J. Hungerford Smith 0 Report post Posted September 28, 2003 How is he supposed to know that you were implying that the match had to be "announced?" A match is a match. Bret and Yoko wrestled each other at two Wrestlemanias in a row. There's no need for you to throw a fit about it.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted September 28, 2003 I threw a Fit? When and Where? WWE has never hyped back to back Main events at Mania before, which would make Brock/Angle more special in that sense. Besides, Hart/Yoko wasn't even booked until the last minute anyways... Guest shez316 Report post Posted September 28, 2003 (edited) Wrestlemania XX has all the potential in the world. Most of the biggest stars wrestling has ever seen are under contract for this one. I agree with most posts, the legends have to be there. Moreover, like Wrestlemania X a new breed should emerge. The most important thing is the build up. they have to get it right. How about this for a card: World Title Main Event Lesnar Vs Undertaker (NHB, end of career) Angle Vs Hart Rock Vs HBK (imagine the promos) Austin Vs Hogan special guest ref Vince Benoit Vs Jericho Vs Goldberg Vs Steiner (Four way elimination for other World title) Foley Vs Orton (Hell in the Cell) Mysterio Vs Ultimo HHH Vs Flair (end of career) WGTT Vs Eddie/Chavo RVD Vs Cena (ladder match) I'm sure most will agree that is a dream card! ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted September 28, 2003 I'll say this now... WM20 could be as "bad" as either WM9 or WM11...and I'd still enjoy it. Going to my first WrestleMania will be great. Plus, there's always the possibility of being on the DVD...even if just for a brief moment. Oh, and the bad is in quotes because of two things. 1) Watching WrestleMania 9...I don't see the big gripe about it. Seemed pretty good for me...maybe not up to calibur with usual WrestleMania's, but not a bad card. 2) WrestleMania 11 was the first WrestleMania I ordered, and thus will hold a special place in my heart. Plus...I liked the Allied Powers' theme.

ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted September 28, 2003 Going to my first WrestleMania will be great. You didn't travel the approx hour to 15? *bonk* At the time, my parents weren't accepting of the fact that I was a wrestling fan, and would not buy the ticket for me. I didn't have a job at the time either. Plus I didn't have a driver's license. However...by the time St Valentine's Day Massacre rolled around, my parents became accepting. So, I got to order WrestleMania 15.
Jobber of the Week 0 Report post Posted September 28, 2003 HHH Vs Flair (end of career) I'll cry if HHH retires Flair (unless it's another Flair/Funk "retirement.") Give it to Benoit or someone who at least has the technical skill that it makes sense that he beats Flair at his own game. Besides, I always thought Heel Benoit was much better than Face Benoit. If he adopted Flair's "dirtiest player in the game" bit and added some cheat moves to his list, he'd get more heat because his straight-up technical wrestling means squat to most WWE fans. Seemed pretty good for me...maybe not up to calibur with usual WrestleMania's, but not a bad card. It had disappointing matches. Especially Yokozuna vs Bret Hart No One was expecting anything out of this... To this day I wish they did the HBK/Perfect match here and Have Luger End Tatanka's Streak instead. Yeah I know that Luger was Heenan's new Project and all with Perfect leaving him but still, Perfect was easily the #2 face after Hart. I mean when Tatanka is 1/2 of the MOTN...you know that card had problems... WM11 was worse though even though the Title Match was soild (i give it ***1/4) but that was it, the whole B Level Celeb/NFL takeover ruined the feeling... WMIX had the funky Outdoor venue and the roman theme that was just fucking rocking...Better then the fucking Hartford Civic Center. That's how BAD business was in 1995, they had to do it in their proverbial backyard.

Guest The Rising Star Report post Posted September 29, 2003 Which legends should come to WM XX? I would like to see Hogan, Savage, Ultimate Warrior, Jake Roberts, Ted DiBiase, Snuka, Bret Hart and Tito Santana. You know, since Tito was in the first ever Wrestlemania match, he should get a special ceremony or something. And I would mark out for DiBiase's music (everybody's got a price) or something like that.
Jobber of the Week 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2003 WMIX had the funky Outdoor venue and the roman theme that was just fucking rocking... I was looking at that area last month that month. It's just a gigantic pile of dirt now: (This crappy construction zone goes all the way around in back to the site of WMIX) I know everyone will bitch me out on this one (not enough for your money, watching 2/3rds the show on bigscreen sucks, etc etc), but I think a WM 2 style thing with cheaper seating that took place in the Mandalay Bay arena, MGM Grand Gardens (where WCW did a lot of events), and Thomas & Mack (where WWE does their Raw and PPVs in Vegas) would be kind of neat. You could advertise it as the brawl that goes all the way across the Vegas strip.

