Vern Gagne Posted October 8, 2003 Report Posted October 8, 2003 How could baseball not have at least 1 day game at Wrigley field.
Guest Choken One Posted October 8, 2003 Report Posted October 8, 2003 Ratings Baby... Very few people can watch a day game these days...
Vern Gagne Posted October 8, 2003 Report Posted October 8, 2003 I guess. Although it's a shame it all about ratings. The game sure has gone corporate.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted October 8, 2003 Report Posted October 8, 2003 The 2nd ball to Alex Gonzalez looked like the first one, I thought they showed a replay..
MarvinisaLunatic Posted October 8, 2003 Report Posted October 8, 2003 The Alex Gonzalez of the Cubs..
Guest Bobby Cox is God Posted October 8, 2003 Report Posted October 8, 2003 Who just deposited a homer. 6-6. Damn.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted October 8, 2003 Report Posted October 8, 2003 The referenced Alex Gonzalez hits a 2 run homer to tie it.
Downhome Posted October 8, 2003 Report Posted October 8, 2003 Wow, this sure is a ball game. I wish it wasn't all about the home run though.
treble Posted October 8, 2003 Report Posted October 8, 2003 I like the fact that the ex-Jays and Expos are helping the Cubs out here. Just need Grudzieliekaneanknneneknknek to hit a homer and complete the hat trick.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted October 8, 2003 Report Posted October 8, 2003 Wow, this sure is a ball game. I wish it wasn't all about the home run though. There were 4 triples earlier. How many times can you say a game had 4 triples through 6 innings?
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Posted October 8, 2003 Report Posted October 8, 2003 Gonzalez crushes 2 balls in one game. The wind must REALLY be blowing out tonight.

How many times can you say a game had 4 triples through 6 innings? Yes, I understand that. Still, the "big story" will be about how it was the home runs. I don't know what's been happening to me for the past two years, but the home run doesn't get me as pumped as it used to. Don't get me wrong, I still enjoy it, but I much prefer the other sort of ball game over the home run.
Guest Bobby Cox is God Posted October 8, 2003 Report Posted October 8, 2003 Remmy the former Brave. What I would have gave to have him a few times this year.
Downhome Posted October 8, 2003 Report Posted October 8, 2003 Remmy the former Brave. What I would have gave to have him a few times this year. So when are you taking Greg out of your sig?
Guest Bobby Cox is God Posted October 8, 2003 Report Posted October 8, 2003 Hah, The Holy Trinity is a way of life I've worshipped those guys for years.
Downhome Posted October 8, 2003 Report Posted October 8, 2003 Hah, The Holy Trinity is a way of life I've worshipped those guys for years. Yes. Don't forget Steve though. Next year will be interesting, especially after reading the news today.
Guest Bobby Cox is God Posted October 8, 2003 Report Posted October 8, 2003 Avery owned. Yeah I think the Braves will field a team with playoff potential, but it won't be a knock your socks off team. I personally don't want Sheffield back, and I think we can find a good replacement for a lot cheaper. Whoever it is will only be keeping RF warm for Francouer*
Downhome Posted October 8, 2003 Report Posted October 8, 2003 Avery owned. Yeah I think the Braves will field a team with playoff potential, but it won't be a knock your socks off team. I personally don't want Sheffield back, and I think we can find a good replacement for a lot cheaper. As long as he keeps RF warm for Francouer. This is it on the Braves, I promise. I miss my Braves teams from the years 1991-1995. On a side note, long live Otis Nixon.
Mik Posted October 8, 2003 Report Posted October 8, 2003 I'm surprised to still see Beckett in the game. Hope it doesn't end up being a big mistake.
CanadianChris Posted October 8, 2003 Report Posted October 8, 2003 On a side note, long live Otis Nixon. Sure looks like he did, anyway. MLB really needs more players that look like kids in a World Vision infomercial.
CanadianChris Posted October 8, 2003 Report Posted October 8, 2003 Sheeeeeeeeeit. Well, this would sure be a nice spot for Sammy to break out of his slump.
