clean rob 0 Report post Posted October 20, 2003 You don't recall Lesnar getting SQUAHSED No, I don't. I remember Lesnar and Taker wrestling to a no-contest at Unforgiven, and then Lesnar pinning a bloodied Taker in his signature match a month later (the culmination of their feud and the match that will be remembered of it). Taker got the upper hand in the feud occassionally, so what? Would you have had Lesnar squash Taker week in week out then dominate and pin him at Unforgiven? Or perhaps some other equally genius booking? You refer to Lesnar as 'The Heatless Wonder', which as I remember, he was - right up until... oooh, around this time last year? Could it be his feud with Taker worked, and got our boy Brock some heat at last? Naaah, the only way to get over is to go over, isn't it? Isn't it? Are you a Goldberg fan, HHH's 'Roid Needle? Because feeding everyone to him to get destroyed may well have worked for GB, but only at the expense of everyone he tore apart. And I for one don't find it entertaining. As for Guerrero, did you want him to keep the US title till he retired? No, me neither. What wrestler could Eddie have dropped the belt to that would lose him the least amount of heat? Rey Rey? Chavo? No, losing to a (currently very credible) 7 foot monster who has been WWE champ and beaten pretty much everyone on the roster does not make Eddie look bad. And he lost while he was injured, got plenty of nearfalls and took TWO chokeslams. How much stronger could he been booked while getting pinned? It's funny, I thought I'd rather anyone was running the WWE than Vinnie Mac, but at least he has some modicum of sense, which puts him one rung above you. The Mandarin 0 Report post Posted October 20, 2003 Eddy lost one match, after a good title reign, to a man twice his size who has been built up as a monster, covered in wound dressing from a vicious beating he took prior to the match and the commentators put over so as to make him seem less than 100%. He has not, repeat not, been "buried". Edit: Also, what TMER said. Exactly. I said just a week ago Eddie could still look strong even in defeat. And I thought he did last night. 2GOLD 0 Report post Posted October 20, 2003 The understanding I get is Eddie cheated and hit every move he had but still lost the match. Considering Show left him a bloody mess on Smackdown, I still don't see how this helps Eddie other than the double chokeslam. If Eddie DIDN'T hit the froggy and lost by double chokeslam then it's a different story. The way they have set it seems like Eddie can't beat guys bigger than him. It seems like Eddie was thrown to the wolves cause Vince wanted to re-establish Big Show as a monster. And Cena is basically done. Has he won a match of an importance cleanly in the last few months? I know he won the Taker match but the WWE likes to pretend that never happened as Taker moves up while Cena loses to Eddie and now Angle. Granted, he's losing to some top tier guys but he's still losing and isn't winning any of these big matches. This feud no longer helps Angle cause now he's just fighting a wrestler who can't get it done when it matters. I don't even see the point of continuing this feud now. Cena might as well job to Gowen and let him move into the feud with Angle.

Sometimes it's not about whether you win or lose, but how good you look doing it.
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted October 21, 2003 I'm never glad about no ordering WWE ppvs. It saddens me that they put out a subpar product not worth paying for. But then again, that just leaves more money for Pride and UFC ppvs... I'm happy with that
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted October 21, 2003 Oh, and Eddie lost to the fucking shit monster for crying out loud.
AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted October 21, 2003 There never has and never will be a PPV worth 34.95 of my dollars. So do I regret it? Hell no. Ditto. The mere fact that there was McMahon vs. McMahon on it makes me glad I didn't buy it. I don't care if the spirits of Owen Hart and Curt Hennig possessed their bodies for 20 minutes and they put on a **** classic, I'd still refuse.
Guest JMA Report post Posted October 21, 2003 I honestly forgot it was on.
Austin3164life 0 Report post Posted October 21, 2003 People have overrated the show, based on their low expectations going into it I guess, but people have also underrated the show as well. Three matches were entertaining and nothing (other than the McMahon fiasco) was too offensive. It wasn't an excellent show by any standard but it wasn't bad either. A pretty good one actually. Guest nikowwf Report post Posted October 21, 2003 It was a show that had guys capable of having ***** matches going up against ** matches guys all over the place and one where a match featuring incestuous undertones and a shitload of McMahons was the most heavily pushed. Methinks thats why some peeps have a problem with it. niko
