I was there the second they went on sale and came away with nothing, but Jimmy with his high speed connection got in there fast and NOW WE ARE GOING TO WRESTLEMANIA XX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There was no 80,000 people trying for presale tickets today.

 

a) On the grand scale of things, not many fans even knew about this internet presale

 

b) Not many fans could be online, waiting for the second 9:00 strikes

 

c) This was basically a mostly New York wrestling fan base trying for these tickets, although obviously, they were some other fans trying as well.

 

Was no 80,000 people trying. But I honestly feel they didn't even put out a 1000 tickets today. Perhaps even less than 500. It boggles my mind how I could have not gotten anything.

Usually if people are going to pass on their tickets, they are freed up within the first half hour. At this point, it looks like a legit sellout. Then again, you never know...Ticketmaster is weird. Tomorrow is your best shot, but once again the high-speed Internet users and Ticketmaster-loophole-knowers are going to own your ass. If you go with a ticket broker, you're gonna pay more but at least you have a shot and a wide selection of seats.

I spent all night up because I couldn't sleep and I hit refresh on the browser billions of times in the morning until it came up...

 

I was supposed to buy tickets for myself, Nik Johnson and my best friend Keith and I had to settle for just one ticket.

We have simultaneous people buying at the MSG Box Office, Ticketmaster outlets, on the phone, and online - and only about 20,000 tickets. I just don't see it working out for me - again.

Me thinks the best time for scalping is in January. The hype will be high but the card will only be rumored. Then again, Angle/Lesnar was planned out on TV as early as December...

 

I'm just going with the automatic notion that I'm selling these unless I can pull together the money for a JetBlue flight.

 

Even then, I'm going to be sleeping on the plane and just visiting the city long enough to see Mania and go back to the airport and take another redeye flight if possible. I wonder how far JFK is from where I need to go?

How could so many people, ready to buy at 9:00 exactly, come away empty or with less than what they wanted ? I feel bad for the people that couldn't make it at 9, and decided to try at 10 instead, thinking "Hell, the presale ends at 9 tonight"

My only beef with the WWE at this point is at the Garden House shows they said SIGN UP FOR PASSWORD as a reward for all of you loyally going to our shows. Then they post it on the website.

 

I understand if there was 60,000 seats, but 20,000 seats was going to sell out no problem. They could have legitimately rewarded people like you and me and created goodwill with the longtime fans. Instead, they put the password everywhere and let all the scalpers get tix.

I got tickets for Seattle last year at something like 2pm, and got very good seats. given, this isnt safeco and is in a larger market, but it still doesnt make sense, to be sold out in 2 mins

I think it's the size of the building. XIX had tickets on the presale going on into the afternoon. I kept checking back in to see what the best ticket at the time was all day.

 

Although being smarks we kind of generally look at this with a "boy, they're going to overhype and underdeliver on this one, huh?" attitude, this is probably enough of a milestone to interest those who were wrestling fans from the Rock N Wrestling days to the HHH Goes Over Everybody days. At least, it wouldn't shock me if that were so.

 

And it's not exactly like the arena has a hard time filling up even on crap shows.

Well, I remember when I used to go to House Shows in Cleveland, the box office would open at intermission to start sales for the next event (usually a RAW or Smackdown) which was nice because you got rewarded for coming to the show and you didn't have to pay Ticketmaster's outrageous ticket fees. When they stopped doing that (Ticketmaster made it worth their while, maybe?) I didn't see any reason to go to House Shows that were getting shittier and shittier each time. Bad long-term business move in my opinion.
