where else would he go?". And, as always, Fred's legs = good. Fred in the shower is also good. Now they just need Fred and Eve in the shower. I liked how they did the cheesy ghost scares person who is alone bit at the beginning, then pretty much based the ep around that. Good stuff.
Mole 0 Report post Posted October 23, 2003 I don't get one thing though. I know Spike commited lots of sins in his life, but since he saved the world, wouldn't that erase them? I'd figure GoD would give him some lean way on that.
Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted October 23, 2003 Great ep. I'm really digging the "give Fred lots of time" thing, because she's really coming into her own as one of the most fun, interesting characters on the show. No longer is she just "chick Wesley and Gunn both want." This was definitely the best ep so far; a nice mix of monster-of-the-week and continuity, with some excellent camerawork. I've always loved the stuff Steven S. DeKnight has done with both shows, and this ep really felt complete. Guess that's what you get when the writer directs his own script. Mole 0 Report post Posted October 23, 2003 That is the way it should almost be. When a writer writes the script, they have their own vision of the movie/episode. Then the director gets their hands on it and might do something different. When I write my first script, which I am in the process of right now, I hope to direct it myself. Granted that won't happen in a few years, but it will happen!
dubq 0 Report post Posted October 23, 2003 Great episode... I'm glad this season is picking up, since I had my doubts during the first two episodes. One thing, though. If Spike isn't corporeal, couldn't touch things, etc. How was he sitting on the couch next to Angel? ;p He must have "wanted to sit on that couch" really bad. Just kidding. ;p Seriously, great episode. Who thinks that Reaper is going to return down the road? EDIT: Where's Harmony? We need more Spike + Harmony interaction!!! Anakin Flair 0 Report post Posted October 23, 2003 I don't get one thing though. I know Spike commited lots of sins in his life, but since he saved the world, wouldn't that erase them? I'd figure GoD would give him some lean way on that. I think they were playing off Spike's fear that, even though he saved the world, he was still going to go to hell for his sins. Charisma is the hottest lady on Angel, IMHO. Maybe in the first 2 seasons ... but when she decided to cut her hair, my interest was pretty much lost. Oh yeah, and her fucking connor didn't help.... I hate that mother fucker
Mole 0 Report post Posted October 23, 2003 Connor got annoying at times, but I actually liked him. Maybe it was because he was SUCH a bad ass, he grew on me.
Ripper 0 Report post Posted October 23, 2003 My take on this show: 1: Loved the beganing of the show. I think the cutting off fingers guy steps up there in one of the more graphic scenes of violence to be on television ever. Kudos! 2: I liked the fact that they made sure to show that Fred was not falling for the Spike flirting. That is good. Because like she said, she isn't some school girl, and making her character all shakey over him would have pissed me off. 3: A very Angel-lite episode. ANd the way it was structured, you hardly noticed. Spike was there nearly the whole show and it didn't feel like overkill. Now that is just good writing. 4: I love how EVERYONE knew that Spike was going to hell. Angel, Wes, Gunn...they built it for 2 weeks about how only fred knew and how it was a big thing and the whole time they just assumed it anyway. The music swelling and cutting off...great. 5: Angel no longer believes the Shanshu propchocey like he did in the beganing of season 2. He believes that when he dies he will go to hell. So basically he is doing this just to be a champion. That one scene spoke more about his character than anything. He honestly believes that he can never right his wrongs and make repentance. But he fights on...and so does Spike. 6: Angel is the only one in the world that liked Spikes poems. Spikes, "You like Barry Manilow" did have me wondering...did Angelus listen to Manilow when he was in Sunnydale with Spike? Because how would Spike know? 7: James Marsters continues to be my god of acting. I liked his little "I'm going crazy" scene when noone else could see the ghost. Nice little throw back to Crazy Spike from season 7 Buffy. 8: The blonde that led the conjuring or whatever...GOLD. Ever line that came out of her mouth was so snarky and I loved every second of her...until she spit her insides all over the table...ugh. 9: Eve...she was a LITTLE too helpful. And she just isn't bring the FOXY~! as RRR puts it. 10: Freds Legs...4 weeks running. Give them a opening credit. They've gotten more screen time than Loren. 11: A little more Wes this week, but still not enough. And Loren was nonexistant(although next week, he appears to be part of the major story) 12: The Reaper...he was right on the line of cool and corney. The way he talked, what he was...just a damn good character. 13: Spike can touch stuff now. That is good, now we can get through the lapses in logic surrounding his non coporealisness that exist in every ghost movie. 14: No Harmony DAMMIT!!!!! Overall, very good ep, best of the season. Rankings: Ep:4 Ep:2 Ep:1 Ep:
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted October 23, 2003 The scene with Angel and Spike said that no matter what _they_ do, they still _did_ what they did in the past, and nothing can erase that. They're both going to hell, it's just a matter of making what time they have left worth it. Though I don't like Angel saying the prophecy is a lie since they basically based the show in its first few seasons ON that prophecy.
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted October 23, 2003 "He's a champion too" "I hate that word" I could have sworn Angel said "I like your palms" to Spike...
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted October 23, 2003 Oh and I totally agree on that Angel thing... he was barely in the eps. but how he was used - it made him out to be the "big guy". As if we were all lucky to have him on screen... dispite the name of the show being "Angel", and the past 4 years dedicated to him... it's still like every time he was on screen "OMG it's ANGEL!".. ok, it wasn't like that, but he was given added importance. 1)Telling Fred about the Budget, 2)Telling Spike about the Prophecy, 3)Knocking the fuck outta Reaper, 4)Locking Reaper away - every move, a powerplay. Though I don't like Angel saying the prophecy is a lie since they basically based the show in its first few seasons ON that prophecy. I think between losing Connor(and finding out about the false prophecy), and the entire Jasmine thing(it all being a set up) to the elevator ride to see the senior partners in season 2, it has jaded his view on the whole prophecy thing. RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted October 23, 2003 Yeah, I can definitely see that... it's just, the Ginsu Prophecy was integral to the show for the longest time.
Ripper 0 Report post Posted October 23, 2003 When that scene in season 3 came along, when the "Father will consume the child" or whatever was proven to be false, the FIRST thing I thought of was that Prophecy and how Angel would think that if this can be a lie, why can't all of them. RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted October 23, 2003 Angel *did* end up killing Connor though. Besides, the prophecy has been pretty bang-on so far. "The beast shall arise from under the ground" "after the darkness"
LaParkaMarka 0 Report post Posted October 23, 2003 He did? But Connor is still alive, yes?
Mole 0 Report post Posted October 23, 2003 I think that is the whole point, Angel not believing the prophecy. Like RRR said, so far the prophecy has been true. If this is the last season of Angel, I believe that Angel will become human again after doing something big. They are making it seem that it isn't true, then all of a sudden, bam, it is true.
