Guest HBK16 Posted April 5, 2002 Report Posted April 5, 2002 Which wrestlers are nice and which are jerks. I heard that Justin Cridble was really cool and X-Pac was a jerk.
Guest El Satanico Posted April 5, 2002 Report Posted April 5, 2002 See the problem with this who's an asshole and who's not questions. Most of the people that answer are just regular fans who just walk up to the guys to meet them. Wrestlers are just like any person and have bad days. So the problem is some fans can catch wrestlers on their bad days and get the impression that the guy is a dick. You can never get a accurate answer so why do people ask about it.
Guest Mik at Cornell Posted April 5, 2002 Report Posted April 5, 2002 True, but I can definitely say from own person experience that Christian is a nice guy. He was obviously tired after the show (this was at TGI Fridays) and some asshole pushed his face, like piefaced him, and he didn't do anything. He just told him to never do it again. He was really cool and posed for pictures with us. Great guy. Jericho was a dick that night but like Satanico said, that doesn't mean he's a dick in general.
Guest TheDames7 Posted April 5, 2002 Report Posted April 5, 2002 I've had the distinct pleasure of meeting most of the WWF's superstars from 2000 to now. In all of my experiences, I only have 2 instances in which a wrestler rubbed me the wrong way. I asked Test for a picture (yes, Test...I like Test ok) and he said no because he was drinking and he really wasn't looking too good. Believe me, I agree. As I walked away, these girls come up to him and he takes a group picture with all of them. I don't hold any hard feelings though... I went up to Too Cool, and got GMS and S2H's autograph...when I walked up to Rikishi, he looked at me and walked away. THAT pissed me off. Other than that, everyone was really cool, especially Shane & Steph & Bradshaw of all people. Dames - Has the Pics to Prove It
Guest Anglesault Posted April 5, 2002 Report Posted April 5, 2002 Jericho was a dick that night but like Satanico said, that doesn't mean he's a dick in general. Apparently he IS a dick in general. There are tons of "Jericho is bad to fans" horror stories
Guest Some Guy Posted April 5, 2002 Report Posted April 5, 2002 These guys get mobbed every where they go, so if they are dicks to some people then I don't fault them. Plus people get mad and call a guy a dick if he had just signed 500 autographs and then stopped before he got to them.
Guest TheDames7 Posted April 5, 2002 Report Posted April 5, 2002 Dammit, I want to make sure that I at least get to give my side of the Jericho is a dick story. I've met the guy twice. The first time was in the grand opening of WWF NY, like I met everyone else. He backed into me on the dance floor, turned around and apologized...and I immediately began to mark out. I told him my name was Damian, in which he totally went into character by calling me Danny. We talked for a while, and then had a few drinks. We hung out for 40 minutes, awesome time. The second time was at Axxess a few weeks back. When he signed my Wrestlemania X8 program, I asked him if I could hold the WWF title for a second, and he had no problem with it. The thing is pretty damn heavy, I'll tell you that. I was in such awe that I didn't dare put it on my shoulders, I just looked at it while I held it in my hands, ala HBK at WM12 after he wins the title. Everytime I've met Jericho, he's been really cool. Dames - D2J
Guest cobainwasmurdered Posted April 5, 2002 Report Posted April 5, 2002 Well I've Met ALOT of wrestlers and well there's really no way to tell who's really nice and who's not, here's my lists: NICE: bret hart owen hart chris benoit chris jericho RVD (was stoned outta his mind) Stu Hart Curt Henning Ric Flair Al Snow Tazz Tommy Dreamer (i hung out with him for like an hour) Jeff Jarrett Sting Jerks: nash hall x-pac hbk hhh hogan (fucking prick) dudley's test Davey Boy Smith Dynamite Kid
Guest TheDames7 Posted April 5, 2002 Report Posted April 5, 2002 Wow, If i were to post how many wrestlers I've met...this thread would be long, you just reminded me CWM. BTW, D-Von was cool, Bubba was not. Bulldog was cool with me too as was HHH. Dames - Has Pics With Them Too

You should have made a run for it! And I can top that! The Rock was in my town for the day doing an autograph signing. Well, anyway, me, my GF and my best friend(The damned third wheel) went to the pool for the day (The pool is an Oympic sized pool, there is also a weightroom/gym right outside it.) Well, anyway, MY GF was just getting out of the pool when his man came by and accidently hit her ass. We all thought it kind of looked like the Rock, but we didn't think much of it. Then when we were in the locker room, we saw the guy again. The only reason I think it COULDN'T be the Rock is...what the hell was he doing at my pool? He said "Hey" in the Rock's "real person voice" (You know, the one he uses on talk shows) and gave me the eyebrow (I guess he heard us talking about it, because it couldn't be him.) anyway, the three of us all talk about the day we "Met the Rock"

Dames - Has Pics With Them Too i spend alot of time in calgary so that's how i met most of them. maybe bulldog's normally nice but he was with diana and she took off and called a cab. and 5-10 minutes later my little brother went up to him for an autograph and he well let's say he used language unsuitable for little ears.

