Nevertheless, in another example of me being a standup guy, I thought I'd let the select few of you here that appreciate great film in on a little sale that's going on right now. For any fan of the Criterion Collection, Christmas has come early this year, as DVDempire has decided to take a select listing of Criterion titles and mark them down as low as 50%. The deal can be found here, and if you were ever going to add some great titles to your collection, the time is now. Most of these retail for at least $40, which makes this deal so great, as most of them round out at $19. Upon seeing this special, I quickly order Straw Dogs, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, and Throne of Blood. All three were titles I had wanted quite badly since their release, but never wanted to shell out $35-$40 for each one. With this special, my total came out to less than $60, excluding s/h. I've been wanting Life of Brian for a year now I may get Straw Dogs too since it's being discontinued. Discontinued Criterion = big bucks on Ebay I noticed some of them are currently sold out. I'd order soon though, as I'm not sure how long they're going to honor the prices. Fear and Loathing was out of stock, but they're going to send it with my other two titles once it gets there, at the same discount price.
