Lord of The Curry

"He beats the whole army guys alone? "

"It's happened before in real battles. Since Jim used guerrilla warfare, AND had the added element of the one Infected soldier running around (who, in turn, infected others)."

Just to add on to that. Jim only killed three of the soliders himself. He got two by surprise, and one of them was unarmed, and cowering. It's not like he did a Rambo, and single handedly took on a whole army.

"He tried to save her damsels on danger, but let free the infected guy?

Even when that guy "help" him in some way, he didnt know if the infected will go after the army guys or the gals."

He knew he couldn't take on all the soliders by himself, so he needed some sort of an edge to even the odds the best he could. Like Corey said, it helped him accomplish his mission.

"The father of the girl.... He knew that blood is dangerous... still he saw a body, a BLOODY body hanging (at the Army meeting place) and still walk and place himself right under the body and let the blood to infect him."

He was freaking out, and kicked the platform in frustration. He didn't stop to think that blood would drip down and catch him in his eye of all things. He wasn't exactly thinking rationally and acting carefully at that point.

Ok I just watched the movie for a 2nd time.

I have a question, that arose after my second viewing.

What exactly is the deal with the army mansion? At first I thought it was just a small group of surviving army soldiers that found the mansion and decided to hold up there, but after watching the movie again and trying to make sense of what the other prisoner(the one executed right before Jim was supposed to be) was saying to Jim. It leads me to believe that those soldiers knew that the rest of the world was starting to return to some type of normality, but they wanted to like start some new world order or something, starting with the mansion and the surrounding land in that area. They saw Jim and the other guy as a threat to their demonic ideas so they had to ride of them. I came to this conclusion when Jim was laying in the brush and he saw the airplane flying overhead, which would indicate possibly, non-infected folks ARE being searched for. Also the other prisoner saying they were "quarrentined" and his other ramblings...

Thoughts?

Pretty much, that is what I thought.

My thinking was when they had the one chained up, he mentioned that he learned how long it takes for them to starve to death. So as long as they could stay holed up and out last the infected, then England would be their's essentially, to rebuild. The other guy said fuck all that and was starting to corrupt the minds of the new people, so they had to get rid of him. As long as he was just spewing his "the virus didn't spread" stuff around them, who didn't care, then they didn't mind. But once other people heard and believed him, time to kill him.

If that is the case, I doubt that the other soliders were in on it. They all seemed young and impressionable and willing to do whatever the OC said. If anyone knew about the quarantine, it was the OC and the other sgt who was executed.. In the commentary, Boyle & Garland mention that actually both the OC & the sgt were authority figures in command and were supposed to be polar opposites of eachother.

Of course, the whole quarantine theory just could have been a good guess by the sgt and the OC in reality could've though he was doing what he had to do for his men to survive.

The possibilites are endless, really.

Finally rented it....watched it...watched the alternate endings......this is the first time in a long time that I felt I truly wasted 2 hours watching a film.

Most overhyped film I've had the misfortune of sitting through in years.
