Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted October 10, 2003 Let me just say that this week's show was the most fun I've had in formatting a show in a LONG time. Not that I don't have fun, but the efforts of THIS roster shined through in spades, and even an IZ guy (Jay) tossed into the goodness that was this week's show. All of you should pat yourselves on the back, because I think this was one of, if not THE, best HeldDOWN~! I've seen. We've had things like Caboose returning after leaving this place, we've had wrestling clinics put on by guys like Rags, Mad Matt, the DM's and myself, and still, this was such a great, unified effort to show that our hearts are still in it. I'm fucking proud of you guys. *wipes tear* You made me cry, ya bastards...

Patty O'Green 0 Report post Posted October 10, 2003 Wonderful show, butterflies. Zack, excellent job on the 24/7 match. I apologize for not getting a promo in for the match. I also derived enjoyment from Calvin's "male wrestlers only" meeting.
Tony149 0 Report post Posted October 10, 2003 Both shows delivered the goods this week. I really enjoyed Calvin's backstage speech. Nice to see both brands have a great sense of pride in their product. IMO the next step is split PPVs, for a one-time deal only that is.

Stephen Joseph 0 Report post Posted October 10, 2003 I'm confused by Calvin's speech. Other than that, I thought the show read well
Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted October 10, 2003 I'm confused by Calvin's speech. Other than that, I thought the show read well He's a homegrown hD~! talent, and he's motivating people in his own way, similar to how WWF/E rallied against WCW. Calvin ESTABLISHED himself on hD~! You IZ boys are just lucky he's the champion. Same thing with the DM's, baybee! ::Goes to spraypaint "hD~! rools IZ drools~!" on Popick's house.::

You IZ boys are just lucky he's the champion. Same thing with the DM's, baybee! ::Goes to spraypaint "hD~! rools IZ drools~!" on Popick's house.:: But he's a heel...It's like a lack of kayfabe there. That's why I gave the show a 7. Having a heel, and a terrible one backed by a heel stable, deliver a speech to rally all of hD including the faces, who should be distrusting of him, ruins the kayfabe that he had being a heel. I can't see that actually happening IRL, unless one show was being made the aggressor. FYI, I am going to try and bring through that angle, Calvin at least gave me that idea. I'll probably suck at writing it though I'd like to point out that it was also an iZ tag team that dropped the belts to the Dream Machines cleanly. We helped. No, seriously, I'd really love to see more floating championships matches on iZ. We had some when you and I were feuding, but hD did too. When that feud stopped, so did the title shots on iZ. I think that's why there's the Intense5, and I think thatll help. But if you want to know why I rated it a 7, then now you know. Do you get my impression on the breaking of kayfabe? Now...if *and this is a big if and PURE SPECULATION on my part, Calvin's speech was disingenious as he's been getting buddy buddy with Dan Black on iZ, then everything makes perfect sense. Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted October 10, 2003 I see it as this. Not only could it have to do with Calvin's IZ arrangements, but think about this...what champion wants to be the king of a sinking ship? He's trying to bring out the best in people, but in the end he wants to be the one to wind up stepping on their toes. Notice what he said to Mad Matt in the promo. Plus, it's also a rally for a brand. You saw the same thing in the WWE during the WCW invasion, and nowadays during their brand split.