Guest TheDames7 Posted April 5, 2002 Report Posted April 5, 2002 Well, in Bulldog's defense, if Diana Hart has any truth to her slanderous book, Bulldog and her didn't exactly have the greatest marriage, so I'm sure that he just picked the wrong time to talk to him. Anglesault...how can you say that having The Rock say hi, swim in your pool and give you the eyebrow is better than holding the REAL WWF title....or even hanging out with Jericho for close to an hour? Guest Posted April 5, 2002 Report Posted April 5, 2002 Nicest guy bar none: Jerry Lynn. About a month ago after an SDW show up in St. Paul (and trust me, Jerry Lynn is GOD up in these parts), everyone goes to Buffalo Wild Wing, and HE sat down at our table and just started talking to US. Very, very humble person. Someone that works for SDW was telling me about how Lynn actually went up to him and told him "Hey, I'm Jerry Lynn.".....as if he didn't already know who he was!

Guest thebear Posted April 5, 2002 Report Posted April 5, 2002 Chris Kanyon is really cool... After a WWF show in Halifax last september, him, Lance Storm and Ivory spent almost two hours signing autographs outside the Metro Center... Not just a "sign, now get outta of my face" type thing, but talking to fans about thier careers and such... It's just they went out of thier way to make a smaller WWF market (Metro Center seats 11K max) feel like they're important..
Guest Some Guy Posted April 5, 2002 Report Posted April 5, 2002 Oh yeah well I've got a story that will make everyone REALLY jealous. I met Brutus Beefcake at my work. He lives in my home town and came into my Bakery and asked if we had bagels. My reply, "...............". He smirked and asked again, my reply, "....................". He then asked again and gave me the goofy Brutus Beefcake face and I finnaly said, "no". He then asked where to get them and I told him down the street. He got back into his huge white SUV and drove off. I felt like a total fucking mark. At first I didn't recognize him because he had gained weight and cut his hair short and I didn't want to embarrass myself by asking a total stranger if he was Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake and him thinking I was nuts if he wasn't. A few months later my friend stalked him at Dunkin Donuts.
Guest dreamer420 Posted April 5, 2002 Report Posted April 5, 2002 I have met a few in my wrestling experiences before: nice: bret hart (really nice guy, invited us to chat in his hotel room) arn anderson koko b. ware jimmy hart the coach trish stratus lillian garcia assholes: ed leslie (around 88 or 89 i think and he was a dick) hercules
Guest mickberna Posted April 5, 2002 Report Posted April 5, 2002 I've never met any famous wrestlers, but I do personally know "Curse" who was a member of Team Taz who is a pretty cool guy, and I once got an autograph from an indy worker who actually was ripping off Aldo Montoya. He was called "The Portuguese Sensation", and the sumbitch took my pen with him! Yeah, what fantastic brushes with fame.
Guest Nater Posted April 5, 2002 Report Posted April 5, 2002 My friend bumped into Flair outside of a gym in my city, he said to him "Hey your a lot shorter than I thought".. thought that was funny. I'm sure people who work or live near gyms have stories seeing as they use local ones to work out.
Guest Lord of The Curry Posted April 5, 2002 Report Posted April 5, 2002 Bret Hart invited some boys up to his hotel room? Tsk tsk...trouble a brewin'.... I called into Live Audio Wrestling and talked to Chris Benoit once, really cool guy, I was pretty much in shock because I was speaking to him. Diana Hart was an insane bitch when I called into the LAW, maybe because I mentioned Dynamite Kid...
