So how much trouble is Denver in?

Wow that was a name from the past this weekend wasn't it? So do you think Denver can win with it's 3rd string QB or are they in trouble for the next couple of weeks? I mean Kannell was never that great when he played for the Giants.

Danny Kannell, huh? Even though he's probably not, I'm thinking he's a mediocre token old QB for some reason. I vaguely remember him playing for the Giants, but nothing else sparks a memory.

Why not just pick Up Drew Henson who likely is similar to Plummer's style anyways or hell Akili Smith can hand the ball to portis rather effectively

Why not pick up Elvis Grbac?

I barely remember Kannell too, but I came across his name on Whatifsports.com and saw the name this weekend.

I'm sure for the right price he'd consider coming back for a few weeks.

1. Denver would have to trade for him. The trade dealine has already passed. Henson would probably come at a somewhat steep price as well, and probably one that is far too great to pay when you just need a fill-in QB until Plummer comes back in a few weeks (unless he's out for the year....did I miss something?).

2. Henson hasn't played football for nearly three years now. Not only is he probably not in "football shape," but he's rusty as well. You couldn't throw him out there with just a week's prep time. That'd be insane.

I don't believe Kent Graham is currently on anyone's roster. He's better than Danny freakin' Kanell, and would make a decent fill-in until Plummer gets back.

yeah but George is cocky and would ask for 14 mil for his two week start...

But O Donnell would be a good starter period much less a suitable back up.

The coaching staff likes Kannel, so they are comfortable with him playing. It's not like they are putting the game on his shoulders, Portis is still the main offensive weapon.

The only thing Kannel needs to do is manage the game. Kannel's job isn't to win the game, it's to not lose the game.

I believe Kannel has worked with Denver for a few years now. As we have seen in the NFL over the last few years, If Kannel knows the system he'll be fine.

What ever happened to Trent Dilfer?

he's the back-up in Seattle

Am I the only one who wants to see the 3rd string QB injured? They can just keep doing direct snaps to Portis for the rest of the day

I forgot about that. Blew my mind when he split w/ the Ravens after the superbowl victory..I mean, he was such a perfect fit for that system.

Neil O'Donnell is a shitty choke artist. He'd be one of the last people in the history of football that I'd want as my QB.

And it gets worse....

DENVER -- Danny Kanell missed Friday's practice with the flu, leaving the Denver Broncos  with one healthy quarterback for Sunday's game at Baltimore.

Newly re-signed quarterback Jarious Jackson took all the snaps Friday, and he said he was coming down with a cold. Kanell, who was vomiting and experiencing other symptoms of the flu, was given intravenous fluids.

Damn. Danver can't seem to catch a break.

Denver sure does have bad luck with QBs this year.

I'd be surprised if Kanell doesn't play, unless he has a major case of the flu or if it caused him to miss important "can't miss" practices.

The Denver running backs better not forget their work boots this Sunday...