Guest TheGame2705 Report post Posted September 29, 2003 The key point that needs to be made above all else, if Brock faces Angle in the main, no one's buying this unless you pack the fuck out of this card.

I agree. Sorry, but WWE really over did that match up. IF they wanted to put it in the main event, they shouldn't of had a rematch until WM 20.

CanadianChick 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2003 Okay. You said you were glad that they had the last two matches. I'm asking why? Those two matches have killed the suspence for a ultimate rematch between Angle and Brock. Could you imagine if they had a rematch at WM 20? The suspence in the quality of the match, the winner of the match would be great. The buildup would be awesome. It would have been a year in the making. And this time, the two have switched roles. But alas, it can't be like that anymore.
USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2003 Besides... how the hell do they plan to top the Ironman? Ironman in Hell in Cell? Please.... Angle vs Brock is now unbelievable... no one would care.
Jobber of the Week 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2003 I was looking at that area last month that month. It's just a gigantic pile of dirt now: How do you know for sure that that photo is the spot where Wrestlemania IX was? Is there an article on it being demolished? That's the closest I have to it. WM was held around the back where it's also just dirt and concrete (though I don't have a picture of that particular pile of dirt and concrete, sorry, but it all looks the same). The shots of the "Caesars Palace" buliding behind Hulkster when he holds up the title are for sure Caesars "Roman Tower." A picture in the WM XIX issue of Raw Magazine shows a wide shot and the back of a hotel called Dunes, which was blown up years ago for a gigantic place called Bellagio. The backside of Dunes is so far away though that the only place it could be held was in back on the other side of the pool. This pile of dirt goes around the sides of the pool and to the back, where there's currently nothing. It's the only place on Caesars property large enough to hold something of that size. To give you a better idea, here's a photo from the freeway right behind Caesars. The tall building there was not built back then, and WM9 was somewhere between the tall building and the road: There's no skybridge between casinos near there so there's no way I can give you an overhead shot of the place itself, but believe me when I say it's the right size. But alas, it can't be like that anymore. Oh, you got me wrong. I meant that I don't think the WM20 would have delivered to the incredible hype it would have had. After seeing the last two, I HATE them in the ring together, and if I waited a year for a match in the same league as those two, I'd be pissed. I liked the 19 match except for the absence of crowd heat and of course the botched SSP. If that would have connected and been the finish, the match as a whole may have come off better. Still, I don't think they can top 19, even with its flaws.
USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2003 Game, yes but who would buy the ME of Mania being Brock vs Angle on the idea of just another singles encounter when they got the Ironman for free?
Just call me Dan 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2003 I don't think they would have bought it after the SS match. The ironman didn't draw anything, so I'd assume neither would a WM20 Ironman.

Austin3164life 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2003 Wrestlemania can be an excellent show, because the WWE has the deepest talent pool they've ever had. Of course, with all the early hype springing up, and factoring in backstage stuff (politics, creative, management, injuries), it won't be a perfect show. This show should be about two main things. First, it should highlight the legendary superstars who have made Wrestlemania what it is today. Secondly, and most importantly, this should be the place where new icons emerge to carry the WWE into a new era. A match list such as this would rock MSG: WWE Championship: Kurt Angle vs. Chris Benoit © (Special Ref: Bret Hart) World Heavyweight Title: Chris Jericho vs. Triple H © Ladder Match: Shawn Michaels vs. RVD The Rock vs. John Cena Brock Lesnar vs. Bill Goldberg Legends Match: Hulk Hogan vs. Steve Austin WWE Cruiserweight Title: Rey Mysterio Jr © vs. Ultimo Dragon TWGTTP vs. E & C Undertaker vs. Randy Orton
