The One and Only Angel Season 5 Thread

Recommended Posts

I know this is the Angel thread, but I'm watching "School Hard" right now and I didn't remember how good this episode was.

Anyway, there was a nice mess up in the show. Spike said that Angel was his sire -- but it was Dru not Angel!!! Well Angel sired Dru, and Dru sired Spike soo Angel did sort of kind of. But not really.

EDIT: 200 post in this thread, RRR your so behind...

Sire in its traditional usage can also be extended to mean grandsire, great-grandsire and so on. So it's not completely wrong or contradictory to what we've been told.

I'm another who marked for Lindsey, and the episode as a whole. Him appearing in the bed with Eve really is one of the greatest swerves in Buffy or Angel history. It'll be interesting to see how much of what's happened in the past few years was his doing, or at least how much he takes credit for or if he's just a pawn himself.

Yeah I know, but it still annoyed me!!!!

Yes that was a big swerve, I'm not sure about the biggest.

I'd have to go with Angel loosing his soul in season 2, that's a pretty big swerve. I don't think ANYONE saw that coming.

Considering the WB hyped their little Buffy two-night event a few years back with the promise of Willow, Angel, Xander or Giles turning during "Surprise/Innocence" I'd have to say picking Angel to go bad was a fairly safe bet. They just happened to ACE the Angelus follow-thru.

I don't know what show you were watching, but it made sense to me. The way I heard it, he [spike] did say that Dru sired him and that Angel sired her, and therefore Angel was the reason for him being a vampire...

I just figured out that even if Lindsey did have his memory erased by W & H, Eve probably told him what happened anyway.

BTW I'm still not sure if Lindsey was behind the Beast or not. I just don't see what he would have to gain.

I ALWAYS made the connection that the sire is the person who made them into a vampire. Angel did not make Spike into a vampire, it was Dru. Yes Angel turned Dru so there is a connection, but I think there was a tiny mess up there.

Joss isn't perfect, he does make some mistakes, but he is a genius.

On another note, I was wondering why we hadn't heard anything of the Buffy Thankgiving Marathon on FX yet, so I checked out the new TV Guide and it looks like they aren't having it this year. Weaksauce! Especially since this would be the first year we would have every ep to choose from.

Quick question: Who the hell is Lindsey?

He was one of the top lawyers at Wolfram and Hart in Angel Seasons 1 & 2.

He was an evil SOB who, after most of the big wigs were killed by Darla and Dru, took over along side Lilah the "special projects" division.

At one point in season one he had a change of heart and helped Angel, but in the end he rejoined W&H. Then when W&H were bringing back Darla, Angle cut off Lindsey's hand to get a scroll back.

Lindsey got a plastic hand to replace his old one and throughout season 2 he fell in love with Darla. Once Lindsey found out Darla slept with Angel he started beating the hell out of Angel with a sledgehammer. Angel got the hammer away from him and smashed his fake hand.

Lindsey was then given a human hand that was grafted on, but it turned out to be evil and uncontrolable until they killed the person it came from, who was still alive in the W&H organ/body part harvesting room. In that room were people kept alive so their parts could be used. Once Angel and Lindsey killed the guy his hand was okay.

At this point Lindsey had enough with W&H and left. On his way out of town Angel stuck a sign on the back of Lindsey's truck that said, "Cops Suck"

Speaking of Buffy, is there any plans for a movie yet? The show had a nice finale, but meh, the Spike/Buffy stiff was totally unresolved. It felt like it ended right when it was getting good.

Watching the series from the beginning for the first time now (Yeah, season 7 was my first season), it kinda sucks knowing that none of the relationships will ever go anywhere. Did they do that on purpose?

In Buffy's case her relationships all failed to show that she could never have a normal life as a slayer. So yeah that was on purpose. I guess all the other characters were to show that friends of Buffy couldn't have a normal life either. Which makes the ending of "Chosen" so much better because they can finally have a normal life.

I was wrong about the Lindsey thing...

I put spoiler tags up for Superstar, seeing how he is still watching seasons 1 or 2.

Spoiler (Highlight to Read):

WELLLLLL, back in season 1 and 2 Lindsey worked for W&H as one of the big evil lawyers. At one point at the end of season 1, it looked lke he was going to join Angel's team, but found the lure of money more exciting and stayed evil.

During the last episode of seaosn 1, he lost his hand and from Angel's wrath but still had enough time to bring Darla back.

Where into season 2 and he is still an evil lawyer. W&H give him a hand again, but it turns out to be a hand of a murderererer. SOO, he asks Angel for help and he lives LA on a good note.

Until we find him banging FOXY Eve, with some badass tattoos.

I was going to make this more exciting with pictures, but BuffyWorld.com didn't put picutures up for Angel season 1 and 2, oh well.

My summary is shorter and funnier, so :P

I know they couldn't have normal relationships but there's nothing that should have to stop say Xander and Anya getting together and staying together. Or Xander and Willow, or even Giles and that girl he was dating in season 2. But none of them make it through. I don't know how yet, it just sucks knowing they don't.

Which makes the ending of "Chosen" so much better because they can finally have a normal life.

Except heh, there's a hell mouth in Cleveland and there's a LOT of work for them ahead. That was the best part of the finale.

They should have just made Giles do the work for bringing it up at such a bad time.

It's called making good television.

And the chick from season 2 was Jenny.

While I'd love to see a "Buffy" movie, what could they do? the one thing that limited the time that Buffy could go on was how they set up the big bads- each one was more powerfull every year. They went from:

The Master

To Angelus/Spike/Dru

To The Mayor/Pure Demon

to Adam/Gov

to Glory the Hellgod

They then took a break to become depressing, giving us the Troika and ultimately Dark Willow

then they went all out and gave us the uber-bad First Evil.

If they do a movie, who would be the big bad? Dark Willow maybe, but she seems to be gone thanks to the slayer activation spell( the white hair symbolizing Willow being purified) and the fact that she has Kennedy to support her. Maybe the First again, but I'd doubt it. Wolfram and Hart? Could be.

But again, I hope they do have a movie. There are still things they can do (wrapping up Spike-Buffy, Slayer Acadamey, etc). but I doubt we'll see anything like that anytime soon.
