MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2003 I cant get a good picture.. So I'll describe it... Benjamin went and got a steel chair and then back in the ring, he elbowed Eddy, and Chavo came from behind and kicked him in the back of his left knee. Benjamin fell backwards akwardly on top of Chavo and possibly (can't tell for sure due to the camera angle) also got a piece of the chair. He immediately grabbed his knee and rolled out of the ring in a heap to the floor. Haas went outside to look at Benjamin, rolled in and got double suplex where he got folded up and landed on the back of his neck. Then Chavo suplexed him again and held him until Eddy did the frog splash and his right knee might have gotten a piece of the side of Haas' head as well. After reading about how Benjamin's knee had already been hurt/injured and this wasn't the actual cause for him needing surgery, it makes sense the way it happened. Haas' probably did get knocked silly from landing on the back of his neck and the knee from the frog splash probably didn't help much either.
MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2003 Now, before I get started I'd like to state that for the last year and a half I've been watching Smackdown on my large satellite. The feed has always been shown at the same location, within the same relative time frame. There have been problems before, but the entire feed has never been later than 6 am thursday morning over the last year and a half. Now, Im not claiming to know a lot about the way the WWE feeds Smackdown to UPN affiliates, other than this. 1 - I get a "For TV" version every thursday morning between the hours of midnight and 4 am. The feed is split into 2 segments, 1 for each hour. Each segment lasts approx 45 minutes since there are no commercials (there are placeholders). 2 - There is also a Spanish Audio feed of Smackdown at 1:30 pm. As of right now, 1rst segment has been fed (delayed unusually however), but the 2nd segment of Tonights Smackdown, containing the Ironman match in full, has not been fed on the satellite. Now I don't know if the WWE has another feed prior to the feed thursday mornings that I recieve or not. If they do, than this whole post is pointless and can be deleted. And they could have rescheduled/relocated the feed and I would never know in time enough to find it. I don't want to create mass hysteria on the internet about there not being any Ironman match on Smackdown, so please don't go spreading this around to 57 million sites. Im fairly sure that everyone who can recieve UPN (barring the hurricane) will get the match in some way or another. I don't know what the cause of this is, but it probably only means that I wont get to see the match (I probably wont get the spanish feed due to the stupid Hurricane). If I find anything out or see anything I'll update. In the relatively small chance that this turns out to be a big story (IE no one gets the Ironman Match), eh..you heard it here first or something...
Fökai 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2003 I'd assume this is attributed to the production department spending their time meticulously editing the Ironman Match to weave it in with commercial breaks*. *especially considering after every commercial break, they'll probably do a "During the break" explanation, which would require Tazz and Cole to insert in new commentary. Spaceman Spiff 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2003 Ironman Match Tazz's Key's To Victory Brock Lesnar 1 Strong Style 2 Numerous F-5's 3 Channeled Rage Kurt Angle 1 1rst Ankle Lock 2 Mat Game 3 No Angle Slam? (Brock could counter it..) "Tazz's Keys to Victory"? That's pretty sweet, they should try to do that every time there's a relatively "big" match on SD. And, oooh boy, Ripper's not going to like Cena's rap.

They also did the Tale of the Tape and a video promo hyping the last two singles meetings between the two (Mania/Summerslam) and calling this Angle/Lesnar 3. If I was only able to watch it. Damn it. *Hoping the hurricane holds out long enough for me to see the Spanish feed*
MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2003 The match is being fed now..Kurt just missed a moonsault. I dont know how far its in though..
Spaceman Spiff 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2003 They've used "tale of the tape" a bunch of times before. I think this is the 1st "Tazz's KTV", though.
Crimson Platypus 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2003 What the fuck did Kilborn say about Owen? "The Blue Blazer fell 50 feet from the top of the arena to his death however his partner the white turtleneck was not harmed." That's hilarious.
Guest Polish_Rifle Report post Posted September 18, 2003 I don't want to start a new thread for this question so I'll just post it here. What happened to Bill DeMott?
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2003 I'm looking forward to the tale of the tape and tazz's keys to victory more than the actual match...

I don't know if it's just that I'm a callous prick or something, but Kilbourn's joke isn't too offensive to me, nor is the Ritter reference in the rap. A little distasteful? Yes. But overly offensive? Not at all.

Ripper 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2003 4 days or 4 years, what's the difference? They are still going to be dead no matter how long has passed since their death. lets see: Family still mourning their loss over family having moved on...whats the difference. No one can sit here and tell me they find it cool to make offensive jokes about peoples dead loved ones days after it happened on national television. I understand its "cool" to be anti-PC and such, but there is a such thing as common decency. I know, the WWE should be the last place I am looking for decent, upstanding behaviour, but the point still stands.
Crimson Platypus 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2003 But the fact is I don't find either of the comments to be offensive. I don't care what you or anyone else thinks about PC or anti-PC or whatever. I wasn't offended, I was amused.
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2003 I agree, I am not offended by the joke but am surprised at the lack of basic humanity when these jokes are made... especially on a national level. It completely dehumanizes and objectifies death.
Crimson Platypus 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2003 One other thing, I doubt the Hart family has "moved on" after losing their son/brother/husband/etc.

The Ritter one is worth than the Blue Blazer joke ... because the way he said it, it wasn't an "Owen Hart" joke, it was a play on words meaning a jacket that happened to be a certain color (a blazer that was blue) that are often worn with white turtleneck's. The Ritter one was a blatant rip on a real person that really died. But, still, it doesn't offend ME. Ripper, it offends you, so to you it is offensive. But to me, who's not offended by it, it's NOT. Neither opinion is right, neither is wrong. They're just different. And this isn't some attempt at posturing "oooh, look at me being un-PC" ... it's the way that I feel, and the way that I am. One of my closest friends killed himself in high school, and people made jokes that day. Did it piss me off? Hell yeah. Did it offend me? No.
