Damaramu Posted September 22, 2003 Report Posted September 22, 2003 Ok this is the 3rd topic we've had on it. And everyone said "Wait until there match...." well Shane-O-Mac defenders....PLEASE DEFEND THAT PIECE OF SHIT NOW! Ok so here we go....Shane vs. Kane. What did Shane do? Of course he put himself over! Did he put Kane over as a monster in any way shape or form? Hell no. He went toe to toe with Kane and had him down good a lot. Then in the end did Kane beat Shane? NO Shane beat Shane. It wasn't because of something that Kane did that beat Shane...it was Shane's own stupidity. Kane leaves this match worse than he went in and Shane is put over big again.....so please...how is he the good McMahon again?
Styles Posted September 22, 2003 Report Posted September 22, 2003 I agree, I hated that finish, because Kane didn't actually do anything to beat Shane, it was just his own stupidity (or amazing bravery!) It was an intense brawl but I think the better ending would be a simple Kane chokeslam through the gimmicked stage.
LooseCannon25 Posted September 22, 2003 Report Posted September 22, 2003 I whole heartedly fuckin agree, as i just posted my thought son another thread. I pissed me off so much that Kane didnt BEAT Shane, he won the match but he needed Shane to beat himself. Then after the match he just leaves quickly as all the attention is put right back on Shane. That bothered me more than anything else tonight and it's pathetic how self serving all of the McMahons are,.
Guest OnlyMe Posted September 22, 2003 Report Posted September 22, 2003 The only explanation can be that Shane is a better wrestler than Kane. After the "coast to coast" or whatever silly name they gave to the move, Kane was out for AGES. The only thing that stopped him from losing the match was the referee bump. Anything after that point is meaningless, because in storyline terms, Shane should have won the match then. So Shane is the better wrestler. Nik, who thinks it's retarded, too
Guest Boomer Sprinklespax Posted September 22, 2003 Report Posted September 22, 2003 Yeah, well, maybe Shane'll be gone for another year or so.
Guest The Old Me Posted September 22, 2003 Report Posted September 22, 2003 I agree. I thought it all fucking sucked.
CanadianChick Posted September 22, 2003 Report Posted September 22, 2003 Yeah, well, maybe Shane'll be gone for another year or so. Doesn't matter. The damage is done. It won't be sold that Kane is a monster; the match will be sold as Shane being brave and getting *thisclose* to defeating Kane.
Guest Mindless_Aggression Posted September 22, 2003 Report Posted September 22, 2003 Oh come on guys! He jumps off of high stuff! So it's okay if he puts himself over the talent! But yes, seriously, I just sat there wondering who the fuck Kane spit on in the back because that was just horribly booked.
Guest OnlyMe Posted September 22, 2003 Report Posted September 22, 2003 Yeah, Kane disappeared after the match, and the whole focus was on Shane's injuries. If they had to do it like that, then Kane should have been standing over him laughing, or something. Nik, who wouldn't have needed a stretcher
Kurt Angle Mark Posted September 22, 2003 Report Posted September 22, 2003 I guess that 's what Kane gets for missing HHH's bachelor party.
CanadianChick Posted September 22, 2003 Report Posted September 22, 2003 Unless they somehow salvage this tomorrow, the push Kane has gotten will be rendered pointless. That may sound drastic, but it's true.
The Tino Standard Posted September 22, 2003 Report Posted September 22, 2003 Not sure if this was mentioned in the PPV thread, but can somebody explain to me why when Shane took all that time to climb up the scaffolding, why wasn't the referee counting Kane out? He was "out cold" and flat on his back for an eternity.

Guest Anglesault Posted September 22, 2003 Report Posted September 22, 2003 Unless they somehow salvage this tomorrow, the push Kane has gotten will be rendered pointless. That may sound drastic, but it's true. I said this would happen the minute Egofuck McMahon showed up, but everyone was to busy jumping up and down that Shane was back

I'm not trying to defend the idiocy of the entire thing, I'm just looking for the silver lining.
Enigma Posted September 22, 2003 Report Posted September 22, 2003 It's common knowledge that Shane doesn't want to be on TV and that he has no power whatsoever on what goes on TV. It's all Vince and Steph's thing, since they are the creative heads. So get off Shane's fucking nuts already. It's not his call.

