Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted September 22, 2003 Whenever I flip through the games or watch ESPN I hear over and over how these teams are improved, the real deal etc. I honestly don't see it. When I look at the Vikings I see a team that's grown fat off of playing horrible Bears and Lions teams and a Packers team that's only got Ahman Green playing well. Add to it the fact that they couldn't put away either the Bears or the Lions and I still see the same crappy team from last year who has yet to be tested. Same with the Broncos. They destroyed a horrible Chargers team and while the scoreboard read blowout they gave the Bengals every chance in the book to beat them. To me Portis is carrying this team on his back. Now I admit Ramsey's playing well right now but that's about all I can say. For every good thing this team does during a game they do something equally as stupid. Again got it's 2 wins off a Jets team that can't move the ball to save it's life and a pathetic Falcons team who's trying to run a power rushing game with Warrick Dunn. The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted September 22, 2003 The Vikings have the best chance of the three to make the playoffs because their 3 wins were all in the division...with 2 of them on the road. Broncos have a tough road with KC IMO...but I don't like their QB...and I'm not at all sold on their D. I don't believe the Skins make the playoffs.

Guest Smell the ratings!!! Report post Posted September 22, 2003 I really don't get the Broncos love. Thier D is "eh", thier formerly dangerous recievers have had thier balls cut off by Jake Plummer, Portis is basically carrying this team by himself. You know what? The're the Chargers. seriously, they paid millions to get rid of Griese to pay millions to get Plummer. Think about that. as for the Vikings, they'll win 9 games because the're in the worst division in football, then get killed in the playoffs. The Redskins haven't played anyone, but they do look good. But as long as Spurrier is the coach I'm just waiting for them to fuck up.

Guest El Satanico Report post Posted September 22, 2003 Vikings are improved because Culpepper is playing better than he did last year. Broncos...eh ESPN always talks about them and they have Clinton Portis. The Plummer experiment will struggle this year. I think it will work, but Plummer has bad habits and I think it will take one season before he breaks them. Redskins are improved because Ramsey is playing well, they have good starting WRs now and most importantly Spurrier shows that he learned his NFL lesson last season. Will they make the playoffs? No, because Ramsey is young and will struggle with inconsistency, but they are improved. Now they just need their talented Defense to play up to their potential, which having the same defensive scheme for two straight years will help them with next season. Guest HungryJack Report post Posted September 22, 2003 With Culpepper hurt now though, it's gonna be rough. And when is he gonna learn how not to fumble so much??? He's almost as bad as Mike Alstott.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted September 22, 2003 Culpepper is not Alstott bad maybe Ricky Williams bad. I think the Vikings can survive without Dante for awhile as they are very deep at running back. So all they have to do is play good ol fashion smash mouth football and they should do well. Being the champ of the weakest division is a good thing........at least they get a playoff spot. The Redskins, well they still have issues at the offense line until they can get a solid line the team will not win the close games. Great group of players at wide receiver but if the quarterback gets hurried or sacked it will not matter. Well at least Coles lived up to the hype unlike Peerless Price. Guest El Satanico Report post Posted September 22, 2003 Well at least Coles lived up to the hype unlike Peerless Price. Coles has a WR that teams need to worry about across from him. Price has a possesion #3 go over the middle WR across from him.
Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted September 22, 2003 Falcons don't play to their strengths at all. They have one of the best receiving backs in the NFL and don't use him at all.
The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted September 22, 2003 Regardless of who Price has accross from him...I think he has less than 100 yards in his three games...TOTAL.
Rob E Dangerously 0 Report post Posted September 22, 2003 No matter how much Woody Paige hypes Denver.. if they don't have a decent defense, the Chiefs will lay down 45 points on them. Jake Plummer, if he was so damn good, would have put up more than 88 yards and ZERO points on the pathetic KC defense last year when he played for the Cardinals. Remember that 49-0 score? I see no problem with running up the score on the Broncos if the oppertunity arises

What exactly do you want to be sold on? No one has picked them to go to the playoffs all everyone has said is that they were an improved team. They have the #1 offense right now, and the defense was ranked #3, but I am not sure now after the Giants game. IMO, it is an EASY sell to say they are an IMPROVED team. Thank you very much. Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted September 23, 2003 Announcers and such overselling them during games and the like. Had me scratching my head as they're improved but some announcers are acting like they were playoff material.

Remember that 49-0 score? It's the Cardinals...what do you expect. Plummer will live up to his potential now that he's in a good enviroment. It'll take time and it was insane for anyone to think Plummer's "transformation" would magically happen during his first Bronco's training camp.
MrRant 0 Report post Posted September 23, 2003 The Vikings are the team I would be most leery of in terms of whether they live up to it. Bad backs for Moss and Culpepper aren't good.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted September 23, 2003 Until they downgrade him to below questionable, Moss's back isn't a big deal.
MrRant 0 Report post Posted September 23, 2003 It could still affect his jumping ability as well as his speed. I don't think it's catastrophic or anything.
The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted September 23, 2003 They'll still win the division. The only competition is the Packers...and they lost to the Cardinals and can never be taken seriously again. On top of that...they've already beat the Pack at Lambeau
Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted September 23, 2003 The Vikings are going to easily win their division since all the other teams are a joke and they'll rack up 5-6 wins in the division. Add to that playing Arizona, San Diego, Oakland and various other weak teams they're going to go 10-6 by beating lesser teams then get destroyed in the playoffs by a contender.
The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted September 23, 2003 They've got a real good chance to sweep the division. They've already won 3...2 on the road. Even if they lose all their starters...they have to be 50-50 on beating the Bears again. And they get the Pack and Lions at home.
LaParkaMarka 0 Report post Posted September 23, 2003 Denver looked pretty darn impressive tonight. I was not sold on their D at all, still not sure about em, but they don't suck. They have Detroit next week, so they could easily be 4-0 heading into KC. Guess their true test is there.
