Sense a pattern in most of these October shows? The shows normally suck, but one or two matches are MOTYC.

95-sucked

96-good

97-good

98-sucked

99-good

2000-good

2001-good

2002-good

So, based on percentage of past October PPV's, No Mercy has a 75% chance of being good, and a 25% chance of being bad. With Rey/Tajiri, Angle/Cena, and Taker/Brock on the card, this has a chance to be a keeper.

Chance.

Triple H def. Chris Benoit

Amazing how this is the only match they ever had. Televised anyway.

They faced each other on Smackdown at least twice off the top of my head - the first week the Radicalz were in WWE (2/3/00 I believe was the airdate) and after No Mercy 2000 Benoit won a rematch and the Radicalz reformed on Smackdown.

Yes their first meeting was the infamous Smackdown where Eddy broke his arm when the Revolution had to take on D-X to earn jobs. I don't know about the night after No Mercy though as Benoit faced Road Dogg on Raw. Don't remember off the top of my head of them wrestling in each other 1-on-1 again.

Edit: Just looked it up and Benoit did beat Triple H on the November 2nd Smackdown that year.

It wasn't the night after No Mercy, it was either the Smackdown after No Mercy or 2 Smackdowns after. Benoit beat HHH in about 4 minutes after the entire Radicalz interfered, and they reformed.

Hunter Hearst Helmsley def. Fatu

Goldust def. Marty Jannetty

Yokozuna NC Mabel; double count out

Razor Ramon def. Dean Douglas to win the Intercontinental Title

The British Bulldog def. Diesel by DQ; WWF Title Match

I did not like this show one bit. I doubt Vader v Yokozuna will be seen as a classic.

Buried Alive – October 20, 1996

Steve Austin def. Hunter Hearst Helmsley

Owen Hart & The British Bulldog def. The Smoking Gunns; Tag Title Match

Marc Mero def. Goldust; IC Title Match

Sycho Sid def. Vader

The Undertaker def. Mankind in a Buried Alive Match

I enjoyed all of the matches on this and bought the video. Well, Sid v Vader was WAY better than I expected as well.

Badd Blood – October 5, 1997

Rocky Maivia, Kama Mustafa, & D’Lo Brown def. The Legion of Doom in a handicap match

Max Mini & Nova def. Tarantula & Mosaic

The Godwinns def. The Headbangers to win the Tag Team Titles

Owen Hart def. Faarooq to win the Intercontinental Title

D.O.A. def. Los Boricuas

Bret Hart & Davey Boy Smith def. The Patriot & Vader

Shawn Michaels def. The Undertaker in a Hell in a Cell Match

A total one match show for me, even though the Hart/Bulldog v Patriot/Vader match was OK and so was the midget Tag Match.

Judgment Day – October 18, 1998

Al Snow def. Marc Mero

L.O.D. 2000 & Droz def. The Disciples of Apocalypse & Paul Ellering

Christian def. Taka Michinoku to win the Light Heavyweight Title

Goldust def. Val Venis

X-Pac def. D’Lo Brown to win the European Title

The Headbangers def. The New Age Outlaws by DQ; Tag Title Match

Ken Shamrock def. Mankind; IC Title Match

Mark Henry def. The Rock

The Undertaker NC Kane; WWF Title Match; Special Referee, Steve Austin

I liked some of the matches here. X-Pac v D'Lo and Christian v TAKA were both REALLY good and the IC Title match and Val v Goldust was good as well.

No Mercy – October 22, 2000

The Dudley Boyz def. Lo Down (1st elimination), Too Cool (2nd), Tazz & Raven (3rd), and Bull Buchanan & The Goodfather (final) in a Tables Elimination Match

Chris Jericho def. X-Pac in a Cage Match

Steven Richards & Val Venis def. Billy Gunn & Chyna

Steve Austin NC Rikishi in a No Holds Barred Match

William Regal def. Naked Mideon; Euro Title Match

Los Conquistadors def. The Hardy Boyz to win the Tag Team Titles

Triple H def. Chris Benoit

Kurt Angle def. The Rock to win the WWF Title

HHH v Benoit was amazing and a good way to show that Trips was awesome at one point in his career. WWF Title match was very good as well.

No Mercy – October 17, 1999

The Godfather def. Mideon

The Fabulous Moolah def. Ivory to win the Women’s Title

Hardcore Holly & Crash Holly def. The New Age Outlaws by DQ; Tag Title Match

Chyna def. Jeff Jarrett in a Good Housekeeping Match to win the Intercontinental Title

The Rock def. The British Bulldog

The Hardy Boyz def. Edge & Christian in a Ladder Match

Val Venis def. Mankind

X-Pac def. Bradshaw (1st elimination), Kane (2nd), and Faarooq (final) in a Four Corners Match

Triple H def. Steve Austin in an Anything Goes Match for the WWF Title

Oh, this ! Well, a total blowaway match made this memorable. The ladder match rocked ! Val v Mankind and HHH v Austin were OK but the rest was passable.

No Mercy – October 21, 2001

The Hardy Boyz def. The Hurricane & Lance Storm to win the WCW Tag Team Titles

Test def. Kane

Torrie Wilson def. Stacy Keibler in a Lingerie Match

Edge def. Christian in a Ladder Match to win the Intercontinental Title

The Dudley Boyz def. The Big Show & Tajiri; Tag Title Match

The Undertaker def. Booker T

Chris Jericho def. The Rock to win the WCW World Title

Steve Austin def. Kurt Angle and Rob Van Dam (pinned) in a Triple Threat Match for the WWF title

Well, this PPV was AWESOME for me. Nothing terrible in this one at all. Undertaker v Booker was a little boring but apart from that, I liked it.

No Mercy – October 20, 2002

Chris Jericho & Christian def. Booker T & Goldust; World Tag Title Match

Torrie Wilson def. Dawn Marie

Rob Van Dam def. Ric Flair

Jamie Noble def. Tajiri; CW Title Match

Triple H def. Kane; WHW Title Match

Kurt Angle & Chris Benoit def. Edge & Rey Mysterio to win the WWE Tag Team Titles

Trish Stratus def. Victoria; Women’s Title Match

Brock Lesnar def. The Undertaker in a Hell in a Cell Match for the WWE Title

A couple of good and an AWESOME match make this good enough to watch again.

I enjoyed the match though.

Uh oh...this topic is gonna get ugly now.

I'll just say Jericho winning the Big Gold Belt makes the show.

That was a pretty bad show. I liked the Razor/Douglas match though...and for some reason, I went crazy for the Yoko/Mabel match back in the day. Funny...

I was just watching this last night...you'd think I'd like this one because of Chyna's win, but outside of the ladder match (which really doesn't hold up for me after TLC and all that), this PPV was bad. I especially hated the main event...I think this was the match where the stupid "drag and brawl" main event style was really starting to work my nerves. Austin and HHH spend half the match walking around the arena slamming each other into stuff, and they have the most contrived ref bump in history when Austin slingshots HHH into Mike Chioda...his dumb ass sits there for like half a minute watching them set up the spot and didn't move...even Lawler said something like "Ref, you might wanna move".

God damnit typo....thanks for pointing it out. Hardyz were the champs so the match was just for the tag titles. Hardyz had won them against Booker T & Test a couple of weeks earlier.
