Guest TheGame2705 Report post Posted October 19, 2003 - Cena was asked what he thought about the Macho Man's new CD and he said it sucked and that it sounded like a wrestler trying to rap and that if you look at the cover of the CD you would see that Macho didn't even write his own lyrics. Well if that isn't nerve
Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted October 19, 2003 While Cena's rhymes are ok for wrestling, he won't sell dick when it comes to albums. His album will flop in stores. He has no cred amongst hip hop fans and the wrestling fans will end up downloading it. Cena's rap style, like Game2705 said, is fucking whack. A lot of stalling and pausing. His flow is fucking terrible in terms of actual rapping. Since rapping is what would make this a commercial success, let me be the first to condemn this thing straight to hell, where it belongs. Hey Cena, stick to wrestling. You still need to master that as well.
Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted October 19, 2003 Well if that isn't nerve Yeah, but Cena > Savage, rapping-wise
SamoaRowe 0 Report post Posted October 19, 2003 I don't see the John Cena album being anything ground-breaking, but I don't see it being terrible either. Remember that he will be recording it in a studio, meaning that they will work to cover up his weaknesses. On a side note, I don't see why so many people have such a problem with John Cena's in ring work?!? I've yet to see him in a bad match (besides maybe a squash or two when he was new) and he put on a great match with Chris Jericho last summer.
Papacita 0 Report post Posted October 19, 2003 Cena's rap style, like Game2705 said, is fucking whack. A lot of stalling and pausing. His flow is fucking terrible in terms of actual rapping. Like I said before, I seriously doubt he's gonna rhyme like that on track. Most likely, the pauses in his rhymes on TV are done so that the fans can digest his rhymes more easily...his promos come off better that way than they would if he came out flowing normally. Again, if you take a look at the Halloween episode when he spit his first on-screen rhyme or listen to his theme song, you'll see that his flow isn't bad. In the end, I think it'll be more an issue of content than anything else.

Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted October 20, 2003 I said it before and I'll say it again. This album will bomb commercially. No self respecting collector of any rap music will buy it. I can't wait to reference this thread when it sells like dog shit in the stores.

I wasn't talking about the rhymes I was talking about him saying that Savage sucks because he sounds like a wrestler rapping. John Cena can achieve his dream of being black for once. In pot and kettle form.

My thing is that if you're gonna knock Cena for something, knock him for something substantial, because you really can't get him for his flow.
