MrRant 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2003 The leader of a shock-rock band is vowing to defy threats of criminal charges, and go forward with a concert featuring the suicide of a terminally ill fan. The band, which is known for outrageous stunts, says the suicide concert will be broadcast live over the Internet. Billy Tourtelot, leader of "Hell on Earth", says the concert and suicide likely will take place Saturday night, in two undisclosed locations in St. Petersburg, Florida. He wouldn't give any more details on the venue. He says he's granting his friend his dying wish. The suicide threat led St. Petersburg to pass an ordinance banning the event, and a judge to issue an injunction against it. Florida Attorney General Charlie Crist says anyone who assists in a suicide could be charged with a felony, and face up to 15-years in prison. kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2003 I heard about this last night. If Tourtelot wants his fan to die so bad why doesn't the band just shoot him in the head at an undisclosed location? Better yet, why doesn't this fan just off himself? Oh yeah, because Billy's an ACTIVIST. Of course, If I were Billy I'd make sure this fan buys the latest album before putting a slug in his head. Maybe a few T-shirts as well. I remember the days when rockers were accused of killing their fans through subliminal messages in their music. Such a kinder, gentler time that was... MrRant 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2003 I remember Phil Donahue trying to get an execution on PPV -- would you have bought that, too?... Yes. Especially with the guillotine. On a hill. And have the mob run it too so we can gamble on which hole the head will roll into. (Credit to George Carlin)
kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2003 and its more stuff that the media needs to label "metal/rock" music that is somethin from satan. I don't think metal/rock is that big a deal anymore -- hip-hop seems to be where the music-is-killing-our-kids activists are at now...
Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted October 5, 2003 Hopefully this will change that, and give metal its rightful claim once again. Suicide is self-expression, buddy. Make us proud.

Guest MikeSC Report post Posted October 5, 2003 and its more stuff that the media needs to label "metal/rock" music that is somethin from satan. Well, considering how bad some of the bands are, deals with Satan to become famous aren't beyond the realm of the possible, I suppose. -=Mike

Slickster 0 Report post Posted October 6, 2003 It's been delayed until next week....the server that would have shown the video love was hacked by PCs in Hong Kong. The concert went on just fine, though. Because of legal pressures, the suicide was to be held at a secret location that not even the band members were aware of.