If Shane said "Ya know, Sis, how about I DON'T manhandle Kane repeatedly and instead stay off TV" Steph would have beat him up and Vince would have disowned him

Oh please, it's painfully obvious that like the rest of his family he loves the spotlight and goes through every step to make himself out to be a superhero, and show up all the "wrestlers" with his big gimmicked bumps. With the addition of his soon to be brother in law to the family don't think he isn't looking to leverage for all the power he can get, too.

So he HAD to come back and feud with Kane or else he would be out of the family will....So he did this angle and looked so strong AGAINST his will huh.....Wake the hell up would you. Every McMahon including Ed is fuckin Selfserving Egomaniac.
Guest ToddRoyal Posted September 22, 2003 Report Posted September 22, 2003 Well, not Marissa, barring that stint as Livewire host and the episode of Stern. Thing is, she's the attractive one, and actually wasn't a bad host. Good thing we have 4 untalented egomaniacs to make-up for it.

The Ghost of bps21 Posted September 22, 2003 Report Posted September 22, 2003 I've got the perfect anti-Shane story for ya. So my friend went over to watch RAW over at the house of one of his wife's friends...and the guy he was watching it with wasn't a smark at all. He knows its not real...but that's about as far as it goes. So anyway, they're watching RAW the week after Shane came down and fought with Kane and he turns to my friend and said: "That Kane has been unstoppable... ...Until that Shane came back. He really whooped him." Rested point.
Guest wrestlingbs Posted September 22, 2003 Report Posted September 22, 2003 Shane's evil. Just like the whole family. It's just a matter of time before Linda Mcmahon comes back and pins Brock clean. I think Shane has the idea that if he does this stuff enough, the boys in the back will consider him a real wrestler and not just suck up to him because he's a Mcmahon (the only reason they suck up to him). The problem with that is that he takes tv time away from struggling wrestlers and puts it on himself. He doesn't have to worry about a job, they do. And that's why he'll never be considered an actual wrestler.
Enigma Posted September 22, 2003 Report Posted September 22, 2003 Explain why Shane stayed out of TV storylines for 21 months then? That doesn't sound to me like someone with an ego problem. After the WCW/ECW Alliance angle was killed, Shane was not in any significant storylines for almost 2 years while Stephanie returned after 2 months. Some ego he has.
The Ghost of bps21 Posted September 22, 2003 Report Posted September 22, 2003 But he sure made it back in time to kill off the one thing that has worked on RAW since the roster split. Good for him!!!

After the WCW/ECW Alliance angle was killed, Shane was not in any significant storylines for almost 2 years while Stephanie returned after 2 months. Some ego he has. You answered you own question earlier. Stephanie is the head writer, it's much easier to write herself into the shows. Plus soon to be hubby HHH is basically in a struggle for heir to the throne. Also mentioned was that Shane realizes the way he keeps his "legend" is huge bumps and giant slaying. He's smart enough to know that gets old if not done with breaks in between.
Enigma Posted September 22, 2003 Report Posted September 22, 2003 Getting beat by Kane. What a giant slayer.
The Ghost of bps21 Posted September 22, 2003 Report Posted September 22, 2003 Why do they bother trying to book a monster if they immediatly have to prove that a McMahon can go toe to toe with him?
Guest Anglesault Posted September 22, 2003 Report Posted September 22, 2003 Explain why Shane stayed out of TV storylines for 21 months then? That doesn't sound to me like someone with an ego problem. Why is he back at all? Just being on the show at all when he CERTAINLY has the power to say "no" shows he has an ego problem.
Styles Posted September 22, 2003 Report Posted September 22, 2003 Getting beat by Kane. What a giant slayer. But Kane never actually beat him! He was so brave and mighty that he climbed high into the heavens for a death defying display (or maybe it was a tasteful tribute to Owen Hart, who knows), but alas the monster moved. If only Shane hadn't been so brave and fearless!
