MarvinisaLunatic Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 So, let's talk MVPs... If the Marlins win I have to go with Beckett or Cabrera. Cubs...Sosa or Gonzalez Im surprised you didn't say I-Rod for the Marlins. That seems quite obvious.
Guest Choken One Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 Hargrove? Eh, Why not. Hes a really good manager if he has players that can play. Although he's the anti dusty baker in terms of dealing with pitchers. He seemed to take pitchers out too soon..I don't know which is worse. Bakers style is worst as it would kill the pitchers...not so much the other way with Hargrove's style...
Mik Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 Well, it's not as obvious as it would have been if there was a DS MVP. I really think you give it to Beckett. One of the best performances of NLCS history and now he's just shutting down the Cubs again.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 strike out, inning over.. Question now is..who's singing Take me out to the Ballgame in a half an inning..
Guest Choken One Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 IROD would get the votes being a huge offensive performer and being a leader on field as well...
Bruiser Chong Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 I'd like to be the first to say that if the Marlins hold on and the Yanks take it tomorrow, I will get behind the Yankees for the first time since 1996.
Mik Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 It's actually Billy Corgan. Smashing Pumpkins, indeed.
Guest Choken One Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 strike out, inning over.. Question now is..who's singing Take me out to the Ballgame in a half an inning.. OZZY! Please! If they had class, they play a tape of Hank singing...
Guest Choken One Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 It's actually Billy Corgan. Smashing Pumpkins, indeed. fuck that shit!
Mik Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 C'mon Bruiser, where's the NL loyalty? if the Cubs win I'm behind them all the way. This has been a great series and both teams deserves to win, as pathetic as that sounds.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 Well, it's not as obvious as it would have been if there was a DS MVP. I really think you give it to Beckett. One of the best performances of NLCS history and now he's just shutting down the Cubs again. I-Rod has had several clutch basehits...10 RBI...high avg...
sfaJack Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 We need a tape of HARRY CARAY singing the stretch. That'd inspire the Cubbies to victory.
Mik Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 Thankfully they went with the totally uninspiring Billy Corgan!
MarvinisaLunatic Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 We need a tape of HARRY CARAY singing the stretch. That'd inspire the Cubbies to victory. that was the overwhelming choice on the ESPN poll..Corgan only had like 5% behind Jordan, Bill Murray and Mike Ditka as well as the tape recording..
Guest Choken One Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 Thankfully they went with the totally uninspiring Billy Corgan! Solid money says he's BOMBED.
Mik Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 I thought Cabrera was safe there. Oh well.
sfaJack Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 I thought Cabrera was safe there. Oh well. I'm glad he wasn't, or we would have had to endure Thommy dubbing Cabrera the fastest rookie in major league history...
Mik Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 I'd be scared out of my mind if I had to sing Take Me Out to the Ballgame at Wrigley, especially in this game. The TV ratings are no doubt through the roof.
Guest Choken One Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 thom sucks some more Cabera cock.
Guest Choken One Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 DAMN IT SOSA! MOVE YOUR FUCKING ASS TO THE BALL!
MarvinisaLunatic Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 Bernie Mac goofed last night when he said "Root, root root for the CHAMPS!" Champs of the NL Central I suppose..
MarvinisaLunatic Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 Damn..Its cool seeing Conine up there hitting .435 and 2-2..
Guest Choken One Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 Cubs Pitching coach :Dude, So do not give up a homer ok? Farns: Cool Dude, I got you... *thinks to self* "what did he say?" *pitches homer* Farns: SHIT!
Guest Choken One Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 God damn it Farnsworth! THE BALL WON'T HURT YOU! CATCH It!
Guest Choken One Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 For such a big guy, he's pretty afraid of the ball...
sfaJack Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 Oh, yeah...Veres. Now I feel sooooooooooooo much better.
Guest Putty Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 DAMN IT SOSA! MOVE YOUR FUCKING ASS TO THE BALL! exactly - in little league on the first day we were taught that: A. The ball does not come to you B. Therefore you should move to the ball
