The only problem with a Cubs/Sox series is that I wouldn't want either team to lose.

That's the entire point. I can't put into words how magical that series would be, it would be outstanding.

I can just imagine it going to the 7th game, extra innings, with it all on the line. It would be the ultimate sports story, one to go down for generations to come (even if it didn't go down to game seven, etc...).

Two "cursed" teams meeting one another in the World Series. One team to go home, finally fullfilling their dreams and breaking said curse, while the other goes home broken and beaten.

One experiences the ultimate climax of joy, while the other is sent home experiencing the ultimate heartbreak.

Wow.

Dollars to doughnuts it's a sweep.

When is Game one? Saturday?

Prior would start correct? Or Clement?

Personally, I say just throw Boone and Leiter in the booth for the World Series and maybe Buck. Lock the other three out.

Even if it would be a sweep, everything I said still applies. It would be the ultimate sports story.

It would be an event that every fan could get into, even if they don't care for either team.

Who gives a shit about the Yanks being in the WS again (besides the Yanks fans) when you could see a story unfold that would mean so much more?

Chicago/NY is another easy to book Storyline as well

The evil empire vs the Ultimate Underdogs, AMERICA'S team...

but yeah Bos/Chic is the ultimate showdown.

Beckett pitched a gem Sunday, but I don't know how wise it is to use him again so soon. Sure you gotta pull out all the stops, but putting him out there on two days rest is pushing it just a bit if it's for any more than one or two innings.

He has 200 days to rest for the next season...If you NEED him...put him in.

We better just shut the fuck up, or we'll end up getting Yanks/Marlins, heh.

I'd Still dig that as I love McKeon and its a shame if it weren't for Cubbies being there, trader jack would be getting mad love.

Not only that, but it completely wrecks your rotation for the WS. I'm all for pulling out all the stops tonight to win (hell, you HAVE to), but if you win, your next game is only 2 days away and you will need a starting pitcher for that game.

Getting Beckett out of the pen tonight is a bad idea. He is the only one who is "not available" to me tonight.

He'll have a 3 day rest and he can pitch game two anyways...

Not I, but it's cool you'd like it.

For me, I wouldn't give a shit about the series. I just don't want to see that matchup this year, not this year.

One a side note, I hope the Marlins score really quick and tie the game. I want this one to be a close one for the Cubs.

You better count again. It would only be 2 days' rest. Game 1 of the WS is Saturday.

And if you bump him to game 2, which is fine I guess, who do you start in game 1? Willis? He's been a gascan in the postseason.

Actually, it may be three days; it's supposed to rain all day in both Boston and New York on Saturday, so they might not get started until Sunday.
