DrVenkman PhD Posted October 2, 2003 Report Posted October 2, 2003 Good work, Leonard. Now I have a question for you for the next one... Recently, I watched the movie "Piranha". The Moviepix website (the channel that shows older movies in Canada) claimed it was both a parody of Jaws and a comedy, but in watching the movie, it seemed to be a straight up horror movie about deadly fish that just happened to be unintentionally funny. A comment about it on IMDb also notes many people mistake it for a parody. Do you have any thoughts on the film and what it was trying to do? And correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Joe Dante was involved with the movie, the same Joe Dante who changed the Gremlins from fearsome horror monsters into hilarious muppets. Could this be why people think it's supposed to be a parody? If you've never actually seen or heard of the movie, that's cool too. Your old GWP Wrestling pal, Steve.