Guest NickC Posted April 5, 2002 Report Posted April 5, 2002 The coolest wrestler I met was Scott Hall at an autograph signing. He talked to everyone and went overtime to make sure everyone got their autographs. He even armwrestled my dad. Kurt Angle was cool too, he shook everyone's hand. You didn't even have to put your hand out, he puts his out. He must've shook 800 hands in that one autograph signing. Norman Smiley I met as he was leaving the London arena. He signed everyone's signs except for my mate's 'Kurt Angle 4 Mayor' sign.
Guest notJames Posted April 5, 2002 Report Posted April 5, 2002 I once rode a plane with the Hebner twins back in '94. I hadn't been watchig wrestling for a while, so it took a bit before I was convinced it was them. You can definitely tell them apart when see them close up. Dave seemed a bit wound up, but Earl was cool as a cucumber. I didn't say anything to them, though. (Yeah, great story, I know...)
Guest Posted April 5, 2002 Report Posted April 5, 2002 BTW, D-Von was cool, Bubba was not. Bulldog was cool with me too as was HHH. Thank You Dames. I say that all the time and no one ever believes me. I met both Dudleys at WWF NY the night after SummerSlam 2000 and Buh Buh was a total prick while D'Von took pictures with me and my 2 friends. Really Cool Guy. I also have pictures to prove it, LoL. Also, I met Val Venis, Test & Saturn at the Pepsi Arena and Val & Test were both really cool with me but Saturn was a total and complete Bastard. I worked there at the time but I was off the clock and me and an other guy who worked there at the time was standing in the back away from the back doors and from the entrance where the Wrestlers go through and when Saturn walked by us we said "What's up Saturn?" and the Fuckin' dickhead actually made a scene and started yelling at people to find out if we belonged back there even though we had our Pepsi Tags around our necks. I hope that Crowd killin' bastard fucks his other knee up.
Guest RetroRob215 Posted April 5, 2002 Report Posted April 5, 2002 From my own personal experiences Mick Foley & Curtis Hughes are cool. I met Curtis a few weeks before his big comeback at Titan Towers. I was in the area and was checking out the building and then he walked out. I didn't recognize him until his driver said Mr. Hughes because he was like 200 lbs. lighter than the last time I saw him on TV.
Guest Eric the Eagle Posted April 5, 2002 Report Posted April 5, 2002 A friend of mine went to a WCW taping way back when - the show where Disco Inferno debuted, I think - and somehow made his way backstage. He had every plan to go up to Hogan and tell him how washed up he was - until he actually ran into Hogan. Seeing as he reachd the man about to his belt buckle, he decided to ask for an autograph instead...
Guest Zack Malibu Posted April 5, 2002 Report Posted April 5, 2002 I actually work for one of the larger wrestling merchandise companies (not gonna say which, no shameless plugs from me!) and have had the privelege of being backstage with both WWF and WCW. I went to Nitro in 2000, and for the most part, everyone was pretty cool. There were two jerks, though. One was Jeff Jarrett, who looked at me like I wanted to borrow $5000 when I asked him for an autograph. He mumbled "no" and put his head down and walked away. The other was Shannon Moore, who when asked for an autograph, told us to "make it quick" in true dick mode. That same night, I had no real interest in meeting Hogan (never was much of a fan), but because my employers had been to previous events, Hogan comes up to ME, and says "Hey, you work with so and so, right? How are ya brother?" and shook my hand. That was one classy move I didn't expect. Sting, Crowbar, Helms, Karagias, Bigelow, Candido, Tammy, David Flair, Stacy, Vampiro, Stevie Ray, Disco, Lenny Lane, Norman Smiley and others were really cool, and I have pics with most of 'em. Flair came up to me and asked how I had access backstage, but when I told him who I worked for, he lightened up, shook my hand, and walked away. Luger walked around with his nose in the air, so I didn't bother talking to him. Don't like him much anyways. I also assisted the WWF at Axxess last year in Houston. Met Foley, Test, Ivory, Sgt. Slaughter, Val Venis, 2 Cool, Kane, Bobby Heenan, Mean Gene, and others. Didn't get to meet guys like Rock, Austin since they were in "production meetings" going over there matches. Not one complaint from me here...everyone was really cool and I look forward to meeting them again.
