I have encountered some resistance from many other people on this board. I try to join their conversations but they ignore me. I am not sure why this is happening. I feel that my points are valid and interesting. I do not understand why I am being ignored. I am beginning to feel like I am not welcome here. Perhaps I should have waited a few days to mention the bird watching.

They do not understand that you are different to them and are a unique person. I find your ability to be so faithful to your love of birdwatching admirable and, while I myself do not enjoy birdwatching as a hobby, I do respect birdwatchers for their fine work in watching birds. Keep up the good work in these forums Lukester, you are welcome. Just ignore the nay-sayers.

Don't start a "hey everyone" thread. Just start posting. This is excellent advice and I greatly appreciate your dispensing of this excellent advice. Unfortunately, I have already made the thread and posted many times in it. But I do not feel that the decision to make the thread has put my popularity in jeopardy. I feel that I have already made many friends. I feel that many people here like and respect me. I also feel that many people here are interested in hearing my opinions on topics that interest me, such as music and bird watching. I have had many positive responses to my anecdote about my name. I am very proud of that anecdote and to see it bring joy to others makes me happy. I feel that I am well on my way to becoming a valued member of The Smart Marks. I do not think that this thread has put my popularity in jeopardy. Your advice is still valuable to me, LaParkaYourCar. I think that we could become fast friends. To make more friends, I'd go to the LSD folder and dig up the COCK SHOTS thread. Good times.
