BoboBrazil Posted September 23, 2003 Report Posted September 23, 2003 -They will be adding a platform higher than the toprope to each ringpost to add a new dimension to flying moves on 10/24. -Another gimmick that is scheduled for the MLW debut in Dallas in November is a Toryumon style six sided ring. They are hoping to bring in guys from Toryumon that have experience working with it. -They are trying to break from the ECW look, so they are going to change the graphics and looks of the show. -wrestling observer newsletter 9-15 edition
Guest Indikator Posted September 23, 2003 Report Posted September 23, 2003 Wow, so they really ARE innovative for an US promotion
Silence Posted September 23, 2003 Report Posted September 23, 2003 They'd better do something about the lighting and the mic volume too, because I can barely hear a word anyone says on the mic except the ring announcer.
Guest Dynamite Kido Posted September 23, 2003 Report Posted September 23, 2003 That's amazing....somebody doing wrestling in a truely DIFFERENT manner? What next?
Open the Muggy Gate Posted September 23, 2003 Report Posted September 23, 2003 If the people end up liking these new innovations, MLW could become a big time player. They could be right up there with TNA possibly.
Guest JohnnySwift Posted September 23, 2003 Report Posted September 23, 2003 Didn't Eric Bischoff try and start a teen cruiserweight wrestling fed with the platforms on top of the turnbuckles a few years back? I think it started off being called Ring Rats production or something like that, then they changed the name. Does anyone else remember this?
BoboBrazil Posted September 23, 2003 Author Report Posted September 23, 2003 Yes, it was called matrats and that is where MLW got the idea from.
Guest Markingout Posted September 23, 2003 Report Posted September 23, 2003 Also for the October show LOW KI!!! Should be great. CIMA IN AMERICA :| !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!AHHAHH!!!!!!!!!!!! THIS IS GOING TO BE SOOO SWEET IF THEN CAN BRING HIM IN. Really it should be
Guest Dave O'Neill, Journalist Posted September 23, 2003 Report Posted September 23, 2003 Yup, CIMA's cool, but I'm watched the six sided ring match on the Best Of Japan 2002 set, and if anyone's in there who doesnt know what to do, the match will DIE. Its gonna require a great deal of planning and spot going through
cynicalprofit Posted September 25, 2003 Report Posted September 25, 2003 I could be wrong here, but didnt CIMA get seriously screwed up and quit or something of that nature. I could have sworn he atleast got seriously hurt.
Guest Joe_G Posted September 25, 2003 Report Posted September 25, 2003 I could be wrong here, but didnt CIMA get seriously screwed up and quit or something of that nature. I could have sworn he atleast got seriously hurt. He just worked for the promotion two days ago, so I'd say no. And I don't like the platform idea. Wrestling has been veering too closely to a stuntshow lately, this just crosses the line.
