Jobber of the Week

Bruce Willis puts bounty on Saddam Hussein

Entertainer Bruce Willis has put on what is probably the first-ever rock concert in the desert of northwestern Iraq.

The Hollywood star and his band flew to a U-S airfield to entertain the troops. Hundreds of soldiers -- some sitting atop helicopters -- cheered and whistled as Willis belted out rock-and-roll and the blues. Most said they didn't know he could sing but liked what they heard.

One officer calls Willis "a guy's guy." Another soldier says when somebody supports the military like he has and comes to visit, "that's important to us."

Willis drew loud cheers when he offered to pay a (m) million dollars to the soldier who captures Saddam Hussein -- adding -- "If you catch him, just give me four seconds" with him.

Yeah, Saddam is a piece of shit, but isn't this kind of personal bounty for someone's death/capture against the law in the United States?

That's why he did it in Iraq!!!

But seriously, yeah, it probably is. I don't think it's going to amount to much, though.

I'm not totally sure.

I think it might be legal if he isn't offering money for killing Saddam.

I mean people offer rewards for finding kidnappers and for info on killers all the time.

A guy's guy? WTF?

I was out of the room when he was on O'Reilly the other day FAUX NEWS LOL 2003! but I think he clarified his remarks by saying that he'd give that money to charity.

With that being said, it would be funny to see a courtroom battle between two soldiers fighting over who gets the money.

"I shot him!"

"No, I shot him -- your bullet just took him down."

Hey, people have gone to court over record-setting baseballs, why not bullets?...

What a self-important asshole he is. He's borderline decent as an actor, but as a musician, give me a break. How delusional can you get? The sad part is that the soldiers were cheering his performance. The day in and day out horror of fighting a war must have sabotaged their taste in music.

John McClain should stick to killing East German terroists although I guess if they ever do Die Hard 4 we know the plot now.

There's already reward money out for the captures of Saddam Hussein (before this concert) and Osama Bin Laden, dead or alive. Preferably dead.

I think he was just trying to get a cheap pop is all and add some motivation to those troops...

I think they were probably cheering more for the fact Willis came out there rather than for the quality of music he was playing...

Bruce Willis is a pretty bad singer, that's true (unless he's markedly improved in the 7-8 years since I last heard him). However, it's also completely unimportant. He flew halfway around the world -- probably at his own expense, since the USO was never mentioned in the article -- to entertain American troops. THAT is why they were cheering: for his sincerity and efforts in going there and doing what he did.

I didn't think it was that hard to comprehend.
