That makes no sense. Your favorite character dies in the ep, and it isn't exactly a great ep to begin with. Masochist.

Yeah, but I've been watching season 7 again and seen all the eps, so I'm into the story again and want to see the conclusion. Plus it's the finale, that alone makes it special, even if it sucks. There's some good things I want to see again too, like Andrew's scenes. I don't want to see Anya die ever again, but I am compelled to. It's like driving by a car wreck. I just have to look.

Not Fade Away got better as I watched it more. Maybe Chosen will too. Or not...

Caleb's death was weaker than I remember. What a lame last fight. Why wasn't he in the final battle?

I noticed the cut joke too.

This Wood/Faith scene is good. All the build is good. The way Faith says "I got mad skills" is funny.

There is something to it that makes this ep exciting, even though I know what happens and know what happens sucks. It's the final battle...

Hahah, the ubies are so weaksauce.

The effects people screwed up big time in one scene. Anya slices one in the gut then the head but it starts the dusting animation after the first cut.

The final battle isn't nearly as epic as I remember it. It's just a big group battle with them not doing much at all, just swinging swords. Wood looks cool with the daggers though.

Spike's sacrifice is so weird. Like the image of him just standing there talking to Buffy while this laser beam shoots out from his chest is just silly. I hate how he is just standing there. The amulet does everything. It's also weird how he demands to stay and finish it, yet it's already done. The place is going to collaypse even if he had took it off and leave. Like 15 seconds pass after Buffy leaves before he vaporizes.

The slayers did like nothing too. They kill 30 ubies at most before the amulet kicks in. Xander claims they saved the world, yet it was really Wolfram & Hart.

Because she was hired and under contract as a regular. It doesn't matter how much or little you're in, it's all about your contract.

Which makes NFA really fitting for Spike because he went out fighting, which was what that speach with Angel was all about.

That is how Angel will be on the animated series.

Notice Angel mentions he thought Buffy would look bigger? Yet later we find out he had seen her before...

It's funny how Darla was a weak mid-season minion on Buffy yet became a major player years later.

although he saw her from inside a car with stuff smeared on the windows, trying to avoid sunlight, from across the street. Maybe he thought she looked bigger than she was

Ya know, I was watching Chosen (still hate its fucking guts, what a generic crappy finale), and an odd question struck me: what is the badass hierarchy of the Buffyverse? I mean, if we made a list of "Top 10 Toughest People in Jossland", who would be on it, and in what order? Buffy would obviously be #1, that's kinda the whole point of the series, but after that it gets ambiguous and interesting. Would you rank Angel over Spike? Who's tougher, Caleb or Hamilton? Would Evil Willow kick Ilyria's ass? All kinds of intriguing arguments there.

But already we got problems. First of all, Gunn's on there twice.

Personally, I think Buffy should be #1, period. She consistently beat both Spike and Angel(us) every time they fought. When Caleb punched Spike or Angel, they get knocked the fuck out; Buffy just gets back up and keeps swinging.

How about we institute one rule to keep things simpler: a person's strength is counted from either the end of the series (Chosen or NFA) or at the time of their demise, if they're dead. (That means that Evil Willow and Goddess Ilyria don't count.)

Faith was supposed to be four.

And I'm not just talking about fighting, but Angel and Spike were supremely badass both with and without their souls. One-on-one, not so hot, but in terms of the whole package.

I think full-powered Illyria could pretty much beat any of the other big guns in the Whedonverse. She EASILY beat Angel and co. in that future scene.

Of course, I don't think she would win in a fight with a full-god version of Glory.

That's the thing: I am talking about fighting, about who could kick who's ass. I've been trying to come up with a list of my own, but the shows' own inconsistencies keep me from making some firm choices. In the last few episodes of Angel, for example, Ilyria was a huge badass, absolutely beating the shit out of both Spike and Angel. But then, Hamilton trashed her without breaking a sweat. HOWever, Angel killed Hamilton... and Spike has toughened up to the point that he can beat Angel now... so it's all very confusing.

Adding villains makes it too hard. Top tier big bads are so much stronger than anyone. Like how would anyone top Adam? It took a massive spell creating Uber Buffy to take him down. Glory took a wrecking ball. Even weaker big bads like Caleb or The Master are way ahead of guys like Gunn or Giles.

Without villains...

1.Buffy

2.Angel

3.Spike

4.Faith

5.Illyria

6.Connor

7.Wesley

8.Riley

9.Giles

Illyria was severly weakened by that ray Wesley used on her. I would say she was about 1/3 of her full strength after being de-powered. That's still a lot of power if you think about it. Hamilton wasn't really THAT strong when you compare him to someone like Glory.

I'd say Hamilton was a bit weaker than Caleb.

Okay, I'll revise things. My first list was pretty messed up in hindsight. Illyria gets listed twice, once before she got tamed when she was fighting against the group and once for afterwards, as do Willow and Faith.

Good Guys:

1. Buffy

2. Spike

3. Angel

4. Faith

5. Connor

6. Willow

7. Illyria

8. Wes

9. Giles

10. Gunn

Bad Guys:

2. Glory

3. Illyria

3. Angellus

4. Willow

7. Faith

8. Hamilton

9. Caleb
